I'm not just a radio guy, I'm also a realtor. I talk to homeowners all the time. And what's the one thing many homeowners have, but rarely think about? It's equity. It's something that can quietly grow over time while you're busy living your life. And for many homeowners, it can be an opportunity they haven't explored. Whether you're planning home improvements or preparing for whatever comes next, your home's equity may be able to help you. It's important to understand what's available and to find out the right option that fits your goals. For me, I wanted to put a pool in my backyard and finish my basement. I didn't have the money available, so I went to Stockton Mortgage. They found the equity that already built up and my house was able to use to install my pool and finish the basement. I would have been able to do it without 'em. At Stockton Mortgage, they'll walk you through the possibilities. Answer your questions and help you understand your next step. If it's been a while since you've looked into your home's value, now might be a great time to start the conversation. Visit Stockton.com to learn more. Stockton Mortgage. NMLS-8259, NMLS-consumeraccess.org, equal housing lender. Stockton Mortgage and Ryan Lemon are not affiliated entities. Barrowers are free to choose their own service provider. This is Kentucky Sports Radio, presented by Stockton Mortgage and the Kentucky Office of Highway Safety Safe Summer Driving Tour. Now, here's Matt Jones. - Welcome back. I remember two Kentucky Sports Radio 8559282-287. Ask anything Wednesday. Text machine is 772-7745254. Let's go over a couple of things before we go back to the phones. What do you think about the arch meaning? - Come in. Not, guy probably needs a little media training. - His uncle's wouldn't have done that. - Dumb college kid move. It's almost a worse look of the room laughing with him of the adults than the Dumb college kid. - I think the Dumb college voters look much worse in that than even for him. So people who don't know, somebody asked me if he had seen any of the online discourse about his coach, Steve Sarkeyian kind of blowing off. Holly Rowan, he said, "Yeah, I did see an AI video when everybody starts laughing." He was like, "Yeah, I think he's encouraged by the laughter." He's like, "Yeah, I was an AI video of him smacking Holly Rowan." And then I went and watched the video and. - It's pretty aggressive. - It's pretty aggressive, AI video. - I think Sarkeyian says like, "That was awesome." Something like that. - Yeah, he said it was awesome. I mean, look, it's not the end of the world. I don't think you should go crazy about the kid. But like, it's not funny to laugh as a man smacking a woman. Can't do it. Yeah, it's just not. And that room full of reporters laugh. Even the guy that tweeted it was like gold. Like they gotta be, "You gotta be better than that." I'm all for like, people get into our two sensitive and they're joking, but it's, you don't, I know AI's not real, but at the same time like, there's nothing funny about that. - Don't watch that video and tell me that that's funny. - It's not. - And since he's the one that brought it, I could have not mentioned it. I'm sure it's not the end of the world, but I bet Uncle Payton or someone like that. - He looked at the SID and you can see that the SID's giving him a look like, 'cause then he turns back around and the smile goes off. - His expression changes quickly. - But it's also embarrassing for that room full of reporters to be laughing about it. 'Cause there's probably some female reporters in that room. I thought some, you know? - Yeah. I mean, and Holly Row, you can argue whether or not she should have rolled her eyes. There's probably some backstory with all of that. But people online, like people are like, I can like, it's her fault. You know, he blew her off. You can say that's good. You can say it's not, but like, it's not her fault. - No, and at the end of the day, I mean, should he've done the interview, yes. But as he runs off, okay, she missed an interview. He should have done it wrong on his part. The world will keep turning. We're all gonna be okay. Holly's gonna be okay. - But Arch has got to be smarter than that. - Arch has to know better on the cameras. - Like Payton and Eli would not have done that. - Well, I bet Uncle Payton gave him a call having been on the podium a thousand times. Like, hey, remember, you know, we're mayonnaise. - And we just bragged on Arch yesterday about how he handled his post game interview. - Yeah. - We're mayonnaise. - And he went a little too far into the laughing at it