A promotional segment highlights Lowe’s Pro Desk as a tool for fast, accurate material quotes, accessible via handwritten or photo lists, with access to thousands of off-shelf products. The segment is paired with a promotion for Apple Card, emphasizing unlimited daily cash back on purchases like groceries and tickets. A central narrative revolves around a viral 2023 YouTube debate about whether $500,000 or a dinner with Jay-Z is more valuable—later re-confirmed in Drake’s 2026 album *Ice Man*, where a lyric directly references the original topic. This resurgence sparked a wave of social media engagement, with major music accounts like XXL sharing and resharing the moment, leading to widespread recognition of the podcast’s content. The discussion also touches on broader cultural topics, such as Disney conspiracy theories, the meaning of names in films, and the evolution of lifestyle trends from 1970 to 2026. The podcast concludes with a nostalgic reflection on past experiences like Blockbuster, school computer classes, and mall culture, while also highlighting shifts in social norms, such as marriage rates, student debt, and neighbor interactions. A final segment introduces a fan-driven poll for future content, including a potential rap battle or monologue, with the show ending on a note of community and shared memories. The episode blends humor, cultural insight, and viral trends, reinforcing its connection with audiences through relatable, evergreen topics.

us in his album ice man he kind of did yeah you want to hear the background i do want to hear the
background brian okay so we posted a short form clip titled would you rather have 500k or a dinner
with jay-z back on november 27th 2023 okay and drake dropped a new album it's called ice man he
actually dropped three albums we went on to discuss in the video that we would rather have the money
but some people in the comments were debating
do they want the dinner with jay-z what's worth more i don't think there's anything in this world
that jay-z could say to me that's going to be worth more than 500 000 in my hand cash right
now i agree but the internet was divided at the time they were fast forward to 2026 this past week
drake releases three albums as you said in one night one of the albums was titled ice man yes
ice man's the best one i think one of the songs on the albums was titled whisper my name yes it
was and that was i think the third one on the billboard it's the third song theory the third
song on an album is usually the hit it's my it's my thing i came up with it okay in that song there
is a lyric referring to the hypothetical that we gave in 2023 the lyric says word for word i'll take
500k not the dinner i never could learn shit from none of y'all what does that spell shite yeah you
can't say that and xxl which is a huge rap instagram page they have 9.1 million followers
posted the lyric with a picture of drake
and jay-z and my face right in the middle in this studio it has 25 000 likes and a ton of reshares
we got mentioned all over for this i got text messages i got screenshots pictures links i don't
really understand why your face was there because i was the title screen i know but like how did
someone find that do they reflect back and be like oh those guys debated on the podcast i think our
video got a ton of views and it stood out yeah and those rap accounts actually take note of that i
guess so it got a ton of views and it stood out yeah and those rap accounts actually take note of
that we posted on a bunch of different rap and music accounts so now we can officially say that
drake and little baby have watched our channel and love our content oh okay we're basically best
friends we basically are yes so drake and little baby if you guys ever want to come on the podcast
the seat is open okay i'm gonna end the bit and the bit it wasn't actually us right well i think
that it was a hypothetical and maybe we made it more famous because it was definitely hot at the
time like i feel like we saw it on reddit or we saw some sort of page or conversation about it
yeah
it was being talked about by a lot of people it definitely was it was it was a hypothetical out
there and we just repurposed it and asked each other like our opinion on it so we amplified it
we amplified it and i think our video did really well i don't know what platform or all platforms
but i feel like we kind of like blew it up maybe i don't know and who knows maybe it's the debate
and the topic or maybe it was our bad take yeah i just don't think there's anything you could say
at a dinner with jay-z it wasn't a bad take i thought that was the normal take well i what did
you say 500k yeah absolutely i would never
what is the what's the point of having a dinner with jay-z that doesn't that doesn't make it
mandatory for him to follow up after that i also don't think like 50 000 i would do the same thing
i would take the cash yeah i would maybe even 5 000 i would do it for 10 grand 10 grand yeah
maybe five grand i'd be i'd probably still take five now now if it's like a charity auction or
something like people would pay more money for dinner with jay-z i get that but like if i'm doing
it to get the knowledge i'm not gonna be able to wrap what if it was a dinner with kanya i think
it's the same uh scenario really
no i'm what am i gonna learn from connie no i'm just saying just for well this is also just for
like fun purposes too like to say like now you're kind of acquaintances with jay-z or con but i think
the whole debate is about like you're gonna get this knowledge what if it was a dinner with tiger
woods well you might have other problems 10k no i'm not dinner i'm not doing that i'm not paying
10 000 again charity dinner with jesus christ i think you have to take the dinner i think you
gotta take you have to you gotta find out what happened what's real what's not yeah i would pay
any amount of money to have dinner with jesus christ are you going to heaven how
I hope so.
I hope so, too.
I'm trying my hardest out here.
I'm trying to.
You know who's not going to heaven?
Who?
I was going to say Drake, but that doesn't make sense.
Welcome back to the podcast.
You know they don't allow balds in heaven?
Stop it.
They don't.
I need a hair transplant.
You do.
That's what you're saying to me.
I'm kidding.
They allow balds.
3-2-0-3.
2-0-4.
It's 2-0-4.
2-0-4.
Yeah, we're flying.
Podcast 204.
We're almost at 300.
Yeah, we are.
If you think about it.
I was going to say it for you, but yes, you should have the stage to say it yourself.
No, you can say it.
Brian.
I'm Brian.
Shot a 100 and then followed it up with an 80 on the golf course.
We did.
We played 36 holes.
Sorry, that's 18 plus 18 is 36.
Yes.
We played 36 holes in one day.
We played in a tournament for Golf Digest.
So shout out Golf Digest.
