Cristiano Ronaldo’s wedding guest list is a mix of top-tier global celebrities and sports icons, including Lionel Messi, Rafael Nadal, Rihanna, Drake, and Kylian Mbappé. The list reflects a network of high-profile individuals across sports, music, and entertainment, suggesting strong interconnections among the world’s most famous figures. While some friendships (like between Ronaldo and Messi) are rooted in shared sporting achievements, others—such as Vin Diesel or Travis Scott—seem more coincidental, raising questions about the authenticity of these connections. The inclusion of Khabib Nurmagomedov aligns with Ronaldo’s known interest in combat sports, while the mention of “I Show Speed” is widely viewed as a satirical or clickbait addition. The conversation also delves into broader themes of celebrity culture, friendship, and authenticity, highlighting how fame often leads to wide-ranging social ties, even if their depth is questionable. The segment blends humor, analysis, and skepticism, underscoring the surreal nature of such celebrity gatherings and the line between genuine camaraderie and performative networking.
Cristiano Ronaldo had the most stacked wedding guest list of all time. - I wanna go to the wedding. - Okay, you wanna hear who is there? - Yes. - Okay. - The first one, Lionel Messi. - That feels like it makes sense. - I feel like it kind of shocks me because I feel like they're rivals. - I don't think they're as much rivals as you think. I think people talk about them the goat like had to head a lot of the times, but actually together like they're friendly. - You think they're friends? - I would think so. I mean, I kind of hate it for the sport, but I hope they're friends. - You think they're boyfriends. They're not boyfriends, definitely not. - But they are boys that are friends. - They are, so they're boyfriends. - Oh, I hate when I'm like, you ever go out and you're like, oh, yeah, I was talking to my girlfriends. - I never say that. - You say that? - I try to stay away from it, but sometimes I accidentally say it, or I'm like, oh, my female friends. - I just say my friends. - Well, it depends on the context of the story. - Why do they have to be women or men? - Well, because if it's a group of women, they're your women friends. - Well, yeah, but then you would call your guy friends your boyfriends? - No. - My man friends. - My man friends. Okay, so Lionel Messi was there. - Yes. - Another guy that's gonna be there is name-ar, which also makes sense in the soccer room. - When I think of soccer, modern-day players that shape the sport, I'm thinking Ronaldo, name-ar, and Messi. - Those are the three guys. And then it used to be his lot-ton with them, but those are the big three. - Yeah, so a lot-ton's a little old there, so. - Rafael Nadal is gonna be there, too, one of the goats of tennis. - And that makes sense because Nadal is, isn't he Spanish? - Yeah, I think he's from Spain. So why Portugal, Spain? I guess they're just friends because they're both awesome athletes. Nadal is from, he's definitely Spanish. - Manacor, Spain. - I don't see the tie to Portugal, but one of the great athletes in his own sport, Ronaldo and him friends. - The tie to Portugal is that it's right next to her. - Yes, okay, that's fair. - There's the tie. Another one that was shocking that she was there, it was Rihanna went. This, see, this is where I'd start losing track of what makes sense. It just seems like once you get to be extremely famous, you're just friends with all other extremely famous people. - Do you think they're actually friendly, though? - Probably not. - Like, enough to go to the wedding? Like, how many people are attending this? - Apparently she went, so I'm assuming that, yes, they are friends. - Okay, another person that was there is Drake. I'm starting to lose the plot a little bit. - It's going off the rails a little. He kind of just is inviting all of these people. I guess just because they're all famous. - Yeah, that's fair. - They're all just fans of each other. Another one, which off the rails again, Travis Scott is going to the wedding apparently. - Okay, again, doesn't make sense. I wonder how many of these people are his wife's friends. - Ooh, that's a good point. - Like, maybe her and Rihanna go back. I don't know. - Maybe, I don't know. Why? 'Cause she's a girl. She can't have any guy friends. - Well, she's a girl friend. - She is a girl friend. - You like that? - Jennifer Lopez is going to be at the wedding, which is extremely random in my opinion. - J-Lo? - J-Lo is going to be there. - Is she performing? - I don't think so. I didn't know that she was even a soccer fan. - She's not. She's a Ronaldo fan problem. Apparently she is. This one makes sense. David and Victoria Beckham got invited. - Okay, again, soccer world makes sense to me. - Another one that makes sense, Killing and Bop A got invited. He's on the younger end of soccer players, but he's going apparently. - He's forever 19. He'll never change. - Is that like the Jason Tatum? - That's the Jason Tatum joke. But I'm telling you, he's going to lead the World Cup goal scorers by like 20 goals. - Yeah, it's going to be insane. - He's already basically there. - Yeah, I think he's tied with messy. - This one might be the most shocking invite I'm in the mall. Vin Diesel. - Vin Diesel's going. - Yeah, fast and furious, obviously. - That makes sense. Why? - It checks out. - Yeah, checks out. - I'm sure we're in all the scene every movie. - You know, he's a DJ. Vin Diesel? - No, I didn't know that. - Yeah, I have one of the songs that's not bad. I'd like to see him and Shaq the DJ go head to head. - Yes, DJ Diesel versus Vin Diesel. - Oh, I don't know. Vin Diesel's DJ name. Looking up, another one that was kind of shocking why he got invited was Kabeeb Nermog and Medoff. That's a UFC fighter. This one's a little less shocking because I know Ronaldo's a big fan of the UFC. We saw him at the fight in Saudi Arabia. - Isn't he just taking like the goat of each industry and inviting them? Is that what he's doing? - I wouldn't call Kabeeb the goat, but pretty much. Like, he's bringing the best of every industry. Nadal, Kabeeb, Drake, Rihanna, Namar, Messy, all those guys. And then the last invite, which I thought was fake, but apparently I show speed got invited. That doesn't make any sense. - Which he would freak out if he got invited. - No, he would. - Do you think Saline Debt is going? - Probably not. - Oh, I have a feeling. - I have a feeling. We saw this post on Wealth on Instagram. It's