2026 New Orleans Saints Preview: Roster, Odds & Win Total

Welcome to The Deep Died and do NFC South matriculates down to the big easy where we are going to cover the Saints today. Four flawed teams in the NFC South. I don't think anyone's surprised to hear that. The team with the reason to bet on their upside in the offseason was the Saints in my opinion. And it was entirely fueled by the idea that as an organization, they evaluated what happened in the back half of last season. And they pushed their chips into the table with their with their offseason free agency moves and draft decision making to suggest we're going to bet on we can get a top 10 offense out of this Tyler Schuck guy while he's a rookie. And if that comes to fruition, we're going to win our damn division. And who the hell knows what happens after that. It was very pretty clear telegraphing by the New Orleans front office. And I found that bold and exciting. Of cool. As an idea. And there's two reasons. The first is they went all in on a draft choice who is potentially going to have a red shirt ear in Jordan tights. And they're wide receiver. Depth chart now relies on Chris Olave not getting concussed. I think the fragility is very present when you look at the existing state of things. And now I kind of look at their moves in the offseason and wonder if this was a little bit of fooling themselves because they tried down the home stretch against teams that were trying to lose and maybe got a little false signal about how good Mr. Schuck can be. This is in the face of reports that he's looked great in preseason. What do you think? No, it was it was bumpy. Like even in the winds, it's like because I watched a lot of that. We took some shock at like what 250 or some scene. I think at 225 to one to win rookie year. I had some dark. And then eventually I had to just buy all the Macmillan once it got cheap to buy my way out of that mass because it was like the dark number was good. The Schuck number was amazing. And so I did grass. I was watching a lot of saints at the time because it was fun. But he would make some clear bone headed rookie mistakes where it's like, hey, buddy. No, we're not there yet. Yeah, it was a lot of dumb and dumber where it's like totally redeemed himself. In the next drive, you'd make a great play. I like the brain trust there a little as far as more and what they've put together with a very flawed roster, especially last year and some of the injuries and somebody's ankle being dust and the running back room being a little elder and him having to take over a franchise that was in a weird spot cap wise for like 10 years after the hate of things as they tried to work out rebuilds without actually rebuilding. It was a goofy spot. Even that time where they bounced back a little, they're just like, oh, you just locked out on the best draft class anyone's ever had. It's kind of like when the Eagles did it a couple years back, which hey, sometimes, sometimes you roll 10-11s in a row and everybody at the table wins. Yo, Levin, let's go. But you know, the Saints were always weird for me to kind of square as far as what the what the goal was in a shitty division because I think that's a tough part about it was, hey, we should maybe tank, but because we're a team that maybe should tank, but we're also within spending distance winning this division because it's the south and go look at what everyone else has right now, especially pre maybe even pre-baker even during some of the Baker seasons where you know, Tampa was good but not unbeatable and they had a lot of injuries and a fight through as well. So it's been weird for me and you know, I like Shuck. I like what he's done, but as I mentioned, we have such a small sample on the guy and we saw plenty of bad with the good and when he was beating teams for the most part, it wasn't very good teams or teams that were you know, kind of a different spot that that part of the season where they weren't trying to win games. No, I agree with that. 373 drop-axe from Mr. Shuck last year, so it's not that small of synthesis. He took over in week 9, they threw him for the wolves against the LA Rams on the road to make his first start because we had just seen flat out enough from Spencer Eller at that point, I suppose. He actually came in and did a healthy amount of relief and I lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Leakeat, but I'm going to start the clock on him in the offense in week 9. And what I see as I kind of look through the numbers is a player that he outperformed Sam Donald who of course went on to win the Super Bowl, he outperformed J. He outperformed Hertz who won last year's Super Bowl. He outperformed Bonix, Walmart Jackson, Baker Mayfield, Aaron Rodgers, yeah, he's Pat Moms, a better EPA per play in this sample. So it's a funny like in totality, he looked like he can be an NFL quarterback, like he looked like he should get the opportunity to have a full season with Kellan Moore and some more weapons and a little better protection just to see if he could take another step forward. And actually even more detailed than that, like he did get better, it felt like every week, like it did feel like the more reps he got, the game was slowing down. And as you noted, he was very close