We have a partnership with them.
They're amazing.
We're going to be at a lot of their tournaments and events throughout the year.
I shot 100.
You shot an 82 in the tournament.
Which I don't know how you felt about this.
I felt like you got down during that.
I felt like you got down during that round, but I love tournament golf.
I do too.
I love it.
Like I love having to finish every putt and feel like, hey, like there's actually pressure
on this moment.
I love it too.
I just played horrible.
I shot in the triple digits, which I've only done probably three times in the past year.
Yeah.
I mean, you were cruising off an 89, 90, 90.
The last three rounds.
My past four rounds was 89, 90, 90, 91.
So I was kind of cooking for my, for my standard.
Yeah.
Then I shot that 100.
It was made me super depressed.
Yeah, I know.
But then I had a cheeseburger.
Yes.
Cheeseburger revived him.
And I came out and I shot an 80 on the golf course on a pretty challenging golf course.
Can I just say something new?
Yeah.
I don't think I've ever seen you hit three birdies total ever.
No, I think I have.
I hit a birdie in, I hit a birdie on our trip at that course on the first round.
But before that, I think I've only had two other birdies.
Yeah.
I doubled it.
I remember you hit one to like three feet on hole two at like Lakewood or something
like that.
Do you want to pop up the Grint score?
Well, yeah.
I was going to say you could have actually followed your round live on the Grint.
Yes.
Pop up my score.
Pop up my score here.
Pop up your score here.
Your 82 and my 80.
Yeah, we can pop those up.
And if we, if my second round and your first round were combined, we would have finished
qualified, tied first place in the Golf Digest Open.
But that didn't happen.
It didn't happen.
Also, I want to say, because one of the higher ups at Golf Digest asked me the question,
did you finish every putt?
I just want to clarify for the audience.
I had two gimme's that you gave me, but it was following a round where I shot a hundred.
So I wasn't, I wasn't.
It wasn't expected for me to shoot my record low.
The other thing too, the one gimme we gave you, the first one.
Yeah.
It was literally a foot and a half.
I know.
I know.
You were walking up to the green.
You're like, oh, that's good.
And we're like, it was a foot and a half.
Like you're not missing that.
And then the other one was like probably two and a half feet.
Yeah.
Two and a half.
But still like you gave it to me.
I wasn't expecting to shoot an 80.
Yeah.
I was expecting to like maybe shoot 90.
Well, I had no idea where you were like in terms of score until you said you go, should
I say it on 18?
I was like, oh shoot.
I had a puffer in really well.
So that's, we don't have to talk about more about golf.
But I just wanted to make it clear.
I didn't finish every putt.
So I guess it's not like a real, like 100.
No, Brian, it's real.
We'll take.
It's definitely real.
I just feel bad.
No.
When there was an 80, even if you missed one of those putts, an 81 is phenomenal for you.
No, yeah.
That would have been eight strokes better than your best score.
No, I know.
It was great.
Awesome.
The other thing I wanted to say just for the people, we have not done the blind rankings
in real life.
We have not.
And the only reason, listen, you have to understand we've been running around and busy.
We've been very busy.
We have.
And I don't think we can announce it, but like.
We have stuff coming that people are going to be excited for.
We're working on a project.
Yes.
There's a, yeah.
And it's not the makeshift project.
Well, yeah.
It's a, it's another branch in our spider web.
Subsidiary.
Sure.
Vocab word.
It's a good word.
Word of the day.
Yeah.
So we have something coming for you guys.
It's going to be big.
It's going to be, it's going to be exciting.
We have a lot of guests we're working with, like big time guests.
Yeah.
I think we should get back to the blind rankings in real life.
I think we will get one out within the next two weeks.
Two weeks.
Yeah.
I think we could film one next week.
I want to say this too.
Did you watch the MMA fight?
Ronda Rousey?
On Netflix.
Yes.
Yeah.
Shout out Netflix for having us at the interview with Ronda Rousey.
I did.
It was five seconds.
Five seconds.
17 seconds.
The other fights were good.
Yes, they were.
Nate Diaz got super bloody.
Well, I just want to say this.
I think I've previously stated that like maybe I could last in the ring for, I don't know,
two minutes with Ronda Rousey.
Yeah.
No shot.
Yeah.
I know.
Ronda Rousey annihilated Gina Carano.
Yeah.
I mean, she, she's like a boulder of a hero.
She's like a human.
She's just humongous.
I just, I didn't realize it when we interviewed her.
She's shredded.
That, yeah.
And you don't realize until, you know, they, they cut weight.
And that's her signature move, the arm bar.
I didn't know that.
Yeah.
She's tapped a lot of people out.
She went right to it.
Yeah.
Exactly.
The arm bar's painful.
Exactly.
Never.
It's not fun.
Okay.
Moving on.
Unless you have another update.
No, that's the only updates I have.
Okay.
Yeah.
I wanted to potentially start the podcast with this, but then Drake decided to hit us
up and be like, Hey, I'm going to mention you guys on my album.
I know.
That was pretty nice.
I wanted to start with this, but we're doing it now.
Again, I don't know.
It was directly towards us.
It probably wasn't, but that's fine.
Good word.
Very vocab word.
Do you believe these crazy Disney conspiracy theories?
Talk to me.
Disney made Frozen because they want to cover up people searching Disney Frozen to find
Walt Disney's conspiracy.
chronol. Try it again.
Try it again.
Run it back, Turbo.
Disney made Frozen
because they want people
to cover up people
searching Disney Frozen
to find Walt Disney's
cryogenically frozen body.
100% believe.
Yes, I don't know
if I said that word right.
I think Walt Disney is frozen.
Okay, and they want
to cover it up.
100% believe.

Okay.
Is it his head or his body?