called @Wealth. I have a feeling they threw an I show speed at the end just to like clickbait people. - Yeah, yeah, just to make people like that. - And we're gonna do it back by posting this video. - Yeah, I show speeds going to the wedding. Apparently, you heard it here first. - Yeah, you heard it here first. - Confirm to 10-day. I got the artist who doesn't have a separate DJ name. He just goes by Vin Diesel. - Oh, yes. I have one of his songs saved on my image playlist. But is Shaq just Shaq then? - No, that's DJ Diesel. - Oh, is he? - Yeah. - Oh, you didn't know that? - I had no idea. - I thought you were saying that because it's Vin Diesel versus DJ Diesel. - No, I just thought about it. That's what a creative mind does. All right. Welcome back to the podcast. This is podcast 215. - I feel like is the energy in here good? Do we feel positive? We feel great today? You're the one who's hung over. - Do we feel awesome today? - Do we feel incredible? We're going to record the best podcast ever? - Oh my gosh. - Shaq just flew back from Myrtle Beach. He got a family trip and apparently was out losing at the bars. - I got so nauseous on the plane. - I threw up. - All right, I threw up. - I didn't know how to play. - Not on the plane. - When did you throw up? - I woke up on the couch at four o'clock in Myrtle. - Yeah, it's in Myrtle Beach. And I like before, like I just passed out there. - Yeah. - So I woke up, I got the spins. I went to the bathroom. I didn't, I'm not a poultry guy. - Yeah, yeah. - I just let it rip. - Yeah, okay. - I expelled it from my mouth. - Was it at least your hotel room? - Yeah. - Okay, yeah, my hotel room. - Was anyone else staying in the room with you? Like was your brother there? - Yes. - Your brother? - Yes, my brother and my cousin Monica. - Did they wake up to you? - Yeah. - No, no, no, no, no one woke up. It was awesome. - It was quiet. - He's a silent puke. - And then you bombed our bathroom when he got here. - Twice. - Twice. - No, the second time was just gas. - All right. So the podcast, any updates for the people? - I don't think the one thing I want to say was about our favorite golf app, the scorecard app, the Grimm. - Yes, we love the Grimm. - And if people want to follow us and our golf rounds this year, 'cause we've been playing a good amount of golf. - Yeah, I'm going to try, and we're continuously playing. So I'm trying to log at least one round a week, at least trying to get to two rounds a week. I went from an 18 handicap to a 12.9 just because of the Grimm app. - I think you identified him. - No, but you identified your weaknesses. You started tracking your handicap. - Correct. - You've seen your friend's scorecards also plays into it. Seeing how other people are playing, you want to compete with them, head to head. - I agree. - I also think playing more challenging golf courses and then coming back and playing your home municipal courses is a big advantage. You want to know something in the app that I don't think you know. - What? - You could track how many beers you've had on the course, and then it'll compare your drinking game versus your golf game. - That's correct. - So you could find your optimal game through like, oh, I had two beers and I went on like a back-to-back birdie stretch. I'll call Zach, he's back folks, I'm not, I drank the last three days, it's been bad. - AZ, well I'm gonna be drinking the next three days in the future. - You put into the golf course and Zach is like doubting 12 beers. - It's like, it's optimal for the golf game. - It's my optimal number. - It is. - An update for, yeah, if you guys want to download it, download the Grimm app, it's the best golf score app in the business. - Yes, and the biz. - In the biz. - Another update, I'm gonna be in Las Vegas all week. So if anybody listens to the podcast, lives in Las Vegas, hit us up. - We'll be in Las Vegas for. - You're gonna have one day for them to meet you. - Yeah. - Or with something inked, which is a big merchandise trade show. We're gonna meet some good people. Maybe hinting at some merchandise in the future. Who knows, if we make some good connections. - Make the connections, come up with ideas, see what people do successfully and let's build this thing. - Yeah, let's get some merch. - What would be the best-selling shirt? - I wanna do like a bald line. - Did you think that would be fun? - This guy's a one-trick photo. He only has the fact that he's bald. - I honestly think a shirt with Jarv's face on it would sell. - I think it definitely would. - You know what would be funny? If we did a shirt with each one of the makes you a project faces and see who's sold the most. - That's Jarv, it would probably be fun. - Well, or you bald. - 'Cause they sexualize them in the comment sections of the makeshift music videos. - No, they don't. You just came up with that. - Yeah, that was very- - Did you ever have you to say that? - Who said that? - Did you have you doing that? - Have you said that? - You made burger accounts and sexualized Jarv? - No. - I didn't even know what that meant. - Is he your boyfriend? - No, you said that. - I've never said that. - I was telling people in Myrtle Beach. They came up to me and they were talking to me. They were like, "What about those music guides?" I go, "The comment section is just so funny." Yeah. I go, "The comment section is so funny." All they do is sexualize Jarv. - Do they ask you about the other accounts? - No comment. I plead the fifth. - That's all I'm saying. - A lot of people ask is about whooping golf. - Yeah. - Yeah, people know the golf account and then people know basketball if they watch or are basketball content. - Yeah. - Obviously. - A lot of diehard basketball fans love the basketball page, which I'm happy about. - One wins, we all win. - We have to take that mentality as a lot of win more than the others. - Okay. - More than us. - Any other updates on the channel side? - I don't think so. I think that's pretty much me and Las Vegas. - Yeah. - I might switch some of my background up soon. - Okay. - I might do it. Oh, shout out golden tape. He's on here. Did you know that? - We met golden tape in Scotland. - Oh, he's on the bottom right. - Yes, he's mossing an eagle. - That was like his one highlight on the giant. - No, he was not bad on the giant. - Oh, I like golden tape. - He was pretty good. - I might change some things up too. - Just a freshen up a little bit. - I'm gonna put my Travis Matthew Cady thing in there, I think. - We'll see. - All right, let's move on. - Okay, enough. Let's move on, right? - We're back, yeah. - Spider-Man brand new day. Did you watch it? - Didn't watch it, would love to watch it. - I've never seen a Tom Holland Spider-Man movie. - Really? - Never. - Yeah. - Did you watch this one? That's why my opinion on him is so strong. - Oh, that like told me requires the goat. I have nothing to compare it to. - No, he's seen any other Spider-Man movie. - He's great. He's fantastic. - He's a great Spider-Man. - The worst Spider-Man. - No, he's amazing. - Some people say he's like not that good of an actor. Like in the Odyssey, they were like, oh, Tom Holland. - I've heard Tom Holland. - You haven't seen it. - No, but I've seen the clip of like, what's her name? - Anne Hathaway. - Yeah. - Apparently she's like an Emmy winning Emmy? - No, Emmy. - No, Emmy's TV shows. - What are movies? Oscar? - Oscar. - Oscar-worthy performance. - And Tom,