to stealing a playoff spot last year, which would have been wild. And yeah, it ultimately proved to be enough positive signal that the people in the building felt like this is assigned to bet on. The thing you noted about the quality of opponents was, I think it's real, but you know, is good news for the St. St. Andy? They're in the NFC South and they got an easy schedule, that's correct. That's correct. The Saints have the softest schedule of opposing past defenses in the NFL. I think actually, I take it back, it's not the, I think that the Vikings actually have the softest past defense. I'll tell you that. Did we talk about this? Anyway, Saints are down there though. They play the thirtiesiest schedule of passing defenses. They play the thirties second schedule in terms of just neutral rating for opponents. And a ton of that is fueled by the fact that no one in your division is really positive. I think in general, the Saints could still, if again, you get 17 games out of Chris Alave, they could still in this division, and we shouldn't be surprised. But the more you chew on, you know, what is here right now, the more clear and obvious the holes look. And so, I think tempered optimism is the correct spirit to evaluate these guys. Yeah, that's fair. Three and three in the division. Ricky quarterback, who had a certain nine games, they moved on from Ratler, which felt right. He had the highest yards per attempt in the NFC South. I thought if the quarterback should play he added about 200 yards rushing, another few scores on the ground. He was good. And Lave, 151 targets. He can be your volume guy. Signed his extension. He's, you know, his chemistry with Chuck was on. He was another one that was like it two yards per out on a big, a big sample of targets. You lost Mario Davis. We're getting some more of that. The defense has some question marks. Did, uh, do you have the oldest defense fan ever who's still kind of doing it? Played like half the Cameron Jordan played like 55% of the snaps. 17 games. I don't think he, I don't think he plays. Now, it's, he is, uh, he's hurt right now. He has a hamstring issue with no time table right now. So we'll see what happens. Yeah, some of your, but I'm just saying some of your positives from last year because he wasn't terrible. He had like 10 seconds. are either jets or old or God, we hope crystal love is healthy. So I do worry about the downside on this team and I don't have a lot more to say about the the officer last year. I don't really either. I thought yeah, I thought in general crystal love being healthy, being available and having as much chemistry as he had with shutdown stretch was kind of a major positive and also killing more look like maybe you hired the right guy. I mean he doesn't seem to fit the kind of God-like offensive genius mold that a lot of the other young hires like Ben Johnson who were especially excited about he's probably in the next year down. I think that's fair to qualify but he definitely understands what he wants the offense to look like and his vision seems to be succeeding in today's NFL. It's kind of funny because they were successful despite having a really, really bad rushing offense last year in terms of efficiency. So it did put a lot of pressure on the quarterback but the play concepts he was calling at his sequencing did help him and I think that's something you can't teach an offensive guy. So yeah, good signal that you're Kellan Moore higher was good. Kellan Moore brought Doug Newsmeyer and Brandon Staley with him and Brandon Staley surely punched above his weight with the defensive numbers last year. The Saints were pretty comparable in run defense to the likes of the Broncos and the Texans. Like I think only the Seahawks really stood clear above them. We'll put them in the category. I put them in the Josh McDaniel's category. This guy can't be that good. Staley's role. McDaniel's yeah, but he is a solid solid coordinator because yeah, he didn't it's the old maybe chicken salad out of chicken shit because he didn't have a ton to work with get to the level he did with this defense and then yes, Doug Newsmeyer is offensive coordinator in name. He's obviously a big part of how they put the offense together but Kellan is who play collar and he is Doug Newsmeyer's son. Okay. Fun fact. I didn't know that. It was a quarterback, remember him? I forgot about that. Okay. I do think some of the like the one caveat with the defense because we were just mentioning they did not play very many good quarterbacks last year. In fact, they didn't play any. So there's a little bit of a it's a little bit of a bias sample in terms of the particularly over the second half of the season where the defense looked really good. There was a lot of a lot of Kirk cousins and Bryce Young in there. I just think Garrett did I say he was Doug Newsmeyer's son. He is Doug Newsmeyer home. I'm looking at now. I'm looking at Garrett Newsmeyer. You I assumed you meant Doug Newsmeyer was Garrett Newsmeyer's dad, right? Yeah. I said it the wrong way. The quarterbacks. Yeah. Yeah, that's it's it's been a long week and we didn't get the Vegas yet. We are pre-recording. Tuesday Andy. Wednesday 11. We're recording this the week before because we're off next week. So apologies if anything