Isn't it just his head?
When I was younger,
my mom is a big fan
of Walt Disney as a human.
My mom said it was his body
because they could bring him
back to life potentially
when they invented it.
I didn't invent those inventions.
Okay.
Fair.
But some people say
it's his head,
which I don't understand.
I just think
when you search Disney Frozen,
you're getting Elsa,
you're getting Olaf.
I am in.
I'm in.
You're no longer getting
Walt Disney's head.
I'm in.
I also think,
I want to state,
a lot of people think
I'm a conspiracy theorist.
A lot of the time,
I'm going with a bit
and nobody's understanding
that as a joke.
But this one.
But this one,
I am all in.
I'm all in.
Okay.
I'm all in.
Marlon from
Finding Nemo
is delusional from grief.
Because he lost his wife.
Okay.
So the barracuda
ate his wife
and every egg
in the sea and enemy.
Good job pronunciating.
Nemo is a hallucination
that manifests his grief
and journey to find Nemo.
No.
Yes.
I don't believe that.
It's a metaphor
for finding himself again
after his loss.
I don't think I buy this one.
You ready for this?
I'm ready for it.
Nemo means
no one in Latin.
No, it doesn't.
Yes, it does.
Which means no one's there.
So the movie's really about Marlon.
He's chasing himself.
Oh my God.
Oh my God.
He's trying to find himself.
It should be called
Finding Marlon.
So does he actually go
on that adventure?
Like is Dory real?
I think Dory
and everything is real
but I think it's finding himself
and Dory helps him find himself.
How cute.
It's all about the journey
but it's not to find his son.
I kind of like his son
being a real thing.
Okay.
But that is kind of cool.
I never realized
that it means no one.
It's a lot more wholesome.
Yeah, definitely.
The main characters
of Winnie the Pooh
all represent
different mental disorders.
I actually
makes a lot of sense.
So Winnie is
Winnie.
Well, no.
Eeyore has to
be depressed.
Eeyore has
major depressive disorder.
Yes.
Tigger and Winnie
both have ADHD.
Makes sense.
Piglet has
generalized anxiety disorder.
I believe that.
He's very shy.
Yeah, he's shaking
all around.
He's freaked out.
I'm sure there are
other characters
but those are the ones I got.
Yeah, I mean
that makes sense.
They also made the movie
Inside Out
after that.
Which doesn't
correlate at all.
Yeah.
Why'd you say that?
I don't know.
I'm losing my mind.
We took a red eye
last night.
Peter Pan
is actually the villain.
In Peter Pan.
Why is he the villain?
It's not Captain Hook.
I don't understand
that at all.
So Hook was just
trying to stop Peter
from kidnapping
innocent children.
I thought Captain Hook
was kidnapping children.
He is
but he's saving them
and rescuing them
and all the pirates
that are children
on his ship
are the children
he rescued from Peter.
But what is Peter
trying to do
with these children?
I don't know.
He's capturing their dreams
or something like that.
I don't know.
I don't buy that one.
You're not buying that one?
I think that one's
a little bit of a reach.
So we're going
Disney Frozen.
Disney Frozen
is 100% true.
And maybe Nemo.
Maybe Nemo.
I believe the Winnie the Pooh one too.
Okay, that's fair.
I believe that one as well.
Fun.
Fun stuff.
Fun stuff.
It's a fun podcast.
We've been
We're having fun.
We've been having
some viral videos recently.
Like millions and millions
and millions of view
and we haven't gotten
like super viral videos
in a while.
Yeah.
It's fun and exciting
when you bring something new
and it actually hits and works.
It is.
So I have one.
Okay.
So we did six companies
that will send you
a graduation gift.
I have a part two for it.
Let's go.
These six companies
will send you
a graduation gift
if you email them.
Okay.
Okay, ready?
First one, Funko Pop.
What do you think they send you?
Funko Pop?
You know Funko Pop?
Those are the
the Funko Pops?
These guys.
This guy right here?
These guys are Funko Pops.
Okay.
They send you
a graduation version
of a Funko Pop.
Close enough.
They send you
a mystery Funko Pop.
So I think
a random character
that they have
and stickers.
You should be able
to scan your face
and they create one
of you graduating.
I think they do that already.
That'd be sick.
But they don't send it for free.
Crocs
sends you stuff.
Crocs sends you
a pair of Crocs.
Graduation themed.
They don't.
But they do send you
something for your Crocs.
What?
They send you
discount codes for Crocs
and then they send you
free charms for your Crocs.
You know the things
you put in the Crocs?
Yeah, what are those
things called?
Charms.
Are they?
Yes.
I thought they were
like plugs.
They're called charms.
Okay, got it.
Red Bull sends you stuff.
What do they send you?
They send you wings.
What?
Red Bull gives you wings.
They don't give you
physical wings.
It's in the slogan.
No, they don't send you wings.
They send you
new cans, new flavors to try.
They send you stickers.
They send you
free drink coupons
so you get free Red Bull
and then they send you
Red Bull hats
which I kind of want
a Red Bull hat.
That'd be kind of sick.
I love when the people
have the backpacks
on the street
and they're just
handing them out.
So good.
Great marketing.
Great marketing.
Panda Express
sends you
sesame chicken.
Well, kind of.
They send you
free entree coupons
so you get free meals
at Panda Express.
Graduation's a big deal.
I feel like why not?
Prime Hydration
sends you stuff.
They send you
new flavors to taste.
Come on, give it to me.
They kind of do.
They send you
hydration samples.
I don't know
if that's new flavors
or just samples
from existing flavors
and Prime stickers.
Are they asking
for something back
so try these samples,
get feedback
on how you like it?
I don't think so.
They're not influencers
that are asking for this.
It's just regular people
that graduate.