- Collins just there with a straight face. - I don't think Tom Holland's on screen that much. - I don't think so. - I don't think he has that big of a park. - All right. - Tom Holland's good. And I've heard this, this Spider-Man has a 98% of run tomatoes. - It's the highest rated one ever. - That's ever been released. - I know. - Okay. - Give the man some credit, give him the flowers. - I wanna talk about Spider-Man even though I've never seen it. - I know, next. - Mmm. - Zack's still hung over. - I know the next villain in the Spider-Man franchise. - Who is it? - I hinted at this last podcast. - Is it Bald Zack? - This is not Bald Zack. This guy is Bald, he wears a wig in the movie though. There's a pattern within the movies that reveal the answer. - Okay, I wanna hear it. - Peter Parker's best friend always turns into a villain. - Oh yes, we interviewed that kid. - Yes, I forget his name. - I forgot his acting name, but. - You know what they call that kid? - What? - The CEO of Sex. - What is this? - Is this sex part now? - I swear to God, I'll find it. - His name in the movie is Ned, it's his best friend, but his name in real life is Jacob Battalon. - In Toby McGuire and Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man, Harry Osborne turns into the new Goblin. - Correct, I do remember that. - Both movies, so in Spider-Man and Andrew Garfield's one. - Yeah, no, it makes sense. - Who's his best friend in the movie? You just mentioned it. - His best friend is Ned, which is Jacob Battalon. - And in the comics, Ned leads is the original Hobgoblin. - Zack, I hate to say it, but if Ned turned into a villain, I wouldn't be that scared. (laughing) - There's more around this though. - I can't help it. - It's kind of giving Hobgoblin. But he's like, not that scary. - So in no way home, Ned casually uses magic and opens portals. Ned also promises Peter that he won't turn into a supervillain and try and kill him. It's a line in the movie. - Okay. - Marvel doesn't do throw away lines. Everything means something. - No, yeah, it is very meaningful to me. - When he says that in the movie, the color sees wearing, do you know them? - I don't. - Yellow and blue. - Okay, what does that mean? - What color's the Hobgoblin? - Yellow and blue. - Yellow and blue. - What is the Hobgoblin? - You can look it up if you need to. - Just go look at what I texted you as well. - Ned also told Dr. Strange that, what? (laughing) - Hold the picture up on the podcast. - CEO of Sex is dropping new three new positions in New Gender. - Dude, how have you guys never seen that? - I've never seen since I was going out for a while. - Oh, that is. - But you're telling me that guy. - You're gonna be scared of him as the Hobgoblin? - No, probably not. I'm gonna use the CEO of Sex. That's nuts. - I skipped the whole section here. I meant to go this. We could throw this in the short form at it earlier if you need to. - In the comics, Ned leads as the original Hobgoblin. Hobgoblin name gets passed around a lot, but Ned's character is unique. He's the only one who can use chaos magic. - What does that mean? - He can open up portals and he's able, I think chaos is like-- - I think you're making yourself. - Yeah, I am kind of a little bit. But we're getting there, we're getting there. He also told Dr. Strange that magic runs in his family. - Okay. - The biggest thing of all is that Peter raises everyone's memory at the end of no way home. - I guess he does, it's very sad. - The green goblin. - Actually, Dr. Strange does technically. - Oh, does he? - He does, but it's Peter's choice. Okay, the green goblin left his mask behind. - All right. - Ned's gonna find it in the next movie. - You think? - He's gonna get the idea for Goblin villain character and then Ned's gonna turn into the Hobgoblin. - So I just looked up what's the difference between the green goblin and the Hobgoblin. Do you wanna hear the difference? - Yes, I do. - They differ heavily in sanity, motivation, and identity control. The green goblin created by Norman Osborne, a corrupt industrialist who found, - That's the green goblin. - I know. - Oh, sorry. I thought you said the Hobgoblin, but not just at the Hobgoblin. - No, the green goblin created by Norman Osborne, a corrupt industrialist who found a chemical formula, granting him superhuman strength, speed, and durability, but at the cost of his sanity, his son Harry later took up the mantle, which you were explaining. - You know, I'm quite the scientist myself. - No, you're not. - The Hobgoblin introduced-- - That's the line from the movie. - No one getting the references. - Can I explain this? - The Hobgoblin introduced in 1983 as Rodric Kingsley, a Ruthful fashion mogul who stole Norman Osborne's hidden gear and equipment cash. Kingsley changed the color scheme to orange and blue and gave him the suit, gave the suit a hooded medieval look for the Hobgoblin, for the Hobgoblin. - Yeah. - I mean, I don't know if that's guys pushing fashion forward, like you're saying. - Who? - Ned? - Ned, the sex man. - I'm just seeing all of the sex. - Ned. - At the end of all of this, Dr. Strange warned Peter not to mess with magic, which he did by racing everyone's memory, which might lead to his best friend turning him into a villain. - I thought that this was the last Spider-Man with Tom Holland. - Apparently they're signed up for five more movies. - Are they actually? - I, again, rumors. And this is just scrolling. I have no confirmed sources. - They could be Avengers movies too, as well, I think. - Yeah, probably. - Tom Holland? - At least two to three more. - Yeah. - Solo Spider-Man movies. - You just can't have a