that just made it. - Well, just don't bring it up. - You don't have to bring up the video of a guy smackin' a woman. - I'm just, like, just let that one go. - That's how he's probably over there, like, trying to get his attention. - Stop, stop, stop. - Yeah. So I thought that was not his finest out. - No, it's not. - Um, Mitch McConnell's back. - He's back. - He's alive. So glad I, I'm glad he's alive. It's embarrassing. It's embarrassing. Let me roll him out there. They don't let the reporters take video. I don't know if people realize that part of that. - No. - They came and he came out to the press thing, but they told everyone no video only pictures. And they let the reporters ask him questions and apparently he spoke, but they wouldn't let there be video. - Shannon, come on now. Well, we have proof of life. - We do have proof of life, but isn't that shameful that they won't let them take video? That means we don't want anybody to see what he sounds like. - Yeah. Well, I mean, I heard the audio, but I didn't see the video. There is audio out there if I'm speaking. - Oh, there is audio. - There is, yeah, I heard it this morning. - What does he sound like? Does he sound normal? - He sounds pretty normal. - Yeah. - Okay. - Which makes me wonder why they don't want the video. I mean, if he sounds fine, what are you trying to hide? - So it was his voice? - It was, yeah. - Okay, I didn't hear that. - Yeah, yeah, it's out there. - I just saw the clip of him smiling, staring forward. - But why do these, like, same thing with, I'm, same thing with Joe Bot. Like, why do these people feel like they have to, like, someone else can do it. - These people are running our country. - Like, someone else can do it. It doesn't have to be you. You know what I mean? Somebody else can do it. You're not the only person that can be a senator. - Right? - Yeah. - Too prideful to step down. - You know what he's done after this year, right? - But, what? - It is. - Three more months. - Why not just be done now? - There's still business to be done now, right? - He's still got things to do apparently. He's got a vote. - What does he have to do? - Vote, he was there the vote yesterday, right? - Well, get somebody else to vote. - But he's the senator. - Why are you taking up for this, Shannon? - I didn't see it. - You are always Mr. Old folks should not be doing this. - You, you think, you're Mr. Term Limit. Like, what are you doing? - I'm not really taking up for him, but you said, what is he doing? He's voting. I mean, that's what he was literally there to do. - All right, Shannon. - I'm not saying I agree with what he stands for necessarily. - No, no, no, I'm not saying that either. It's not about what he stands for. - But I mean, the question is just, should you have someone in that condition in office? I don't know, it's tough, probably not. But I mean, what are you gonna do? Just impeach him? 'Cause he's in a wheelchair? - No, I mean, he should be fit to make our best decisions. - He should resign and then they should have replaced him. - Right? - Can they just kick him out though if he doesn't want to? - Well, I mean, there's a process, but that's, they're not gonna do that. - Yeah, yeah. - He's back. - Back again. - Shady's back. - Tell a love for a little friend. - A little friend. - Look who's back. - 'Cause he's been back, that would be a funny video if someone did that video with Mr. McConnell. (laughing) - I mean, in some ways, I feel bad. Like, he should get to spend his last years not having people have this conversation about him. See, that's, I know we don't see the same side politically with him, but it's sad. To me, I see them and I see those pictures and it makes me sad. - Well, that's gonna be how everyone remembers it. - Yeah. - You know, but all of these people, they stay too long. I mean, there was that woman from California that, uh, Dianne Feinstein, who by the end, apparently like didn't recognize her staff, but was still in office, making decisions and voting. - Yeah, well, someone was making decisions. - That's not how it should be. - No, these people aren't going to work at like their local mom and shop business. These people are running the country. - They're not working at Dunkin' Donuts. - It's like this is an important thing. - In some way, our livelihood is in their hands in some ways, and what there are decisions that are gonna be made in the next two to five, maybe in the next few months about AI that'll probably decide the future of humanity. And you wonder how many of these people even know what is happening. - Like Mitch McConnell