I just feel like
it's a good opportunity
to get feedback
as a company
but I'm too corporate sometimes.
And then the last one,
this one's for the women.
Sephora sends you stuff.
Makeup?
Do you know what Sephora is?
Yes, I do, Brian.
What is it?
I got the Dyson airbrush
for my girlfriend for bed.
What is it?
It's like I was in a zoo.
I had no idea
what was happening.
What is it?
A lot of black and white stripes.
What is it?
It's a makeup store.
Okay.
So you got makeup there.
Okay.
They send you blush.
Pretty good, yeah.
And makeup.
Not specific things.
And eyeliner.
They send you free sample bags
with small product in it.
I'm sure they give you lotion.
I feel like my girlfriend,
any woman,
would love free Sephora product
for graduation.
Yeah, especially
if they send you some good ones.
So if you graduated,
you might as well email
these companies, try it out.
Or you could be lazy
and not do it.
I haven't done it.
You know, I emailed,
did you do this
in like second grade
where it was like
send a letter
to your favorite business
and see if they answer?
No.
You never did that?
I did that like in my class.
I might have done it
in my class.
But I just have no idea
who I wrote.
You know who I wrote to?
Hubba Bubba.
No, that's a good guess.
Hubba Bubba Bubblegum.
What was that?
Yeah, it's hard to say.
See?
It's a tongue twister.
Not even saying it anymore.
I sent it to Spellbinders.
Spellbinders.
You know what that was?
Surfing?
That was the surf store
in Allenhurst, New Jersey.
Closed now?
They closed.
They also didn't send me anything.
Well, they're like
a local business.
Yeah, but I thought
they would like to hear
from a second grader
being a big fan.
I'm sure they were.
Everybody got like shirts
from like their favorite companies
and like.
Yeah, because they probably
sent stuff to like Nike.
I know.
And like Adidas.
You sent it to a local shop.
I thought I would have
a better response
getting answered
because there's so many people
at Nike.
I feel like the one guy
at Spellbinders would be like,
oh my God, thank you so much.
Here's a free surfboard
or something.
Free surfboards.
No, not a free surfboard.
All I wanted was a sticker.
Or wax.
Or wax.
Yeah.
My mom just texted me.
I graduated seven years ago today.
Does she hear us?
No, she sent me a picture.
She got a memory on Facebook.
Was that weird?
I feel like that was weird.
We were just talking
about graduation.
I graduated from
Rutgers University
seven years ago today.
It was hot out
when I graduated.
It was.
I took my shirt off.
Did you?
Yeah.
Weirdo.
I unbuttoned it
and went like this.
Ah, some great,
great years and memories.
Why are you so awkward
on transitions?
I'm not.
I want to talk about
some of the best years
of all time.
Okay.
I don't want you to decide.
I have literally
the direct opposite
of what you're going
to talk about.
Oh, worst years of all time?
I have the worst year
of all time.
Well, we're going
to go through it.
This is awesome.
There's a lot of variety here.
Okay.
I love variety.
That's why it's makeshift.
What was the best year
to be alive?
Probably 2016.
It was actually a great year.
It was a fantastic year.
1927 or 1945?
1927.
Was that the Roaring Twenties?
So I have information for you.
Talk to me.
Lindbergh crossed
the Atlantic alone.
The hell's that guy?
Babe Ruth hit 60 home runs,
the first talking movie premiered,
and the world was roaring.
The Roaring Twenties.
Roaring Twenties.
Yeah, it was a happy time,
honestly.
1945, World War II ended,
soldiers came home,
cities erupted in celebration,
and the world exhaled
for the first time in six years.
I'm going to say 1945.
1945?
If the World War II ended.
Babe Ruth hit 60 home runs.
I'm okay.
You're just going to
neglect that?
Babe Ruth is not a great athlete.
Oh.
He ate hot dogs,
smoked cigarettes,
and drank beer on the sidelines.
That's the most impressive thing.
Now you're going to say
John Daly's not a great athlete?
No.
Are we going to go there?
No, I'm kidding.
They're both great athletes.
1945, you're taking it.
I'm just saying I could
beat them in a running race.
This next one's going to,
you definitely can.
That's all I'm saying.
You definitely can.
1945 or 1955?
Okay.
In 1955, Disneyland opened,
rock and roll exploded,
the polio vaccine was declared safe,
and there's post-war optimism
that peaked.
Did you say the rock
and roller coaster opened?
No, rock and roll exploded.
Oh.
Like the genre.
What was the first one?
Disneyland opened.
Yeah, we'll go with that.
Yeah, I know.
I'm sorry.
World War II is pretty
freaking good to be done with.
No.
I feel like I have to go World War II.
Over Disneyland?
Disneyland or Disney World?
Disneyland.
Get out of here.
Oh.
World War II is way better that it ended.
Okay.
Disneyland's in California, right?
Yes, I think so.
That's lame.
1945 or 1969?
69 was a great year.
Everyone talks about 1969.
It's the summer of 69, baby.
1969, humans walked on the moon.
False.
You couldn't even.
Not true.
You hesitated a little bit.
Humans walked on the moon.
Woodstock happened.
The Beatles released Abbey Road,
and the world felt limitless.
And the summer of 69.
Are we going like actual best year?
Yeah, I want you to decide.
It's probably World War II ending.
Oh, come on.
It definitely is.
Abbey Road, the Beatles.
If we're talking about one of the most fun years of all time,
it's definitely 69.
All right, Brian, way to make this not fun.
All right, this is 1969.
No, no, no, do what you want.
I just don't want to get shouted out by the people.
Okay, 1945.
You're sticking with it.
1945.
1945 or 1989.
In 1989, the Berlin Wall fell.