chubby villain. (laughing) - The penguin. - The penguin was different, though. - It's not that different. - If your name's the Hobgoblin, I feel like you need to be chubby. - Have you seen the past few movies? He's like the, no one's gonna be scared of him. - I kind of agree. - You don't know, though. - I feel like he could change and transform, and that's part of the journey as a character in the Spider-Verse. - It's gonna be tougher than to do that. - You like that line? - Yeah, that was good. - I feel great. - Maybe he'll do some, what's it called? - It's a separate way. - steroids? - A zombie. - A zombie? - Maybe he'll do some ozampic. - Take a, let him be his person. - No, he's great. I just don't think he'll be a scary villain. He's a great best friend character. - Yeah. - He wears a wig in the movie. - I know. - 'Cause he's balled in real life. - Yes. - Yeah. - He seemed like a nice guy when we interviewed him. - I don't even remember. - Oh, I do remember. That was on that carpet. - Yeah, he was in the Kevin Hart movie, I believe. - He's very nice. - Oh, look, he's working out. - Yeah. - Maybe he's training for his role. - Wow. - It's gonna happen, Brian. - Yeah. I wanted to do the pick the case in the podcast because so I went out to, where was I? Where was I? - Whenever you lean on that chair, you scare me. - I know. - When I went out to Bar A, one of the bartenders, or no, Kelly's, I went to Kelly's. - Did you? - Yeah, have you ever been at Rockers? - No, no, no. That place is out of business. Kelly's in Belmar, it's like Irish pub. - Oh no. - It's really cool. We went to Kelly's. The bartender said like he loves the channel. He was like, my favorite ones are when you do the pick the case. He was like, keep doing those. I was like, deal. So I wanted to do one in the pod. - So one guy requested it and you're gonna throw it in the podcast? - Yeah, awesome. - One guy granted you to play the guitar in Scotland and you shouted out the entire business for free. - Oh, well, yeah. - You did it. But we love that place. I thought it was below average. That was like the most below average place ever. - I forget the name of it. We won't mention it. It's called VIX. - I loved it there. - It was the only bar in Scotland open until 3 AM. Okay, I wanted to do a pick a case with you. - Yeah, that's good. I wanted to do a pizza party. - I'm in. - Pick a case to build the perfect pizza party. - Are you triggering back to our childhood? - Pizza party. - Think of it as you're in elementary school. It's Friday and this is what you do. - I love the pizza party grown up. - You love pizza parties. - I'll take case number three. - Well, the first level you got your type of pizza. First level you got your type of pizza. Pick any case. - I'm not going case three. - Okay. - I'm gonna go case two. - Case two. Case number two is pineapple pizza. - That's horrible. - You can switch your case once per round, but you're stuck with what you switched to. - I'm gonna go with my gut. Case number three, let's switch it. - Case number three, you're sure. - Yes, positive. - Pepperoni pizza with hot honey. - I mean, that's the best. - That's a delicious pizza party. - Do I get Mike's hot honey? - You get Mike's hot honey. Name another type of hot honey. - Don't know any. - And obviously you get Mike's hot honey. - Mike's hot honey, I mean. - What would be your ideal pizza? - I think of pepperoni. - Pepperoni and sausage. - Okay. - Half and half. - With hot honey. - Hot honey on one side. - Case one was a buffalo chicken pizza. - Oh, I love a buffalo. - That's where I thought you were gonna go. Case four was a mushroom pizza, case five was chicken bacon, ranch pizza, case six was a white pizza. - I kind of like chicken bacon ranch. - I love chicken bacon. - It's very good, it's up there. - You're a big bacon guy. - Yeah, you dream about it. - Just give me the unhealthiest stuff on the pizza. I like it. - Next case, you get your side food pick any case. - My side food, I'm going to take case number one. - Case number one. - Case number one. - It's a Caesar salad. - Disgusting. - Do you want to switch your dishes? - No one need no chicken in it either. - No chicken in it. - Case number four. - You're sure. - Boom. - An antipasto platter. - I mean, not ideal, but we'll live with it. - You're an elementary school waiting for your antipasta. - It's a little crazy, but that's fine. - What is antipasta? - It's like an Italian charcuterie board. I think you're thinking of like antipasta as like appetizer, which is I think antipasta is Italian for appetizer. - It translates to before the meal. - Yeah, first plate before the meal, so it's basically an appetizer. - An antipasta is different. - Yeah. - It's cured meat, cheeses, and marinated vegetables. - Yeah, exactly what you said. - It's exactly what you said. - Well, that's what you get in elementary school. - Okay, I'll take it. - Case two is garlic knots. Case three was buffalo wings. Case five was spinach in order to choke dip. Case six was mozzarella sticks. - I'm impressed. - Second worst, probably, on that list. - That's okay. - Next case, you get your drink. Pick a case. - For my drink, I want case number six. - Case number six. - Go to the end. - You get to dock the peppa. - Fine. - You want to dock the peppa. - Lock it in. - Who was case number two? - Case number one was root beer. Case number two was coke zero. Case number three was spoiled milk. Case number four was you who? Case number five was water. - I just knew you who was there, but I'm not chasing it down. - I'll take Dr. Biden. - I changed it, it wasn't in there. - Wow. - But I put it in there. - Okay, thank you. - Just to please the people. - Just to please you. - I appreciate that. - So you got docked the peppa. - Okay. - And the last case, you get your dessert. Pick any case. - Not a real doctor, by the way. - Pepper. - It might have been. - Dr. Pepper. - You're taking case number five. - You sure? - Yes. - Banana split. - No. - You don't want the banana split. - Some people might like it. - I'm not a fan. - You're gonna switch your case. - Case number one. Case number one. You would never go bad with case number one in the last round. - Chocolate lava cake. - Yes. - That's pretty bad. - I saved it. The anti-poss sucks, but everything else was great. - Case two was worms and dirt. Case three was macaroons. Case four was an ice cream bar. So customize your own ice cream. And case number six was rice pudding. - Ice cream bar is good. - Did you have, um, did you have a field day?