actually understands. - I don't understand AI. - You're telling me he does? Come on, he's gonna vote on it. But such is life. - He waved. - He didn't waved. - He didn't waved. That was nice, I'm glad he waved. Clay, go ahead, Clay. - Hey Matt, guys, long time listener here. Enjoy the show. - Thank you. - The last three conversations that you've had on the radio this morning were about situations where there were TV cameras around. Some aren't allowed to be recording. The thing of it is, you put people around TV cameras and they do some odd things. Did any of you see the coach stands, mother and aunt present the cakes to the guys on SEC Nation on Saturday morning? - Yeah, why did Teemo just throw them at people? - Yes. And let me tell you a little bit of backstory on this. I went and bought a sissy cake and picked it up on Friday at order to an advance. The coach's mom and aunt were in there. Such a nice lady. And I told him, this cake's going to Commonwealth state and they said, "We'll be there and watch SEC Nation at 930 about 'cause we're gonna get on their present cake." - Yeah. - And then she had to look on her face after Teemo grabbed that handful of cake and then threw it on the students. The cake was hitting the kids. There was cake on the floor of the set. I mean, it was so disrespectful on Teemo's part. And maybe I'm wrong. Is that the take that you are, Matt? - I thought it was, Teemo seems like a good guy. I appreciate the call. I don't know that he meant anything. I just thought it was weird. They bring them this cake and they say, "Here, we've made this cake for you all." And he just takes a handful of it and just starts throwing it at the students. - The caller's right, her face is like, "Oh, yeah." - She was like, "I wanted you to eat this, "try this cake and brag on it." - I mean, just imagine, like, people bring us food sometimes. Like, someone will make us cookies. - Yes. - And if someone was like, "Here, I would like you "to have these cookies." And I just watered them up and threw them at Mario. It would be a little disrespectful, don't you think? - Also, Will was there to take a bite. So he then goes and takes a bite of it. After Teemo is just taking his big claw and dug it all up into pieces. So they're all eating after Teemo just destroyed it. - Yeah, I think if Teemo would eat it and said, this is good. - He's trying to be Mac. - He's like, "I gotta amp this up a little bit." - Yeah, yeah. - Yeah. - I don't know. I did think that was really strange. I didn't see it live, but I saw-- - It seemed like a character for him. - It does. It does, 'cause he seems like the nicest guy in the world. And it just seems like-- - Launching the cake. - I think he probably thought that was cute. But, you know, they're like, "Here, have a cake." - It just takes it and wads it up. (laughing) - It's having flashbacks to what Game Day was there. - Did he want the students to catch it and they're went with their mouth and eat it? - Well, they're not seals. (laughing) - And he also launched it. (laughing) - It wasn't like a here, we'd do like a tail. - I mean, there was a 96 mile an hour heater right at their faces. - JT, go ahead, JT. - Oh, I had a thing about the football games. I think that if it would've been a night game, it would've been a whole different situation. 'Cause I've been to the Georgia game, the Texas game, it was past couple of years. And they were both like insane environments, and they were able to keep it a lot closer. - Maybe, but I do think it was, while I agree with you that in general night games are louder than day games, I don't know Drew. I mean, maybe it could've gotten louder, but it was pretty damn loud. - Yeah, I don't know if you could ask for much more than what the crowd did. It's natural when you have the back breaking plays, they gave Alabama back-to-back short fills to just kind of suck the life out of the stadium, and that's what happened. The sun had been down and been nighttime. I think the same thing probably would've played out, but you couldn't ask for much more for how they showed up or in that first half. - Yeah, so I mean, I agree with you, in general night is better. I'm not sure that it would've made a big difference in this game. - The good thing about night, though, that does help to the atmosphere, is they get those lights going. There's some stuff that they just can't do in the day light that adds to the experience. - Well, I mean, I think after the South Alabama game, aren't like our next five games at night. - Did they ever do the red laser light show? - I didn't see that. - I didn't see that