is out of date for the same. Well, the freaking Falcons which we pre-recorded might be out of date. I know. See, Penix might actually be the starting QV week one. But we said that. We said we don't know. He might just I kind of just assumed it wasn't going to be two of but I didn't expect this going to be ready. I didn't think he'd be ready week one. I still don't know that he will be. I obviously will know more about it soon. But yeah, the fact that there's a chance with Penix is just playing week one is obviously good. It's two as bad. He's the penix is the favorite like 56% on Calgary. It's like a very low illiquid market. I don't know if I'd be betting that. You want some no? You can get it. I don't want to either side. All right, off-season. You mentioned it. They bet on their offense. Travis, ETN, Jr. signed to be your A1 from day one in the backfield because Camara is not the Camara of old and the MCL sprain kind of made him look a little worse. He didn't grade out all that well. You brought in also Caden Ellis out of free agency. As we get to you. He had a great year last year for the Falcons. Another reason that the Falcons defense might suck to Super Donk you all. Yeah, and this was we'll mention it. I'll mention it now. You lost, you know, you lost tomorrow Davis to the Jets. So this is kind of an answer to your weekside linebacker there. Yeah, great run defense mark. He also played for the Saints prior to that, I think. What was I looking at here? David Edwards guard, free agent guard. Big splash. Big splash. This is a nice one. You got him. He was a buffalo bill. He's your starting. He holds the distinction. Andy has being the best biggest free agent signing with the most generic name. Okay, David. He's the most generic playing the most generic position. But yeah, signed him for four years out of free agency. And you know, Chuck was sacked 31 times in his 11 starts. Need some help up there. That'll help. No offense out of free agency. Tight end. He's added to the room with John Johnson. He, uh, nice TN two. You just told me to sort of puncher Ryan Wright, um, which helps because you needed that. I think you had a couple of young guys or something that was it like Kai Kroger was traded. Um, you needed a puncher. Ty Chandler, another one from Minnesota. Jesus, the pipelines are up there. Backup running back. Zach Wilson's on this. He is probably better than Ratler. We'll see where they list him. Uh, not based on the last preseason performance. Both of these guys can go ahead and pack their bags. QB two. It's, you don't have a QB two. You have two QB three is defensive and Tyree Wilson trade from Las Vegas on, uh, on draft weekend. What do you think of that? This is going to bear. He was a really high draft pick in what? 2023 and they didn't really do anything else to address outside pass rush. You have Granderson and Chase Young and Chase Young can still flash. I don't know. Like we'll see. I think it's more of a, hey, it was, it was kind of a cheap, cheap pickup and he was drafted really highly and we'll see. And, you know, they, they declined to the 50 or options. So this is just a one year trial type thing. It's crazy that trade for a guy and then decline his option because he can. This is such a cheap pickup. So be interesting between him and I guess they didn't say and for any Jennings. Another, but that's, you know, more of a depth piece at edge there and he is again more of a run-stopping edge piece. So we'll see if he has to play because of, as I mentioned, Kim Jordan, his hamstring is old as shit. They brought in Martin Emerson, Cornerback Depth. They brought in a couple more linebackers Jackson Sermon and D.M. Jones out of free agency. He was a buck and he was already gone. He was traded in San Francisco about two days ago. Well, five days ago, when he listened to this, I suppose. Cleal Saunders, another interior dude because of the, you know, the, what they need, I guess, at no stack on defensive tackle. They traded, they got some earwights in that trade for T.M. Jones. After they picked him up, another running back. They need a bunch with Kamara out for at least a month, I suppose. He just did a bunch of guys. And then they had a kicker competition that was bad and none of them were good. So they went and picked up Daniel Carlson on August 24th. He's an actual real decent kicker at times. He was not good when he was in Minnesota, but he ended up going to the Raiders and kicking pretty well. And as I mentioned, some of the losses were to Mario Davis, linebacker to the Jets. Alante Taylor, not one they backfield, really, either. He's a, your corner. He is now a Tennessee Titan. He got, yeah, pretty paid. We talked about that with Tennessee. He got paid up there, which is crazy. Quincy Riley is stepping in on outside the corner for him. They traded that puncher Houston, Kai Kroger. I guess we'll talk about him when we get to Houston. Tian Jones, I mentioned Foster Merle. They lost a Titan to Houston. That's why we added another one, a Luke Fortner interior line depth going to the Panthers. Another, it's been a lot of this inter division stuff, I'll leave. and then some other depth that was lost, Jonathan Bullard went to Dallas, defensive lineman, Jonah Williams, Stair, so in a different Jonah