- Yeah. - Okay, that's pretty bad. - Trust making sure. - Field day is still a thing. - Field day, they use to put a bunch of inflatables in the back of our school. - Everybody has field day. - I don't think like everyone. - Everyone has field day, but not inflatables. - So what is field day to other people? - That's the other people field day. - It's like, it's like whistleball, stuff like that. - Every school has that. - I'm almost positive. Taylor does it every year. Every community-- - But do you think it's like a jersey thing? - Yes, field days are a widespread tradition practice all over the United States and in many parts of the world. - Wow. - Field day. - It's actually so close. - Did we talk about-- - Did we talk about it? - Did everyone have-- - Did everyone have 10 pals? - You've never had 10 pals. - 10 pals? - No, I don't even like, what is it a 10 pals? - You just like wrote to like some random foreigner. - Yeah. - And like they would write you back. - Someone in like Europe. - That's creepy. - It's like texting over letter. - That's creepy. - No, but they're your age. - They're your age, yeah. - They're not your age. - They're not your age, right now. - I mean, I wouldn't use foreigner, which I feel like implies adult. - Yeah, a foreign student. - A foreign student. - Second grade and we would, or like whatever, - What does faith grade do? - What does faith grade do? - I don't remember. - My name is Brian. It's great to meet you as my pen pal. - And what would they say back? - Hey, my name is Victoria. - How do they ship that up? - To meet you. - I don't know. - With this cool fish trick. - I think it's cool. - It's faked. - It's faked. - Yeah. - The teacher's just like, - Sleaving away as definitely fake. - No, I think they do like, I don't know. You got to ask Taylor. - They also had us write letters to our favorite businesses. - Oh, and we met, the mail went in. - I didn't get anything bad. - I didn't either. - Do you know what, who'd you do it to? - I don't remember. - Dick sporting goods. - I think it might have been a big sport news. - That's not, yeah, sure. - You don't love dicks? - Yeah, I get my shoes at dicks. - All right, they just redid the dicks. - I know. - Over here. - I know. - It's a lot better now. - It is. - It's a little bigger. - You're a big fan of it. - Weirdo. - You make it a weird talk. - I wrote to Spellbinders. - Oh, I knew that. - And they never wrote you back? - No. - Wow. - I thought Spellbinders was a local surf shop where we grew up. I thought they would write back and send me some free wax or something. - Didn't you tell me, I feel like you told me this recently too. - They didn't send anything. - Okay, that's fine. - I stayed in the realm of movies. Is that okay with you? - No. - Am I allowed to do that? - No. - I felt like brand new day and then the Odyssey. I might as well talk about them. - Yeah. - Why? - I'm kidding, talk about it. Jesus, why do you have to have permission? You're a grown man. - You're a dick sporting goods. - You're eight things you didn't know about the Odyssey. - Talk to me. - The Odyssey costs $250 million to make, which is Christopher Nolan's biggest budget ever. - It's a lot of millions. I heard it paid off and it's a great movie. - There's a lot of these facts after that show you why it was so expensive. I haven't seen it yet, but I heard it's great. - No CGI. - No CGI. - It's all real stuff. - Good to Christopher over there. - The Odyssey was the first movie shot entirely in IMAX, which I don't fully understand. - Okay, so I'm gonna explain it a little bit. - Explain it. - The camera is a gigantic cube and square. - Okay, so it's a bigger camera. - And it films up to like three times the quality and also a wider frame. - Yes, I know that because if you see it in IMAX, you'll see the full movie. I saw the cut downs in regular movies, theaters, whatever they're called. - The cameras are so big that someone like the dialogue where a camera would be filming here and someone's there, they would use a mirror so that I could see your face while looking at the camera. Does that make sense? - No, I'm not sure. - Imagine there's a giant camera right here. And we're having a conversation and they're filming it. - Correct. - Sometimes on me shooting this way, they'll use a mirror to reflect so that we can have a face-to-face conversation. 'Cause there's the cameras in the way of your conversation. - Correct, I got you, I'm following. - And IMAX camera can only record three minutes before the film needs to be reloaded into it. - This just seems a little like inconvenient. - Yeah, what is the point of this? - Again, shoots higher quality, I guess. And like you got more of like the actual visual and frame, but they had to like create new casings to be able to hold the camera in like the environments that they were filming. I feel like movies are already high enough quality. Like why do you need to even up and even more? I don't know. I feel like you gotta go see it yourself. The movie is 172 minutes long. It's only eight minutes short of IMAX's physical limit. - Oh. - So you literally can't film on that camera or at least present it for more than 180 minutes. - You can't present it. - The film on it is a 70 millimeter IMAX reel and it stretches 11 miles and weighs 530 pounds. - So you're telling me you can't film a 180 minute movie on that camera? - No. - But I don't think you could like present it 'cause the file's just too big to show. - But the human race went to the moon. - Yeah. - What's your telling me? We can't use that. - Oh yeah. - That's ridiculous. The final movie was cut out and glued by hand in the last film lab of its kind. Again, it just sounds inconvenient. - It's like what's the point of this? - Everyone kind of like flips out. The other thing is that there's only like 20 to 40 IMAX theaters to be able to even watch this movie. - It is pretty cool that he did this to make it the best possible quality but it seems extremely inconvenient in shooting and for people to watch it. Matt Damon said it was the hardest movie he's ever filmed. - I can believe that, especially because no CGI. - The sideclops was built with animatronics and practical puppetry. So they actually just created a giant puppet and moved it for the movie. I guess that make you could just use CGI. I don't know how CGI works. - I don't even know. Change, graphic, what's a cuter generated image. - Oh. - Change, graphic. (laughing) - How do I do that though? - It's now our generated images. - Technology. - So it's just animation. - Yes. - Yeah, but I'm sure it's like super high-end. - CGI. - Whatever. - Champion or James in my jazz? - When they were on the boats filming in the storms. - Yes. - They were actually filmed on real ships during storms instead of using a water tank. - I knew that. And the dolphins in the movies are real dolphins that pass their boat. - You know, you keep the cameras rolling for three minutes at a time. Sometimes you catch magic. - Three minutes at a time. - Imagine that. That's gotta be horrible. - No, it's, again, it's extremely inconvenient. I don't understand what's going through this guy's head. That's all I got. That was it. It's the end of that conversation I guess. - He's done talking, folks. - He's done talking. That was all I had. - In fact, it made $51.2 million on opening day. - Didn't brand new day make like 82 million or something? - Yeah, well, blew it out the wall. - They just like filmed three-minute segments for like so long. Like didn't even make as much as Spider-Man. - Spider-Man was the second biggest opening day, I think. - Yeah? - Yeah. - Spider-Man made $30 million more than them. - I think, again, this is like my memory of just scrolling and like, I was gonna give you the top five highest grossing like first days of movies. And I think it's Avengers Spider-Man brand new day. And then it's like Avengers, Fast and Furious. And then it's another superhero movie. - Fast and Furious being on that list is crazy. - Yeah. - Well, when, what's his name was alive? - It was kinda popular. - Paul Watt. - Yeah, that show, that movie was kind of-- - That's a Furious, too, when they're in Miami. That's the best