in show. - I tell you what I did see, Shannon, is on SEC Nation about the time we're talking about, as Will Stein walks up, someone behind him holds up a sign that says Marguerita Mario puking. - I saw that. - It ended up on SEC Nation. - That's a high quality sign, too. If we could get that from whoever that is, then maybe they're listening. - Well, no, we could, because they brought it to walk-ons. - Oh, they did. - The Mario Stolett. (laughing) - So that it would no, so that it would no longer be in public. - Come on, Mario. - Billy's got a studio. - Billy's got it, didn't he? - He's gonna try to get it. - He's gonna try to get it, but you're not gonna give it to the game. - I'm gonna get it. - I think it's at the restaurant right now. - I'm gonna get it, I'll be there later. - I'm gonna get it right now. - Well, I thought it was interesting that it ended up on. - Yeah. And even in the catwalk. - What was the sign that guy had about Kayland Abort, since something like Kayland Abort fills his flask with, was it Apple Juice or something? - Yeah, I can't remember exactly what it said. It was leaning into the flask content before the game. - Yeah. - I'll get the Mario sign if it's there. - Yeah, one person writes, Matt, what age you're all scale of optimism about the offense after the game one to 10? - Hmm, I will say seven. - I was gonna go six. I'm just like I said yesterday, I'm gonna have worried about that wide receiver room. - I think six to seven is a good call, 'cause I'm kind of, that's kind of where I am too, because I am a little worried about it, I would admit, 'cause I, I thought it just kind of fell apart in that second half. And it wasn't great in the first half, but it really kind of fell apart. - And you're one of 14 on third down, something's not right. - Yeah, let's see, what do we wanna do? Don Franklado, all over the state, if you want a vehicle. Don Franklin is the place to go. You can kick off the savings with over 6,000 new and pre-owned certified vehicles. Oh my God, Lexi, we have a new podcast. I'm Lexi, you want to? We're two bus friends, 22 years apart, but so close at heart. And I'm Lisa de Julio, the old one, which means we have wildly different references, occasionally different opinions. And at this point in my 50s, I've lived it all. - I'm not gonna get any worse than fighting. - That is wild. I learned that about you today. And I've always got something to say. - If men were just honest about this, there would be so much more peace in the world. We're gonna talk about dating, relationships, beauty, getting older, and a little wiser. We're best friends, but we don't always agree. - Because you told us how accommodating you are. - Obviously, I would do what I think I could do to fight the fight, but there's only so much fight I can fight. - Don't lie to me. - Don't lie to me. - Don't lie to me. - Lie. - Listen on the iHeartRadio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I don't really care. Self-care September is here, which means it's time to rethink what self-care actually means. Yes, self-care can be a long walk, it can be an everything shower, it can be putting your phone on, do not disturb, but sometimes it's actually about sitting with the uncomfortable stuff. And understanding your patterns, your boundaries, finally figuring out why you keep doing things that you swore you would never do again. I'm Jenna Speg, the host of the psychology of your 20s podcast, and each week, we unpack the psychology behind the experiences that shape your 20s. From relationships and friendships to money, anxiety, confidence, attachment, just becoming more comfortable with who you are. Unlike the quarter-life crisis, which is depicted as the collapse, the quarter-life reinvention is the expansion and growth of something. When we develop the ability to be happy by ourselves, nobody else can take that from you. So this self-care September, don't just take care of yourself, get to know yourself as well. Listen to the psychology of your 20s on the iHeartRadio app, Apple podcasts, wherever you get. your podcasts. I'm Lacey Mosley, author, actor, stand-up comedian, creator, and host of SCAM Goddess Podcasts. The True Crime Comedy Podcasts, all about robbery, fraud, and those who practice it. Each week I bring on incredible guests like Conan O'Brien, Iowa Deppery, Lamor and Morris, and Nicole Byer. Ooh, I scammed them. What? I could talk to you for an hour. You're a generational yapper, like me. That's why I had to make yapping a job. And the scams run the gamut. I'm talking about scams from the 1800s, all the way up to today. I