Williams defensive lineman, land in young, swing tackle depth to the Jets, and Dante Pettis, not Dante Pettis. He was actually a, you know, he did a lot of the returning at times, so you need to fill in there. The most important one that I haven't got to, yes, of course, unrestricted free agent in March. He walked, said I'm not a saint anymore. The most dangerous man with the ball in his hands, tight end quarterback, wet receiver, land back, or Tyson Hill, Tyson Hill, we'll see if he ends up on a roster. Jalen Polk also, he went on the reserve. I don't hate bringing him back in. I don't hate bringing him back to New Orleans. I wouldn't do it. I don't know the, I don't know the Kellen wants the Gadgety package. It just, I don't know if that's what his offense like. So as you mentioned, Jordan Tyson was the very hydraphic. He was taking, they said, I want him starting outside. I want to lobby on one side, Tyson at the X, hamstring hurt in the joint practices, practice with Jacksonville, talking about what a two-month timeline may be longer. Candidate to probably open on IR with more of a week, six weeks, seven return looking like it. So I, that sounds optimistic to me. They said, it was, it happened on the 13th and they said two months. So that's week six. We'll call it week six to eight somewhere in there. And his durability was a knock pre-draft. Yeah, this is a recurrence. Yeah, it was, it was something they were worried about coming into the draft when people did their mock. If he contributes this year, it's a gift. Hopefully he can step in. Defense of tackle from Georgia in the second round. Christian Miller crafted for interior rotation. Did we mention Brian Bracy? Yet? No. He plues ACL. Yeah. And he plays in the interior defensive line. So all of those people I mentioned are now more important. He is your second listed nose tackle. And he didn't look bad. Some people had some nice things to say about him in the preseason game where they played what the Rams. Titan Oscar dealt from Georgia. He's your third Titan in the third round. Share my right guard from Auburn in the fourth round interior lined up. Bryce Lane. A wide receiver from North to go to state. North to go to state. Excuse me. Excuse me. Bryce Lance Lance. Lance. Sorry, I said Lane. I'm sorry. Lance Lance. Lance from North to go to state. He's a son of brother. No, he's the son of former professional defensive back Carlton Lance. Who is also Tray Lance. Yes. He was fast as shit at the combine. He was like a 435 guy. He had 50 catches for a thousand yards, 20 yards per catch man. Like he's a fun deep threat. He's listed second behind a lava but with Tyson banged up. You could see the field might be thrust into more of a starting role. A few more picks. They took defensive back Lorenzo styles from Ohio State. He's a backup nickel right now. They took Baryon Brown, LSU wide receiver. Probably somebody who's going to mix into the return game currently listed as your content trick return. Yeah. Over taking over for the Dante Pettis role and yet six return touchdowns in 65 kick returns and SSC an SEC record. So he sees something to watch for on the end of the return game and then eventually they did take TJ Hall another corner back from Iowa. Iowa corner. That's Rick Dodd before. Corner depth. He's listed third on the depth chart because he is a seventh rounder. It's about to lie out. Okay. That's the, it was a good op season. The big splashes were obviously Etienne and Edwards and you never gonna find true game changers in the free agency pool because they're there for a reason. They're there for a reason, right? But yeah, I mean David Edwards was the top. He was a top 10 contract overall value among the free agent signings and he was the number two offensive lineman after Tyler Linda bomb, Linda bomb. So he was a press. Yeah. I mean, I don't know. Kind of would have, I would have liked to have seen them more active in the wide receiver trade market with like the Patriots after the after the ice injury. Booty was cheap. I know they, Patriots frigging, finally, finally gave them up. There's like five teams that should have jumped on that and maybe, we should have given the Patriots the third next year's third for him. I think they would have taken it over Jalen Reed who I have no idea is going to make an impact on the field this year. So I wish they had tried wide receiver depth address it multiple ways instead of just drafting three guys. But we'll see. All right, man. Ready to go to circa? I am. We've already been. I didn't want to go too dark with it. I was going to say dead, but like that's more fun because there are people. I'm guessing I'm sure that the no picks. I guess once once in a while, it's probably somebody you it's no more, you know, they shuffled off this mortal coil. And that's just life because older people play this contest and younger people die too. But we won't get that dark. We're assumed that some people were arrested. And then I think they're picks in. So thank you to them. And let's get into our Power ratings. I have the QB OC number This was really hard for Shuck guy, I'm a nice fire guy, and you know what? A lot of this is Kalinmore. I was impressed with what he did I was impressed with this the decision-making saying hey, honestly, I