And we looked like the most official players out there. We didn't play like the most official players. I actually played okay for me. We did. I feel like we both played okay. We did. 89. The tour championship. Which BJ tour. Yeah. She's awesome. We just played in the pro. I'm with her. She's a stick at golf. And she's only 18 or 19 years old. She's got some controversial takes. Let's get into the interview, people. We're here with our guest, Gabby Golf Girl. Hi. We met at East Lake for a tour championship. A while ago. Yeah, that was a while back. I just want to start off an ass because we never went through it. How'd you get into content and once you start playing golf? So I started playing golf really, really young, like two years old. This is like a shocker. My dad was kind of like obsessed with watching golf, but not actually playing song. Are you good? Yeah. And he basically bought some clubs from my birthday at two years old. They were like paying-- The rear of this young. Yeah. Yeah. That's what I heard about. Literally. And the clubs were bigger than me. And I had like insisted at hitting the golf ball on the pavement and not on the grass in our front yard as a whole thing. Interesting. And it's all in video. And then I had been playing golf tournaments since I was five. And so I was like a super competitive high level. I was like third in the world at 7 years old. Like that was my-- Damn. It was like my whole life. And then I kind of grew up. I still continue to play tournaments at a high level. I was going to play college D1. I was like, hey, maybe LPJ. Maybe that's the route. Then when I got to about 14 years old, I had a golf trainer, like a workout trainer, rehearsal trainer, who was doing content and went from like 800 followers to 50,000 followers in two months by post the every day. Yeah. And this is like such a niche. You post golf workout videos, not talking. This really old social media in my mind. Like, I know I'm young, but like-- Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I'm trying to win you guys. I'm sorry. We're on now. I think six years ago, we started like five and a half. Yeah. So like this guy started like seven, eight years ago. But it was a while ago, you know, different world then. So I was like, what are you doing? You have to tell me, it was over the summer. And he was like, I just post every single day. Just do it. So whenever anybody that knows me personally knows that I am like the most particular person in the whole world. Like, it's so much more than people think. And I am just so organized and so obsessive. Maybe OCD a little bit. And so when I commit to something, I commit to it for like a goal of six months. And then without stop every single day. So I did that with running, I did that with everything. So I said, I'm going to commit to posting every single day and see what happens. And I only get 10,000 followers, which sounds like a lot about I was doing like, three times. I feel like at that time too, like it's different. It was good. There was like, during COVID, like there was this big pop. Yes. Like we gained fast on COVID when we started. It was like a year into it. But like 10,000, like after a year, that was our goal. Yeah. Did you start growing on TikTok in September? You just answered just answer that. That's interesting because we started mainly solely on TikTok, yeah, and then move the audience elsewhere. I don't think I even had TikTok until like 16 years old. Because I just wasn't TikTok, I was chronically online. Don't get me wrong. But like, I was not on TikTok for several years now. And so I just went on Instagram. I was posting these videos. They were super niche. I literally even if I was sick, I had videos locked. Then I kind of like deemed a friend of a friend who had mutuals with and it was a long story. Anyways, I called him. He was a videographer for a YouTube channel at the time. Big YouTube channel. And I was like, do you want me? Can I get some advice on stuff for social media? He's like, meet tonight. Let's go. We go out to dinner. He tells me this like one golden rule. That was so important. Now that I look back on, talk to the camera. People are going to be so intrigued in your personality. I just thought, like, come on. Like, nobody cares about it, girl. I feel like I don't know. That's what I thought. You know, because no one's out there doing it. The first video I posted, then like a week later, it was a shot of me literally going, I'm going to hit below this tree, hit a hook shot, and I'm going to hit it on the fairway. Which is pretty easy for me. It is a commercial, but not easy for me. But like, I didn't realize that people had seen it. And they got like a million views overnight. And then I gained 100,000 followers for the two weeks. Damn. It was crazy. That was nuts. I saw, when I first saw your content, you were doing like a giveaway with part three, a whole and one stuff. And I just feel like like incentivizing the follow is a big part of that. Oh, yeah. And it's like if people have a chance to be invested or like want to be in on something, like your content kind of crafted that in my head. That's why I was like, oh, I want to watch this. I want to participate. I want to win the money. That's actually interesting. You started following around the whole one. Because that was a time. Man, that was such a time. It was literally right after Christmas. And we were thinking of like, what is the most viral thing we could do? And we thought, like, this is a tip that if anyone is watching, and once again, the social media, I say my biggest tip for anyone is think of the word universe. Not necessarily ruinedly, but universal. What do people think that's universal? And to me, the first thing that I thought of was money. Yeah. Who doesn't know money, you know what I'm saying? So I took money, I brought in the golf and I was like, hey, what if we just gave it away, you know? And people didn't believe I was actually gonna give money away. And I think that also shocks people too. But of course, like, people, that thing blew up. Yeah, what's more than you did a get to? It got such $2,100, something like that, maybe more. Yeah, which is great. If you're just watching content and you're entertained by the fact that you could win money you'd like watching it, like, of course, people are going to soon. The girl who won, like, I didn't know anything about it. I randomly picked it. She happened to live in like Lucuna Beach. She was a nurse. And she had just gotten so gorgeous, right? Yeah. And she had just gotten into golf and she was like, no, like, I needed this money. Thank you so much. And I was like, I just thought that was, that was so awesome for me. Talking about how you got started with YouTube golf. I have a question for the future. Okay. Would you rather be a full-time YouTube golfer or on the LPAGI tour? My answer is so controversial. 