one. - Tokyo Drift. - And then what about three? And then four and five and six and seven? - Once you get to a certain point, they were like literally jumping out of cars to movie screens. - Yeah. - It was a little ridiculous. - Just keep milking this cash cow. You would do it. - Yeah, absolutely. - We're milking this cash cow. - We are milking this cash cow. - No. - No. - We're milking that now. - Look at them quality content every day. - This is quality content every day. - I could make you say anything. - You could make me say literally anything. - Don't watch it. - What are you-- - What am I gonna say? - I don't know. - You already sexualized Jarv. - Yeah, that was weird. - Yeah, why are you doing that? - I thought you said that to me. Look, you don't have to say it. You're not on camera. - Yeah, okay. - Now we all know. - What? - He did say it. - No, I didn't say it. - I didn't say it. - He did say it. - It's not true. - He's not on camera. - That's not true. - It's so weird. - So what is the most attractive thing about Jarv? - No. - It's personality. Obviously. - Okay, physically. - Physically? - Yeah. - The waves in the air. - It's an easy cop out answer. - Yeah. - Well, you actually think. - Can we? - You're the one who brought it up before. - I don't wanna talk sexual about Jarv. - You brought it up. - I brought it up because the comment section and makes you music. And then I pulled up the account and was trying to scroll through to find a comment. And I think he just lied to me about it. - No, he's so pitiful. - I think you're, 'cause I never said that. - I think you're dreaming about him. - No. - I had some weird dreams this weekend. - Not that though. - What was it about? - There was a lot. - Oh, I told you. - No one cares. - No one cares. - No one cares. - No one cares about your dreams. - It's just weird. Do you wanna talk about traveling? - Sure. - Actually, I have an odyssey topic. - Yeah. - We did this for Spider-Man. Again, we're just gonna move it to the odyssey. Well, we went from the odyssey to the odyssey. - Yeah, we did this topic. - Correct. - Correct. - And now we're gonna move it to the odyssey. - Yes, I like that. - How much money did each actor in the odyssey get paid? - Some big stars, so I'm assuming a lot. - Okay. - First one, Zendaya. - Zendaya probably made a few millie. - Then she. - She definitely did. - She made, I'm gonna say, $6 million. - So she made $5 million. - I'm not sure how much she's in the movie. - Five minutes of screen time. - Five minutes of screen time, five millie. - A million dollars per minute of screen time. - What's with her in doing this, by the way? - She did it in a dune. - She wanted, well, I think she's more in dune. - I think the first one, she was barely in. - But I think she's the main character now. - Yeah, that's fine. - But this one, $5 million for five minutes of screen time, kind of ridiculous. What about Ann Hathaway? She's just like looking in the distance in the movie too. Like she ain't even saying anything. - How much money did Ann Hathaway get paid? - Ann Hathaway, I'm gonna say, she got paid $8 million. - So she apparently gave an Oscar-winning performance. She was in the movie for 69 minutes, and she got paid $6 million. - So $1 million more than Zendaya. - Isn't that ridiculous? - That is kind of stupid. - 69 minutes for $6 million and $5 million for five minutes. - She's great and she's also pregnant. - What about Tom Holland? - Did you know that? - Yes, I know that. - Tom Holland? - What did he get paid? - Well, he made like 20 mil for Spider-Man. If he's pulling in 10 million, that'd be crazy. - He has 24 scenes in the Odyssey. He got paid $8 million more than Ann Hathaway. - Not as respected of an actor. I would say compared to Ann Hathaway, but he's one of the most popular ones. - This is true. - What about Robert Pattinson? Robert Pattinson.
to make, let's go 10 million. - He had a big part, he was in the movie for 55 minutes. - Yeah, it's huge. - He got paid $6 million. - What's with it, how'd they negotiate these contracts? - I'm not really sure. What about John Bernthal, which is the punisher? - I'm gonna say he made $8 million as well. - He made $3 million. He was barely in the movie apparently. - Yeah. - I think, I didn't watch it. - He was just kind of paid for that, paid. We do more screen time on this podcast. - We literally do. - Yeah. - And we get paid pennies compared to that. And then what about Matt Damon, the main character of the Odyssey? - He's in for 164 minutes. - One's an award-winning director and arguably the greatest effort to do it. The other one's two guys in them. - Well, yeah, that makes sense why we make pennies compared to them. - Yeah, it makes a lot of sense. - I mean, here I word you just said to me. - Matt Damon. - Matt Damon? - $15 million. - He was in the movie for pretty much the entire movie. - Yeah, he is Odysseus. - He only made 15 million. - Oh, we got it right. - I say only, you said 50. - No, I said 15. - Oh, yeah. $15 million Matt Damon made. - Oh, pretty good. - So Zendaya made $5 million for five minutes. Matt Damon made three times that for the entire movie. - I feel like he went in knowing it was a challenge. - I agree with that. - And to be selected as that person and have it to be one of the hardest movies that you've ever filmed. - It's an honor. - Yeah, I feel like they do it for fun at this point. It's like the payday comes to like after it. They want to create art. - Matt Damon has been in a decent amount of Christopher Nolan movies. So I wonder if he's just like, "Oh, Chris, thanks for asking me." 'Cause Zendaya and Tom Holland were like star-struck by Christopher Nolan apparently. - Yeah. Well, yeah, we talked about in the last podcast. Anthony said like, "People just glaze." - Oh, yeah, there's another term, please. - Yeah, there were glazing Christopher Nolan. Like, "Oh, I can't believe." - He is pretty good. - No, he's great. So can you name the three movies that Matt Damon was in that Christopher Nolan directed? - Including the Odyssey. - Odyssey? - Yes, that's one. - Interstellar. - Interstellar? - He didn't do Martian. - That's different. - He did Martian, but that's not-- - Yeah, that's not Nolan. - There's one more. He's not the main character. - No, I know. - I'm just trying to think what it would be. - I don't know how much screen time-- I've never seen this movie, which I need to see it. Took over the summer a few years ago. - Took over the summer. - Split with another movie. - Split with another, oh, Oppenheimer. - Yes, Oppenheimer, he was in. - Never seen it either. - Nine of them. - I feel like people think we're so uncultured. Has anybody seen Surf's Up? Probably not. - I was talking to my cousin last night, and he brought up Surf's Up. And I was like, "Greatest animated movie of all time." - It is the greatest animated movie of all time. Also, the Spy Kids topic did numbers. - Yeah. - We did a Spy Kids topic on short form. We posted it on our TikTok channel. It did really well. Everybody loves Spy Kids, I think. - 'Cause those are the facts that people care about. They wanna see, they wanna explore. - Exactly, I totally agree. - I had a conversation while I'm vacation with my cousins. - Did you know? - Yes. - When you were drinking 80 beers? - What age do you wanna die at? - He didn't say no. What age do I wanna die at? - I think living to 100 would be really cool. If I'm a healthy 100. - So that's an age. - That's fine. - Yeah, yeah. - I know 100's an age. - I know. - Is there a correct age, or is there a sign that it's your time to go? - I think it depends on your health and your well-being and if you're able to physically do things. - Okay, like what? - Like, like where do you draw the line? Like you're not gonna be hooping at 90 years old. - No, I might be playing golf, but I'd be playing golf pretty poorly. I think if I can walk a mile, I'm fine with living. - Just walk a mile, that's the limit. - I'd think a lot of people over the age of 80 cannot walk a mile straight. - You know my favorite fun fact that we shared? - What? - It's after 35 years old. There's like a 95% chance that you'll never sprint again. - Yeah, I'm gonna make sure to do it every year. - Yeah. - Once a year. - At least once a year. - For me, my answer was, if I can't golf anymore, I gotta hang it up. - You just wanna die? - I think so, yeah. - That could be like 45 if you get a serious leg injury or something. - Well, I'm saying if I'm getting older and there's nothing else happening, if I can't golf anymore, like what else can I do? 