was just impressed with this. I'm pulling the plug On on this this rattler. I'm moving. We're gonna try another thing The skill position group was not helping him out. They still had a Pretty nice results for a first year guy. Okay, I'm at 3.1 here as bullish as I am. I still can't realistically go with a you know, a number that is you know kind of threatening some of the good Quarterbacks who have done it over time The fact that this second year player we only have a half a season from Doesn't really doesn't really give me warm fuzzies. He's still he's still carrying the The prior that he came in with where he was drafted. So 3-1 for me. Yeah, okay skill 4-2 4-8 Some of this is a little more because the Jordan Tyson missing 2-3 months Camara to 4-2 is probably closer to correct. Yeah. What's the Camara entry a sprained MCL? He's out for a month. Sounds right. Maybe that's a good thing Nice contributory in the passing game. He he is still a decent, you know receiving back But still a larvae Devon Vélez Travis Ctn he's gonna get your first down early down work and he's fine John Johnson and Yeah, it's still below average a 4.2 for me and then O line. I Think we're close here What's your 4.7 for four five for me? This is the Like bottom half but not by much an offensive line Kelvin Banks, Jr. He graded well for me with room to grow. I like David Edwards as we mentioned Eric McCoy sees a release and Tolis say Fuwaga are all right around average but And Fuwaga is still young years from the girl How long is so to get early for a few years? Fuwaga and Banks have to kind of hit their potential this year for this to be a top 10 O line But I'll be watching There's it's possible Caesar who he is cashed a bit for me. He was the he pushed the offensive lineman over In the year he was drafted. I think there was more there was more after him possibly even but he was the one Center bridge down for that year Yeah, as we took it. Yeah, it was a pretty hefty price. So Yeah, it's below average. This is a you know 42nd percent held offense for me. Maybe 43rd. I'll pull it up Four for four really is not impressed by this offensive line. They rated them 27 Shockly in fact a lot 14th, but I put that more on shock It was more and if you watch if you dig into it a lot of it was on shock Just say I'm gonna hold on to this and make something happen Because I think they kind of gave him the green light to just do that Thorn has them about 14th. So kind of varying opinion on these things I think if you are just a hair below average, you're probably in the right right ballpark So and that we both that's where we both are my totality Or my total offensive rating is a 37.4 percentile that is 27th best in the NFL but Hey within the enough AFC with the NFC South that's not too bad. No Spit in distance What is your run step grade for this team? 5.4 I am lower Um, I'm at a 4.5 the to mario Davis. Let's talk through it here The mario Davis exiting isn't helping this brand breecies ACL makes the interior a lot thinner and then I have shepherd and godshaw is pretty damn good interior detackle for run stop Um, I have I don't know. I just have a lot of you know, you know, you know, okay guys Yeah, it's fine, but you know who actually still grades out pretty well who Kim Jordan. I know. Yeah, he's seen and he's heard like You wouldn't think somebody who's 37 years old and you know Also getting me 10 sacks this season somehow. Yeah, it's gonna be a big but he graded out well He's run and he's likely to miss week one. I haven't penciled out right now and in the front I have probably godshaw in the middle shepherd. No, I'm low. What was your number again? Uh 4.5 4.5 and I was a 5.4 so I really like tap. I really like the D-line here for run shop, I have him. I like shepherd. I like godshaw um Broughton's no no real red flags um, but uh, I Don't like Pete Werner It do like Kaden Ellis and the safeties are not contributing anything Um, so it's it's like it's good. Not great. But this is the thing is like you have to square it with the fact that they were what number three Number two in defense of you. It's allowed last year for running like how the hell Stay. No one could run on them. Really push Really built this up some island to be fair. They had Davis they had cam Jordan playing a lot of those games and Uh right now. Yeah, I'm I'm slight pluses to neutral across the front Werner is a negative Kaden Ellis is not as much of a positive to overcome that So I'm just slightly blow average because not only are they thin, but uh Uh the depth is very young so I think I'm gonna be just lower on the defense than you. I have a 5.1 for pass rush. I'm a 5.1 for pass rush And it's a lot of it is just chase young is Good at times, but it's another one where hey cam Jordan give me 10 sacks 15 tackles for losses. He was uh He was an important part of that as well Tyree Wilson is what's obviously going to move this up and down if if he is able to contribute Carl Granderson had seven sacks in 39 pressures last year. Yeah, he great. Yeah, maybe I have a little low on this Kaden Ellis is a good pass rusher too Yeah, I see what they're gonna ask him to do because of how they I though. Yeah, the real can I mean help with these safeties at times? I mean, I think they you mentioned