'Cause it's a grant form. It's a grant form that obviously wants to be a YouTuber. But he dabbles. He tries to get an event and stuff like that. Would you want to go that route? Or is there like a moment where you might be like, let's just full send it and go in? There's also professionals who are like leaning into YouTube golf. So it kind of goes both ways, it's true. So there's a longer answer. And it's very controversial because of my consciousness that I might just want to go LPAGI, right? Even though I've never said that before or really alluded to it, I just think 'cause I'm a girl golfer, I think they just think, okay, so therefore she wants to go pro. It's not like other sports, whereas if you were a basketball player, You did tricks. Who's the guy that I'm thinking of? You know, go on. Yep, yep. What's that? I mean, second? Oh, oh, uh, T. T. Yes, T. Yes, right. Like that. Do you say T. No, no, I didn't say. I think you should take my insight. Um, that guy, he's like, no, I don't think he's going to go pro. He's good. Yeah, amazing. But he's like tricks. And so he's more than an entered trainer. Yeah, but like people don't assume he's going to go pro. Yeah. You know, and I think with girls, because it's not like that big of a space. I think they think the only option is to go pro. So my answer is my whole life, it was LPJ. Mm-hmm. I gratefully and thankfully have gotten so many opportunities to play with LPJ tour players play an Epson tour event. Like I got in a front row seat. And I realized like ashes, not really the life I want to live right now. And that does mean that I don't play competitively. Like I play pro golf. Right now. Like I play in a tournament like every week. And I could be against all men. I'm the only girl. So like, I want to get better. I still want to play well. But it is just like, you know, I love what I get. I get so much right. You guys know, like how much fun is it? Well, even being able to play ESC because of Travis Matthew. Exactly. Going to have to be played at Wood Country Club, which is where we're filming. Just being able to do that. And like hitting in front of crowds and people. We've never done that before. Really? That was the first time in front of a live audience. And they started us on the 17th hole. The most packed sold by the guys right there. Which is the whole. If you made a hole in one, you make a million dollars. Which is, I hit my shot thin. Good shot. It was all mine. But like, I was here for the sound of it. I was like, it wasn't as good as double bogey the whole because, you know, I thought it was it. The bunker. It was tough. I borrowed the whole. You borrowed the first two. I have a question for you. Yeah. If you had to guess, we played around yesterday. all together. If you had to guess our handy caps, what would you guess? >> It's amazing. So my friend and I, we were talking about it last night, we genuinely thought, we thought you were amazing. We thought, we were not expecting how good that you guys were, like that's not that, you know. >> I feel like we didn't even show it. >> The door was slow and you guys were here. I'm going to say like in a condensed area. >> I would agree with that. >> Florida has some gorgeous private golf courses. Not a great selection of public ones. >> Yeah. >> Because I have played a lot of them. I play all the tournaments there. California has better public golf courses and has gorgeous privates. >> Okay. >> I'm going to say California. >> Okay. >> California. >> I know it's hard like that. Florida golf to me, like the private golf courses. >> It's similar. >> They're exceptional, they're great. But like there's too much water down there. >> It's too much water. It's the same type of layout every single time. Here, you can't compete. California in all categories on this one thing is that they have so much vegetation. You've got the mountains. You've got so much variety. And in golf, how can you, one state and you've got every type of golf? >> Yeah. >> Can I ask you what your favorite course in each of those states is? >> Yeah. >> Just right on the back. California, sure kind of, like our disc golfers are playing. >> Okay. >> Florida, this is tough. I'll go to Westchester, I'll go to New York first. My favorite golf course in New York is in between two. >> You're going to go to Long Island? >> No, I'm not. And I've played in Long Island. >> I've played in Long Island. I have a lot of favorites in New York. My favorite public golf course. If you guys ever get the chance, there's two. One in Innis, which up north, aboard New York, if you ever get the chance. And then huts and hills. It's like not the best, it's nostalgic for me. That's a public golf course. It's a great place. >> Okay, that's like the home course. >> Yeah, I grew up playing there. Do these golf trends deserve to stay or go? Okay. Malit putters. Go. Go? I love blades. I think they're just like, we all use blades here. So then we all should be like, oh, you know, I'm not a fan of them. My friend was like, you should buy one. It's better. Yeah, I like the blade. I've tried the mouth so many times. It's just so weird looking. Like, I feel like I'm hitting driver and I just want to hit a one-hit putter. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. So I saw a video the other day where it was a bunch of guys talking about they did some research and it was like, Malit putters do definitely make you better at golf. Like, if you talk to a blade putter and they say that you're wrong, they're totally incorrect. I'm just stubborn. I'm a blade putter. But I will say, I think it's true. I just think once you get it in your head, I think it's all mental. And for me, if I put a mallet putter on the guy like, I can put a great stroke within all the pro swapplers will say that the mallet is better. Yeah. But it's just how it feels. So putting things all that feeling like the blade is so good for swapputs for me. Yeah, you know, I just know it's going in the hole. So, so we're saying Malit's out. Malit's got to go for me. Next one, barefoot golf. Oh, that's great. Keep it. I've never done it. I want to do it. So awesome. Let's do it today. Let's do it today. Yeah. All right, let's go. The Travis Matthew shoes were very comfortable. They don't make them so I'll just go all go. Okay, so we're keeping that. Do you think that it should be allowed on every course? I think after a certain time. Yeah. Yeah. We're playing a 4 p.m. Yeah, like after after after three, after three, you should be able to go. I'm doing. I don't know if you use one or have used one or not. Many drivers. I love many drivers. Yeah, say I've hit one on the range. It was mostly heighted. Yeah, it's a great club. I don't find any use for it. I love having it in the bag. It makes me feel special. I never use it even in tournaments. Like I'll make up or in excuse us to why I need a mini driver on this hole. And it hits me fine. But I can totally hit a driver or a three. And I just want to feel good as I go out there. I'm like, look what I have. You know, and it's so bad.