'Cause that includes walking, that includes being able to move. - I think the swinging is a huge thing. My dad can't play golf, really, 'cause he had so many back surgeries. - Yeah, but that's different context for him. - Yeah, no, I know. But I'm saying, if you end up getting some back surgeries throughout your life and your, my dad's age, he's 59, he can't really swing a club anymore. - That's fair. So it's like, you're kind of dating yourself to be like, I feel like 80 might be the max for a lot. Like that is a really good age to play golf. - I've golfed with a 100 year old man. - That was 93 at the time. - I don't want an a million there. - He still plays University of Maryland Golf Course multiple times per week. - They did a post about him. - That's very impressive, but I feel like that's one in a million. - Yeah. - What if you have to like shower in a chair or something like that? - Hang it up. - Can I still shower myself? - Yeah. - But you just have to sit down in a chair. - That's fine. - I would honestly choose to do that now. - Yeah. - That would be fun. Throw a chair in the shower? I would just take baths. Big fan of a bath when done right. I don't think the sign should be to die when you can't play golf anymore. I think that it should be like, if you can't walk for a while. I'm just like, if I get like, would you rather die or be put in a nursing home? I'm not gonna get put in a nursing home. Honestly, I feel like nursing homes are kind of cool. I think they're like, not good. But it's like for, but like, if you got a good one, then I guess sure. Well, that would be my goal in life. One, I don't want it to get into a nursing home. That's my goal. - Yeah. - But if I needed to, I would love to do one of those huge ones in Florida with like pool, pickleball, like bowling alleys, movie theaters, cool food court. - Really live in luxury. - It's kind of like a college, but you're just old. - Yeah, and all the old people hit on each other? - You have a girlfriend. - No, I'm not just saying. There's a lot of drama, it's just like college. - All right. - You don't have friends that hit on each other. You get to watch from a distance. - I don't think that's what you were in for. - Oh, absolutely. I'm not gonna be an old man in a nursing home hitting on the old lady across. - You, all right, let's save this. Let's save this for 60 years, hopefully. - I'm not going to the nursing home. - Oh, I'm gonna put you in a nursing home. - You're gonna put me in a nursing home. - Yeah, I want somebody to do it. I really want somebody to cut that whole segment and make us old. - Yeah. - Yeah. - Oh, we could probably upload something. Maybe we should. - It would be really funny. I'm just saying. - I think that if I could live to 100, I think that would be really, really cool milestone as long as I'm not in a wheelchair. - Ross Smith's grandma. - I know. - Turn 100. - Yeah, like if I was her, well, she's thriving. - She's crushing. - She's walking all around. She's doing all crazy. - She's like acting in these things. - She's the healthiest 100-year-old I think I've ever seen. - Yeah. The only thing is that her hearing's tough, but my grandma's hearing's horrible. She can't hear me. - Yeah, but why does she wear that hearing aid? It doesn't work. We gotta return him. Get a refund. - Okay, get a refund. - I want to talk about traveling, 'cause you're traveling. I'm traveling this week. You're traveling next week, correct? - Yeah. - Let's talk about some traveling. - Am I traveling? Aren't you going to like out? - Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. He's going to Albania. - It's nice there. It looks good. It looks fun. - You know why? - Why? - Because it's number one on the cheapest countries to travel in Europe in 2026. - Is it? - Yes. - It's not cheap. - No, it's stupid cheap. The hotels were very cheap. That's probably a big reason why you're going. - No, no, no, no. I, we want to avoid the crowds and we heard it's similar to Slovenia. Therefore, it's such a weirdo. - That's not weird. - Slovenia. - I want to see the world, Brian. You're going to the state. You're going to one country next to it. - It's two countries. - Yeah, exactly. There's one country in between. - Yeah. - That's not seeing the world. - That's seeing the same little block of different. - It's different. - You just said what you want? - You want me to go to Egypt? - Yeah, sure. - No. - Not right now. - Why not? - It's the hottest hell there. - Okay. - Why would I go to Iceland? - Go to Australia. - Iceland's super beautiful. - Go anywhere besides Europe. I hate when people say that world travelers are just going to Europe. - I'm not a world traveler. - I hate it. - I've been to Saudi Arabia. - Yeah, but you just said you want to see the world and you're going back to the same place. - I want to see it. - It's not the same place. - It is the same place. - It's like Italy and Greece are the same place. That's like here to Maine. - No, it's not. - You want a bet? - No, I'll probably ask. - You want a bet? - It's probably closer. - I don't know, maybe it is maybe closer. - No, it is. - It's probably here to Delaware. - You could drive across the country in like eight hours. - That's like New Jersey. - Yeah. - No. - New Jersey is four, five, three. - No, from the tip of New Jersey. - It's probably like five hours. - No, I will say. - To get from Cape May to the tip of New Jersey. - I'm going to see cool things. - I'm going to take a picture. - You are. - I'm happy you're going to be jealous. - But I hate you can't say you want to see the world when you're going back to the same exact place. - Is it not part of the world though? - I do like people will side with me on that. - It is. - It's a part of the world. - Yeah, and I would love to go to Delaware. - Well, yeah. - Come on. - I drive through it all the time. - I'm good on Delaware. - Blue hens. - Okay, next one. What am I talking about? What is the best? What is the best country to visit for these type of people? - Okay. - Okay. - What country has the best food experiences? - That's food experience. Let's just go with Italy. - So this was a post that gave me their recommended advice what country to go to for these things. - Is it Italy? - It is Italy. I feel like that makes sense. I don't know. I'm starting to think that it's too much of the same flavors in food. They got sauce, meatballs, spaghetti, and pizza. - And every other type of pasta. - Yes, that's fair. - So not just spaghetti. - I just feel like it's like-- - I think they have more than that though. They have a lot of cheeses. They have a lot of oils. - Oh, in the carina. - Oh, yeah. - They have a ton of stuff. - All right, Italy. - But I think that the reason why this is the best food experiences is because a lot of people say Italy is their favorite food in the world. - Yeah, I think that makes sense. - Totally fair. - Another one that I would put on the list probably Japan for seafood lovers, for sushi lovers. And then maybe Mexico is all the same thing too. - I wouldn't really say Mexico. Maybe France if you're into fancy foods. - All right, deal. - I think that's fair. - Like a crumpet. - Is it crumpet? - No idea what a crumpet is. - I don't know if a crumpet's fresh or not. Well, country would it be the best to go to for wildlife and nature? - Wildlife and nature, let's go outside of Europe. We're going to South America. - Close, Central America. - I'm sure that Brazil would be awesome. The rainforest and everything, but it is in Central America. - It's in Central America. It's gonna be Costa Rica. - It is Costa Rica. - Oh, baby. - Which I may be going there for my mom's 60th birthday. - That's sick. - I'm excited. A lot of rainforests, the Caribbean, you got the Pacific, you got all the wildlife. - If you can, rent a quad wall out there.