Families separated for decades reunited,
and the Cold War ended,
and decades of division ended with it.
Another good one.
Yeah, Cold War versus World War II.
Let's change it up.
We'll go 1989.
Really?
Why not?
Wow.
Where did the Cold War take place?
So the Cold War didn't actually like have fights and battles.
That's why it's called the Cold War.
I'm not good at war history.
I think at least.
Is that the Cuban Missile Crisis?
We sound like an idiot.
I feel like that is.
I can't even.
I can't even speak.
1989 or 2016?
2016.
Best dunk contest of all time.
Okay.
2016.
You don't have to read it.
2016, you had the best dunk contest of all time.
2016.
The whole world went outside to play Pokemon Go.
2016.
The Cubs finally won the World Series after 108 years.
2016.
And we were all interacting with each other again.
2016.
You're locking that in.
It's the best year of my life.
I mean, completely.
So I haven't experienced any other years.
I'm going to say 2016.
That's our first year of college?
Wrapping up the first year?
Yeah.
We're going into second.
No.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, 2016 was.
No, no.
Yes.
2016 was, yes.
2016 was our spring semester of our freshman year and our fall semester of our sophomore
year.
And that was an awesome year.
Pretty fun.
You want to talk about the worst year in history?
Yeah.
Let's just bounce to it.
Is this also King of the Hill?
No.
Okay.
I'm just telling you about 536 AD.
Wait.
What?
The year 536 AD was the most terrifying year in human history.
Let me guess.
The Black Plague.
536 AD.
I don't.
Yeah.
You think the Black Plague was in AD?
I don't know when it hit.
I have no idea.
It's not in 536 AD.
I think it might be after that, right?
Yes.
Obviously.
Who knows?
You never know.
We definitely know.
1346 to 1353.
I was like halfway there.
Oh, my God.
Okay.
Okay.
The first thing that happened is the world disappeared into darkness.
What do you think that means?
Is it like a lunar eclipse and like the world went dark?
Or solar eclipse?
No.
So, a random mysterious volcanic fog blocked sunlight across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East for nearly 18 months.
I thought you were going to say minutes.
18 months.
18 months of darkness?
Darkness and volcanic fog that came from who knows where.
I wonder how many people died.
Probably a lot.
Oh, geez.
Summer turned into winter.
That doesn't make any sense.
So, global temperatures collapsed after sunlight vanished, causing summer snowfall in China and. And massive crop failures across entire civilizations worldwide.
I think I remember talking about something along these lines.
No, we definitely did.
In 536 AD?
Yeah.
I think I mentioned like the volcanoes erupted and like changed like the temperature or something.
It changed everything.
There was crop failures.
They had no food.
People were dying all over the world.
That's a great topic.
Another thing that happened, the plague destroyed half the world.
So, why are you yelling at me?
It wasn't the black plague.
Yeah, but it was a plague.
Okay.
It was a plague.
It's the same thing.
Cold temperatures and famine weakened humanity.
Helping the deadly plague of Justinian kill nearly half of the global population.
How many people were alive back then?
Like a thousand?
I'm sure more than a thousand.
It was definitely more than a thousand.
Half the population died because of this plague.
I mean, insane.
So, everyone was living in Europe?
Is that like correct to say?
There was. No.
I just said China.
Ah.
Well, China and Europe?
There's people all over the place.
Okay, okay.
And the last thing, civilization collapsed into a dark age as food disappeared and economies
fell.
Gold lost value because survival became more important than wealth or luxury across collapsing
kingdoms.
You know, I was thinking about this recently.
Were you?
No, no.
Not that.
Similar to the last point you made.
It's like Cleopatra.
Yeah, what about her?
Wore like all this jewelry, very fancy, whatever.
Are people going to look at us and be like, oh, that guy had a Gucci, he had Gucci flip
flops on.
And like, that's what proved his luxury.
You know what I'm saying?
Probably.
Like, oh, he had designer brands.
Like Beyonce and stuff.
Like, it's. Is Beyonce kind of like Cleopatra?
She's not like a ruler of the world.
No, but like in terms of like showing your wealth.
Yeah, I think so.
I was like, why do people care about expensive things?
I think so.
I think you look back into like the early 1900s and you define wealth off of like how
nice their suits are.
Yeah.
So, yes.
And people do that in business now too.
And like they wore pearls and diamond earrings.
So, yes, I think so.
I saw something else that was very interesting that said like you always, like you see someone
driving a fancy car.
Yeah.
And you're like, oh, I wish I had that car.
Yeah.
You're never saying the guy who drives that car is so cool.
You're right.
And it's like, and if you're the guy in the car, like you're hoping that someone else
compliments you.
You don't actually care that you have the car.
So, it's like this like. Yeah.
I mean, I'm not into that.
I feel that way with jewelry, cars, like luxury products, private jets.
Like are people doing it for convenience?
We do not own any of that.
No.
I don't think I'll ever own any of that.
The only thing that I might buy is like a cool Rolex.
Yeah.
Like that's something that I would like to have just for like personal.
Let's just like invest.
Yeah.
Well, it also. It also, yes, retains wealth, if not increases over time.
So, it's almost like an investment.
And it would be a. I feel like when you give somebody a Rolex as a gift, you could say you made it.
Yeah.
That'd be pretty cool.
That feels very cool.
Yeah.
That's it.
That's all you had to say.
Was that everything you had?
The plague?
That's it.
536 AD?
536 AD.
What does AD stand for?
After death.
Nice, Brian.
That's not what it stands for.
Yes, it does.
It doesn't stand for after death.
What's it stand for?
It's a Latin phrase.
It stands for Anno Domini, in the year of the Lord.
That's. That's so against what I learned in CCD.
No, AD does not stand for after death.