it that Wilson is a wild card, but chase young is good He's just a good player and he found a very good home and a good system for him So I think he's going to be kind of a good anchor for a good pass rush. He knew it overall I'm yeah, I'm at average. I'll quickly move him up if Tyree contribute turf granderson looks good again Coverage for me 5.8. Uh, I would completely admit. I will completely admit my so much of my Number my you know, I I started so much of my stuff is skewed from how they performed overall last year You have to use last year. The power rating overall, you're at 44th percentile and at a 41st, that makes you a minus 1.8 and I will minus 2. Right now, the market has these saints at minus 3. So we like the saints. We're betting on this team. There's a point available relative to market and I'm intrigued at when and where we're going to fire saints bets this year. Yeah, a little lower on coaching than you and willing to come up with that. I just don't have a big sample of meaningful decision making in a lot of these games for Kellyn Moore at this point. You're favorite in two of them. Then you get the buy, you get two more games you're favorite in at home. There's a tough stretch again with Chicago Sensei Green Bay two of those being on the road. Chicago coming off their buy Green Bay having a rest advantage and also some of those being cold weather games with at Chicago in late November, it could be shitty out, maybe not at that point, but it's kind of a toss up. And then the end of the season easy issue game. You got a nice one home again, Sarah. So now you get two divisional foes to close the year. In fact, four of your last five games are against the NFC South with Carolina Tampa on the road, Atlanta on the road and Tampa at home. So you need, you need to win some road games there if you want to take this division, but it's not. Is that a schedule where you can't win double digit games if things break right? Yeah. Did you mention that the New Orleans pit game will be the first NFL game contested in France? I'd forgotten. Perry, gay, Perry, probably at the PSG set that works out because they have the floor to Lee, the floor to Lee. And we're about at the point here where we need to start eating the rich. So maybe we bring some guillotine back, get gas prices backed out under four bucks. I can't imagine what you're paying California, but I bet they do it in leaders out there because you guys are it's that it's that obscene. You're just that to European. This is the kind of schedule, they aren't taking the buy after the French game though. Yeah. This is the kind of schedule I absolutely love. It is very clear and obvious that there is a buy point after the first couple of weeks and yeah, it's only going to take seven eight wins. So giving the year division a two week head start doesn't really matter. You're still going to be competitive for the South. So I really hope we get kind of going into that Las Vegas game. We get a little bit of positive news about Jordan. Tyson's recovery and that he's on the mend. He's ramping up if he's not done. You know, it would be a fun exercise. I'm going to do this, you know, I'm a little tight on time today. Okay. Just looking at this, it makes me wonder about the first two to three games for the other teams in the division. And it makes me want to do a little evaluation of the first two, three, four, you know, do a bunch of different simulations on teams and how tough their schedules are because I think there are spots to do this in how the prediction markets are so prevalent. If you wanted to, hey, I like the Saints. We're above the market in here. You know what I might start the season with? Saints to not win the South. And you know, you're not going to get rich on some of these. And we talk about this so much with futures. I hate betting a future that's minus 110 and I'm going to sit on for eight months. I don't think it's a great use of money, but I don't mind betting a future that maybe I only make 20% on 10% on, but I feel really good about the chances of me making that 10 to 15% return in two weeks. You know, it's something like that. If there are some spots, it doesn't have to be in the South. If there are some teams that we, hey, they're going to get the shit kicked out of them for two weeks. And at least one of these other teams is probably going to be two and oh, we take it, we bet it, we cash it out in two weeks and then flip it onto the other side, maybe the sweet spot for that type of play is week 14, December 13. You want to come off of that Chicago Cincinnati Green Bay, where presumably they have been, well, I'm playing a little bit around trips on this team. Right. Like you want to come off at that stretch where they've gotten beat up by the good teams a little bit. And then they're going into two high leverage games against Carolina at Carolina at Tampa and their small dogs on the road in those games. Like they can win those games. Then they get Arizona, Atlanta, which should be win-win. I don't know. I feel like that's the swing trade spots. And in general, I'm still not entirely quit on the idea that these guys are actually much better than the market things, and that we're going to laugh at see who can believe we have these guys in minus two. Like