also warn you and keep you safe against scammers. Call your grandparents. Tell your parents to stop clicking on links, please. And now you can catch full episodes of my show on YouTube. If there's a scam, I'm here to protect you. And I'm also here to laugh with you. So if you like fun, if you like comedy, and you like learning, and protecting yourself from criminals, start listening to Scam Goddess on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. Scam Goddess! Hi, this is Kylie Breikman, Angel Jaretana. Jeremy Colhane, Patrick McDonald. And we're the hosts of the artist on artist on artist on artist podcast. The improvised character comedy podcast where each week a new panel of artists discuss their craft. Join us for a panel of wellness influencers. What I try to do is foe journal. I don't know, I think I sort of foe journaling. Yeah, it's reading, it's called reading. So you're, so we don't like to use that word anymore. Okay, a panel of New Yorker cartoonists. Have you guys done Terry Gross's Peloton class? No! I've been dying too. I'm so sorry, I'm seeing a reading of Sudako in the Thousand Paper Cranes by Audrement Donald at the Wonderland Bookstore on 14th. That's crazy, I went to the Wonderland Bookstore yesterday, and I heard Nora Jones do a reading of Zero Doctor 30. No way! Patrick of the last bookstore, though. Kim Control is reading the guitar tabs. Oh, but yesterday. A panel of Eurovision participants. And we do a little Halloween sometimes. Does the Pope dress up? He, he winks on Halloween. It's right up next to the microphone. You can, I hear you get the elbows here. The eyelashes hate each other. As when the Pope gets up to wink on Halloween. Listen to artists on artists on artists on artists. On the I heard radio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. - Welcome back, it is Tekken Sports Radio, 859-288-02287. Text machine is 772-774-5254. I, it is the amount of people who can't hear a conversation without going, but what about? - Sorry about the Mitch McConnell conversation. I mean, but what about Joe Biden? - First of all, I mentioned him. But secondly, like the standard, I could do the exact same thing to you. I mean, you, people understandably thought that Joe Biden shouldn't run. Okay, well, what about him? I mean, we could do that forever and then you never accomplish anything. I'm just saying, like, just in general, people think that they, like they're the only ones that can do the job. If it were up to me, I would have term limits. Nobody could serve more than like two terms. - Right? Like if Andy would run for governor again next year, he'd probably win, but I don't think he should. He shouldn't be governor for life. He's a new blood in there. I mean, the last person we had who stayed in office forever was Jerry Abramsman Louisville and he's the one that did the U of L deal that is still bankrupting the city. Like you stay in office long enough, you're gonna be corrupt. - Yeah, we should also agree that people should be pretty coherent in making decisions that affect all of us. I mean, I think that should be a basic requirement. How are we doing big blue madness tickets this year? Feels like the system changes a lot. Let me get these details exactly right. These are online, right? Yes, online. - And you don't have to pay for them, but you do have to pay the ticket master fee. - Get master fee. There's usually a household limit. I wanna make sure I say the right thing. - Do we like that they do it this way? 'Cause I feel like it encourages people not to come. - I know I was just gonna sound like an old school man. I loved it when they gave him away, but Moral Coliseum and the students would go and sit in there for hours and had like the lottery. - I just feel like if you're not paying any money, Shannon, you don't have an incentive to come. 'Cause you're like, why didn't pay for it? - Right. - No. - So it's easy to skip. - Exactly. - Yeah, if you have no money in the game, what's it matter? - Like you claim them with the intentions to go and when the day gets there, you're just like, "Well, whatever, you never burn through." - And then the seats, you end up with empty seats everywhere. - Right. - Also think, I mean, it's just me, I think it should be a memorial now. - I do too. - We're not coming, I mean, let's be if we all, we all need to be honest. We're not coming close to filling up for this anymore. - At the last couple of years. - Last couple of years. - Last, the first pope one had a pretty good crowd, but probably post-COVID, except for the first pope one, the crowds have not been, they're