It is an abbreviation for the Latin phrase Anno Domini, which translates to in the year
of our Lord.
Okay.
I guess.
Again, against what I learned, but that's fine.
If AD stood for after death, it would ignore the roughly 33 years of Jesus' life, as AD
directly follows 1 BC.
So, yeah.
Okay.
Interesting.
It's not after death.
Whatever.
I'm over it.
Disrespecting the Lord.
Jesus was born.
And zero.
So, we were born in the 90s.
1990s.
If you were born in the 90s, you probably remember these things.
I bet I do.
Okay.
I have five things for you.
You tell me if you remember them.
Let's do it.
You probably remember going to Blockbuster every Friday night to get a movie on VHS, DVD,
or video games.
Hell yeah, I do.
I also remember grabbing snacks from the movie theater snack section.
They had a great snack section.
One of the best.
I also loved renting video games.
Oh my God.
Jet X20.
Such a good game.
Jet X20?
The jet ski game.
Oh.
So good.
I didn't know that.
So good.
I did think that was an underrated part that people skip over.
Oh my God.
Like, as a kid, like, I cared about the movies a little bit.
I cared more about the video games.
You know what I also liked?
I liked going into GameStop and going into the already played, the used section, and
getting video games for like $1.
You could still do that.
I know, but it's not worth it.
Yeah, it's not as fun when you're an adult.
You probably remember how excited you got when your teacher would roll in the box TV
on the cart.
Yes, hell yeah.
That meant movie day.
Perfect.
You can access thousands of products beyond what's available in store or on
Lowe's.com right from the Lowe's Pro Desk.
Just like that at Lowe's.
AppleCard.com.
Hell yeah, brother.
That was awesome.
Also, those TVs like half the time like barely worked.
Yeah, I mean, they're tough.
I feel like they're like kind of relics now.
Or the projector.
Like collectible items.
The projector was a 50-50 hit or miss because sometimes they put like math equations on there.
Sometimes they would project movies.
On projectors?
Yeah.
I guess like newer times, but not the original ones.
You put like the laminated paper.
Yeah.
And then you use the white marker.
It's pretty cool.
It's how far we've come.
That's.
That sucked.
You probably remember having a whole class in school where you learned how to use computers.
Yeah.
What was that class called?
Computers?
Computers.
Was it actually?
Miss Warden.
I also.
How about that for a poll?
I remember her.
I also had a handwriting class.
Yeah.
And I just wrote in script.
I've never used that.
I don't think kids learn script anymore.
They definitely.
There's no need.
There's no need to learn it.
But I have.
So my girlfriend's cousins, the baby cousins, they write in cursive.
I was like, where'd you learn that?
We learned computers.
Yeah.
We're like, yeah.
What's command. see me they should copy they should teach that class in old people homes they definitely should
they need it more than kids these days i bet you miss warden's doing that i hope so she taught
computer she was great she's still i just still don't know how to type i type with my fingers
you do yeah i don't use the old like this yeah chop what yeah no you don't i swear to god type
hi my name is zach that's insane i can't i can't use it that's so weird don't yell at me for that
that's so weird i'm a pretty fast typer you're a beta we should do a speed a speed match me
versus you i would dominate i have five fingers no you're wrong i type fast you type fast for
using two fingers we could see words this order probably hates you if she saw this she'd be very
disappointed i just could never do it i forgot the game that we used to play you probably remember
being able to sit down in pizza hut and actually enjoy your meal yeah 100 they actually had the
best like restaurant setup yeah it was sick they had a buffet they had the salad bar which i never
touched
really yeah they had a salad i didn't even notice it was a great restaurant i prefer
a mcdonald's playpen or an applebee's okay i remember when i was like five years old i would
rip it up in the playpen the playpen they had the ball pit and then they they got rid of the
ball pit because somebody got pink eye well they also put exercise balls in there on a trampoline
so you used to run around and just just fly that was sick oh we had such a good mcdonald's
look at it now it sucks everything's square and gray
god
the world sucks now you probably remember actually going to the mall for back to school shopping
i do it's now all the kids they just order online or they send their parents i prefer going shopping
in real life for anything that i need i agree especially clothes i feel like you have to try
them on like i hate packaging stuff up and sending it back i agree i also like seeing stuff in person
like i like i like browsing when i'd never go shopping period but if i do i go to the outlets
or i go to the mall were we living in the good old days and didn't even know it i personally i
think so like you never realize when you're actually in that moment that like oh one day
i'm going to look back at this yeah we're going to look back on this and look at the like the good
old days oh stop oh that just gave me like chills from now we're gonna be like remember when we'd
had this in the basement oh we're gonna be in a big luxury studio kidding i love our producer on
our project that we can't okay shout out ian and andrew that's all i got that's it no no that for
that topic i have more topics no i have that's all you got no i have more that's all you got i'll
never end oh also shout out rams hill for having us this is my new hat that's where you shot your
80 that's where i shot my 80 i think the hat did it for you i think it did too i did change my hat
for the round i wore this i wore this hat yes you did my average score wearing this hat is an 80 you
also took out that hat and go you like this hat i go i love it you go what color is it i didn't know
what color well if it was purple i wasn't gonna get it yeah completely agree i didn't know if it
was purple or blue that's like a royal blue yeah i like it and i like how it's black so i can wear
it with a black shirt yeah as i'm doing as you're doing now you want to see what shorts i'm wearing
no i don't they don't match okay oh i see them these are seven people who changed the course
of history okay you hit me with it totally off topic i'm hungry i'm gonna first one jesus of
nazareth what is funny about the topic just came out of nowhere so i'm just really thrown off by
whatever you're saying jesus of nazareth yeah he completely of course he did he founded christianity
and today 2.4
b
billion people follow him that's nearly a third of everyone alive what do you mean follow like
follow christianity okay oh oh like his name what his name christ christian yeah that's why it's
called i didn't know that christopher columbus also changed history his 1942 voyage opened the
americas to europe within a century 56 native america 56 million native americas were dead