I heard it's very fun. I will do that. I love quad riding. Me too. It's great. You like it better than the horseback riding? Yes. You're a horse. I kicked by a horse. What's another good country for wildlife and nature? Another good one? In your opinion. Australia. Australia is great. Yeah, that's a great one. Australia's got to be up there. Sea life. The ocean life there. The ocean life. I think that, like, Thailand would be good. Somewhere over there. Don't even know where Thailand is. Where is it? South. It's, like, southeast of India. Don't know what that means. India. Yeah. It's actually pretty good. It's, like, by the Philippines. What country's the best for photography? So taking pictures as a tourist, basically? Correct. I actually think I know this one too. We're going back to Europe. What's your guess? There's, like, a bunch of. The Swiss Alps. Switzerland. No, not Switzerland. Apparently, it's Iceland. Iceland is, yes. I think they have the most waterfalls in the world. Country-wise. Maybe. I could be wrong. I've seen videos of people on boats. And, like, you have the waterfalls coming off. And it's just, like, it looks so beautiful. And you have the water. It really lights there. It's the most expensive country to travel to in the world. I do not believe that. There might be number two. There's no way. We'll see. We'll see. What do you mean, we'll see? It might be number three. I don't think it's. I don't think it's in the top 10. Most expensive countries to visit, it's three. I don't believe that. All right. What about job opportunities? Job opportunities. Has the United States of America. It's not the USA. It's. Japan. No. China. It's the Netherlands. Netherlands. That one was kind of shocking to me. That makes zero sense to me. Well, I think it's like. Pound for Pound. Oh. You know, Pound for Pound? Yeah, of course. What does that mean? Like, money. No. Like, Pound for Pound, the Netherlands has the best job opportunities. Yeah. Like, Pound for Pound fighting. Yes. It might not be the most, but in their weight class, they're punching their weight. It's kind of like relative. So, like, John Jones and Ilya DePoria, relatively Pound for Pound. Who's better? Probably John Jones. Yeah. But Ilya could be better Pound for Pound. Well, not anymore. Like, who's the best in their perspective? Yeah. So, like, class. For the size? I said, punching in the weight class. You said a lot of things, Zach. You said a lot of words there. For their size, the Netherlands is the best. Pound for Pound. What about. And then, last one, what about retirement? Best place for retirement is gonna be Florida, United States. No. Just because your parents did that. Yeah. No. It's Portugal. Portugal wasn't my favorite one I want, but it's. I think it's because it's good weather all year round. Pretty much. Is it? And it's very cheap. Like, you get. Your butt goes a long way. Pound for Pound. It's cheap. I think just. It is cheap. Yeah. I don't think. Well, Pound sure. I think Pound for Pound. I think it's just. It's cheap. It's a cheap country to coast. It's cheap over there. It's a cheap country. You'd love Colombia. I would love to go to Colombia. Never got the invite. I'll invite you sometime. I've only been twice. You're never gonna invite me. We're going to Cartagena. Cartagena, Medellin. Maybe that's where we'll do a bachelor party. Well, what the. Oh. Colombia? Yeah. That'd be crazy. Cafe Del Mar. I don't know what that is. That's a wrap on the podcast, people. That is it. Podcast 215 in the books. I hope the people like that podcast. They're gonna like it. Would they have it? He's still hungover. No, no, no, no. He's gonna throw it away. I feel like I brought all the energy. What does that have to do with anything that I just said? I just said you're a little hungover. Yeah, and I'm telling you no. There's no way. Because I brought. I brought the energy. I brought the life, the power. All right. We have a membership program. Podcast Summary
Key Points:
Cristiano Ronaldo’s wedding featured an elite guest list including Lionel Messi, Rafael Nadal, Rihanna, Drake, Travis Scott, Jennifer Lopez, David and Victoria Beckham, Kylian Mbappé, Vin Diesel, and a rumored invite to Khabib Nurmagomedov.
The list includes a mix of sports icons (Messi, Ronaldo, Nadal, Mbappé), celebrities (Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez), and pop culture figures (Drake, Vin Diesel), suggesting broad social and cultural connections.
While some connections (e.g., Ronaldo and Nadal) are rooted in shared international fame and sports, others (e.g., Vin Diesel or Travis Scott) appear more random, sparking skepticism about genuine friendship.
The inclusion of UFC fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov makes sense due to Ronaldo’s known fandom for combat sports.
The mention of “I Show Speed” as a guest is widely considered a clickbait addition, likely added for entertainment value.
The discussion also includes a humorous and speculative analysis of celebrity friendships, with participants questioning whether the level of connection is real or merely performative.