Tyler Schuck and Kelly Moore clearly have chemistry. I mean, honestly, just reading and hearing about from Saints Beat guys on how good Schuck has looked and camp has me kind of wanting to drink some of the Marty Gragius. Yeah. Pour some hurricanes. Have a grenade. You've been to, you've been to, uh, never, never, uh, French quarter. No, okay. I don't like the French. I would never go to Montreal either. I'm kidding. I've been to France. Never been to New Orleans. Probably going, I have been looking at train schedules. I'm planning European vacation ahead of time. It's crazy how fast you can get places over there. Well, considering how F to their, says, F to the secondary for the Detroit lines is it's a damn shame that the Saints don't have a completely viable set of passing weapons in a game to make this fun threat. I would really love some early season chaos with some of the big dogs losing week one for survivor purposes and they just don't know if we're going to get it. Um, you can have the balls to pull the sugar on Saints after Christmas against the Arizona Cardinals for survivor. No, I'm probably on the some Devon Valey overs against Detroit. Okay. Just give me, give me slots. I got to look at what Shucks splits were for where he was throwing it on the field, but I think we could get a bunch of Devon Valey week one against the secondary that's probably can have their hands full despite having like you said, not a great wide receiver room. It's just to beat up defensive backfield right now. Yeah, I'm looking at it like we said. I'm looking at some entry point here. I like what you said, getting in that late in the season, especially if they're trailing by a game or two, because I think that's something the market doesn't price in as well as it could. It's just the absolute leverage of winning those games against your division foes, the two the two game swings that you can start to throw if you get hot at the end of the season compared to, you know, a spot where, hey, this team won five games. Yeah, but the team that was two games ahead of them went four and one. Yeah, right. And they didn't play each other and, you know, we really didn't make up much ground here. So that's fun. But also at the same time, I still kind of do want to bet against them to start the year. I do got to look at the schedules for Tampa and Carolina and see if that drives a little theory. For the last five games for the Saints are in this dog shit division and the fifth is Arizona. Tour Tampa, though, Tampa's favorite Tampa is the best quarterback in the division. Tampa has a lot of question marks. So what kind of level of confidence you're going to say that in December that Tampa is the best quarterback in the division? I probably still will say that he's pretty good. Well, what level what's your what's your confidence interval? 90% confidence interval that you'll still see Baker Mayfield is the best quarterback in this division in December. Yeah, I'm going to I'm probably not going to say about a falcon's quarterback. Bryce as a small chance. It feels like I mean, Shuck is most likely to take over that. Actually, the most likely way to take over that is Baker gets hurt. Second most likely is Shuck third most likely is Bryce. Okay. Bryce is a better quarterback than Shuck right now. But I think his upside is capped a little more where Shuck has, hey, we don't know, he could be a lot better than this. Absolutely. Which is fun. So any preseason bets, I think Kellin Morris pretty high up on the list for if you want to bet on a coach in the year, just because they had six wins and you know, they have a good shot to what if they win 11? That's a five game improvement. They win the division. Shuck looks good. I think Kellin Moore definitely we talked about in that despite not really having a shot at getting a one or two seed, about two 75 to win the NFC South. Win total sitting 7.5 juiced to the over at about minus 120. They could win 11. That's not crazy. Yeah, but that's just not getting you a one or two seed. You you the case for Kellin Moore is like he's getting the credit for Shuck took this big step forward and win their division. They look good. He is getting the it has to be driven in the media too. We're like Kellin Morris. The reason this team has turned around. This was a six win fourth place team last year and really it's like hey, but they also have like 11 very winable games on the schedule and a couple more coin flips. So huh. Yeah, I don't hate it. I know that's he's short for a reason in that market. I don't think it's something I'm playing preseason. No, I don't either. We agree. Especially because they're probably going to lose to this right in Baltimore week one and week two. Yeah, if you want if you want coach of the year, you bet that as well. Take him to 18 to one after he's gotten his shit kicked out of my couple times. Kim Jordan, I think he said this will be his last season, 16th season. So I'll be excited to watch him a little more once he's healthy. I love him. Yeah. I'm looking at beyond his terms. We'll see. Hopefully he can come back for the second half of the season and maybe they're in a spot where they found a rotation and they can use him a little more sparingly and we get him all the way through the year.