from disease war and slavery i mean it's kind of sad
muhammad changed the course of history he founded the religion he founded islam in 610 a.d which
stands for after death it doesn't stand for that within a century of his death his followers ruled
from spain all the way to india i know he's a big deal he's a huge no no no he definitely changed
the outlook on things albert einstein changed what else am i supposed to say change the course
of history yeah that's what the topic is albert einstein changed the course of history in 1929
his letter to roosevelt triggered the manhattan project that's a bomb that was built because of
it and it killed 200 000 people in two cities and ended world war ii is that an atomic bomb
i think is that oppenheimer i don't know yeah didn't watch the movie they uh they tested the
atomic bomb in new mexico that's a fun fact good fun fact johannes gutenberg changed the course of
history his 1440 printing press broke the church's monopoly on knowledge
igniting the reformation scientific revolution and the modern world the printing press is one of
my favorite inventions is it it's very cool some places don't use it anymore no but some places
still do it it's all online now no but you've seen some places do it they create like posters
the last one is karl marx doesn't care he just doesn't care his writings created communism his
ideas built the soviet union communist china and the cold war and defined the lives of a billion
people for a century so there's an allegory what that involves karl marx what is it now we read it
in high school can you tell me the name of the book what does an allegory mean allegory is a
representation of a moment or something in history sending the messaging but putting it in a different
world or perspective what's it about karl marx i think it was communism no and you're asking me
what book it was called it wasn't common what was the title of it dictatorship you're asking me the
title of it yes it's like people at the top are more powerful people down low they all share was
it hatchet no it involves flat stand a farm one flew over the cuckoos next animal farm i don't
know what that is oh brian i only know farmville i forget what it represented great face allegory
great word that's not a good word yes it is no that's like i i'm pretentious allegory for what
it's not pretentious at all it's a bit pretentious it's an allegory for the russian revolution of
1917 and a subsequent rise of oh
stalinism in the soviet union george orwell what's stalinism stop uh totalitarian oppression
wait no look at your computer look up what is stalinism from joseph stalin nice yeah stupid
what am i stupid am i dumb stop i didn't say a word yeah but you gave me that look you're i think
you're self-diagnosed as kind of dumb sometimes in certain categories i just think when i act too
quickly i don't think about it i just get really stupid because i like to just react i i think i
respect that kind of what the podcast is uh okay so do you want to play the rap game again at the
end of this podcast or no we'll do it next time next time maybe the people if the people ask for
it if the people ask okay if you made it this far and you want it next week comment i love the rap
game i thought it was fun i know you do okay um do you want to hear about the different seasons
of the year or do you want to hear about the different types of streets neither neither
i'm kidding i want to hear about the seasons whatever you think the seasons okay let's go
see whatever you think whatever you think the people would enjoy more i'm gonna tell you about
the street this last topic alert no okay i think we got like three more left sorry okay it's okay
i'm sorry i shouldn't have said that did you know the difference between the different types of
streets i thought we were doing seasons i wanted to do the street hell you can go i'll go seasons
that's fine no let's do the streets here's what you do the streets you wanted to do it did you
know the difference between the different types of streets like avenue drive streets boulevard
lane i don't i don't okay i'm gonna educate you let me hear it a road what do you think a road is
i think it's just like a road i don't know how how else to define it it's a thoroughfare used
to connect two locations okay so it's a road it's a road yes that one's self-explanatory okay just
making sure everyone knows what a road is what's a street do you know what a street is god i i i
figured it's just a smaller road so it has to do with what's surrounding the street that's my hint
it is surrounded by grass no
kind of houses houses or buildings so it's a thoroughfare in a town or city typically lined
with buildings or houses on one or both sides can i ask you a question what's thoroughfare i have no
idea i have no idea it was just what was written down let's just call it a road then okay no but
the road is a thoroughfare used to connect two locations okay what's an avenue just houses on
the street it's a wide street or road often lined with trees buildings or large shrubs designed to
emphasize the arrival at an important destination park avenue park avenue that could work in the
i think those avenues avenue i think those avenues in the city avenue lead to the river
sixth that's the destination sixth or seventh avenue is there a yes there is what what about
boulevard uh kind of similar to an avenue where there's broken dreams it's wider than an avenue
and almost always has a median in the middle multiple lanes of traffic landscaping around it
for some reason i don't believe that i think it is there's a there's a thing in the middle there's
yeah median usually a little bit bigger than the avenues
i don't buy that you're not buying it why not i don't buy it i feel like a boulevard is like
in a development whoa okay almost fell what's a drive it's where you drive it's a street that
is meandering and usually follows the natural landscape are you trying to bore the audience
to sleep no i know you're trying to say a lullaby to that you didn't like it i knew it i knew you
like it i love this i'm fascinated by this but we don't have to talk about it a lane is a roadway
for a single line of vehicles or a
narrow quiet road found in the countryside of small towns do you want to know what a way is
of course a cul-de-sac a place is a dead end but it's straighter than a cul-de-sac
let's move on no one cares you know what someone else explained that and it had great engagement
engagement and I was like, I'm going to pass forward the message, but apparently you don't
want to hear it. So that's fine. It's okay. Everything's okay. Some topics don't hit and
that's why we do it. It's your topic now. But when I stay silent, you get very uncomfortable.
I don't know what to say. Talk. Guess what the difference in lifestyle from 1970 to 2026 looks
like. What am I guessing? What percent of men were married by 30 in 1970? I feel like people
in 1970 were going to marry to like 20 years old. Okay. So what percent of people before 30?
I'm going to say like 85%. Oh my God. That's a fantastic guess. Thank you, Brian. Take five away.
80. 80% of men were married by the age of 30. Insane stat. What about in 2026? 2026. How many
people? Come on. Think about your friends. What percent of your friends are married? I want to
say like 30%. Okay. Good guess again. Minus seven. 23%. 23% of men are married under the age of 30.
Yeah. I think that's a crazy difference. I don't know.
I don't know why it's happening. Also, is the lifespan longer too now? That's what I was also
thinking. Are people doing it because they're living longer, they're waiting longer, or maybe
they're afraid of commitment? What is the total amount of student debt on average in 1970? I'm
going to say 1970, $1,000. Okay. It's a little bit more than that. College was quite expensive.
It was $12,000 on average. Okay. What about in 2026? $88,000. Okay. It's a lot less than that,
but it gives a general area. It's over $37,000. It could range up to like,
$500,000. Yeah. If you're going to school, if you're going to school for a specialty, forget it.
It's pointless to go to expensive colleges if you're not in a specific field. I feel like
people jump fields all the time. Like if you go to Miami just to go to party, you're paying 60
grand a year for nothing. Yeah. What percent of people know their neighbors in 1970? I feel like
it's got to be 95, 98%. Thou shall not covet thy neighbor's wife. That's one of the 10 commandments.
You got to laugh over there in the background. What percent did you guess?
98. It's 60% of people. What about in 2026? I'm not buying that, by the way. I think it's more.
You think it's more? You think it's pumped up? Absolutely. Pump up those numbers.
Now it's got to be like 25%. So it doesn't give an exact number. It just says most people cannot
name their neighbors. I don't know who lives next to me in my building. I know the guy upstairs,
but I don't know him really. Yeah. And you share a building. And in 1970, how many incomes could
afford a house? So how many people? How many singular person incomes? I'm going to say,
don't overthink. I have to sneeze. Don't overthink. I'm trying not to sneeze.
I'm going to say two people. No, one income. So one income could support buying a house and one
income could support the family. What about in 2026? I'm getting like chills over here. I have
to sneeze. It's not coming out. 2026, I'm going to say three people. No. Two and a half. Two.
Well, no. Yeah. I mean, you're right. Two incomes still is not enough on average to buy a new house.
Yeah. So it is. That's sad. That's horrifying. We're living in the dark ages now.
2016 being the best year of our lives. And we're just going all downhill from here.
I know. It just gets worse and worse. And there's no more hair growth after this.
Some people have a decision to make. Are you going to get a hair transplant? I don't know.
I have no idea. I think you should. It would do a lot for views. Final topic alert. I don't even
know if I want to share it. You're going to be like, oh, what are you trying to do? What do you
hate the people? Here's what your favorite season says about you. Talk to me. We all have a favorite
season, Brian. Mine's summer. Mine is also summer. I feel like if it's winter, you're just,
not right. Well, there's scientific reasons and information to prove what month or what season
works best for you. Okay. Let's talk about it. If summer is your favorite season like us,
it's because sunlight triggers serotonin production in the brain. Makes sense. People
who love the summer have a lower baseline of serotonin, meaning summer light fixes the
chemical imbalance in your brain. So we're depressed. No, I don't think we're depressed.
What? I don't know what serotonin really is. I think it's like happiness, right? It kind of
like boosts your mood. Yeah, I think so. Yeah. So the summer literally isn't,
it's about the serotonin balance in your brain. Well, yeah, the sun is good for you. Being outdoors
is good for you. I know people go on like daily walks when it's sunny out just to get the vitamin
D, right? If I ever have time, I usually go on a run now. If winter is your favorite season,
you have a high nervous system. You're a psycho. Well, kind of. Kind of. That's what I would say.
You have a high nervous system that finds heat stimulation overwhelming. Oh, interesting. So
you're actually more comfortable in the cold. Noise, social demands, and heat intensity are
all things that trigger the nervous system in warmer seasons.
I enjoy the winter in November and December, but January, February, sign me out. When you can't go
outside like comfortably, I don't even mind it snowing. Like it could snow and it'd be like 35
degrees. I know you don't like it. No, this past winter, I love snow, but this past winter was just
too much. No, it's when it sticks around, but if it snows like occasionally, it snows like an inch
or two. I'm good with that. I'm totally fine with that. Not 15 inches. Winter doesn't drain these
people. It gives them relief. They're able to kind of escape from the social anxiety events, parties,
and inside. Yeah. If autumn or fall. Nice. Thank you. If autumn or fall is your favorite season.
Sweatshirt season. You are wired to find comfort in familiar sensory patterns.
Makes sense. Okay. I don't know what this is. I think it's your eyeballs.
The olfactory system connects directly to the brain's memory and emotion centers. I guess.
Olfactory has to mean eyes, right? I guess. It triggers involuntary positive memories,
causing people to like the season and feel more comfortable.
That makes sense. You like a nice, warm, cozy fire, some brown leaves.
Maybe it's the different colors. Like you look at it, it's just like aesthetically pleasing.
I can't see any of them. No, you can't. So during the fall,
do all the colors just blend? It's just a little bit brighter.
Brighter? Like it's more vibrant. So it's better for you. Oh, you're saying compared to the summer.
Yeah. It's a little bit more vibrant than the summer. I just, I can't tell what colors they
are, but I can see that they're more vibrant. Okay. I wish I could see that.
Well, you can't. If spring is your favorite season, which I appreciate spring.
I like spring, fall. I like all of them for different reasons.
You are highly sensitive to light and biological reset, similar to summer. As it gets warmer,
serotonin levels rise. It's basically a mental switch after months of reduced function.