still amazing, but they're not what they've been historically. - Yeah, if you're not a Kentucky person, you tuned in, you'd be like, wow, but compared to what we've had in the past, it's on a decline. - But if it was in memorial, it would feel like it was rocking. - And we made everybody line up. You would have one of the great atmospheres of the year. - No doubt. - We had a great atmosphere, just for the TBT, turn them in in memorial. Can you imagine now we're gonna have madness there? - Memorial would be great to have that VIP area, where you could host and have that part, but also do the line where it's general admission. - Make it the line. First of all, more students would come just 'cause it was right there. - Oh yeah. - Yeah. - The players are coming right out of their practice facility right there. - I mean, to me, that needs to be a change that they institute next year. Bigger is not always better. And you're not even really making money on Big Blue Madness 'cause the tickets are first. - That's true. - Down to two per household. I feel like it was four maybe in the past. - Two per household. - What does this says? - Are you just supposed to leave your kids at home? - That's what I wondered about that before. That's why I was looking to be sure. - What do you think of that night? - Only two per household? - There would be a limit of two tickets per household. Duplicate orders will be canceled. - So just throw your kids in the ocean. - Friday at five o'clock. - They should do three. If you had two kids, you gotta take your favorite kid and leave one behind. (laughing) - That's really like, do they not want people to bring children? Did Billy start this? Is this like his Billy organizing this? - I mean, that first of all, far be it for me to be the advocate for children. But are you, are they two per household? - I think what you do is you get all your kids in a room. - Do they mean two per household, like two orders, so that could be four? I mean, I'm reading this off of ukaathletics.com. - Two tickets per household or two orders? - There will be a limit of two tickets per household. - So just-- - All my orders are free, but we'll be-- - Just keep your kids away, people. I think you just lock them in a room and throw one ticket in there, and they'll never come out with the tickets. - I mean, the whole point of having big blue madness to some extent is for children. It's a fan event. You want your fans to be there. - Not the children of any age need a ticket. - Kids are gonna be working. - So you go, Friday at five, get in there. - Kids of any age, they don't mean that though. Do babies have to have tickets? I don't know about that. - I don't think babies do. - What's this children of any age? - But you're gonna have their own seat. - Yeah, you would have to probably have a ticket. - Two seems low. - I gotta ask, that can't be right. - I think I'd time to correct that. - It can't be right. I'm gonna ask somebody about that. All right, let's go to Joe. Go ahead, Joe. - Thanks for all that, gentlemen. Quickly, a comment on that are reported down in Birmingham. We haven't won the national championship. The SEC has it in three years. That would be my response to that man down there. I mean, let's get real. I'm an SEC fan. I mean, I know we're not very good in football. I'm still an SEC fan. Go on, Matt. - Now, what were you asking? I don't know the comment. You said the comment. What comment are you talking about? - He made a comment about her street. He needs to apologize. - Oh, okay. I'm not thinking about it. - That's fine, Matt. Okay, I should have been more clearer than that. And then my question to y'all, come against Texas A&M, Matt. Yes, we have a death problem. I think everybody knew that going into the year. And what do you do at A&M? Do you play some of your backups? Are you afraid that you keep some of your starters fresh for the second half or what? - No, you've got South Alabama next week. So I think you still play your whole team this week. Plus, you need to have a good performance after what happened with Alabama. You need to go out, you need to play well. You need to showcase that, you know, the team is competitive. You can play the backup, it's backups against South Alabama, hopefully. But, you know, we got a lot of guys who didn't even play much in the first game. And so, no, I think you play your team. I think it's also a bad message for a new coach just to say, like, we can't beat this team. So, I know what you're saying, Joe, but I think in this case, you play them. - Now, one more quick comment, Matt, to play that upset me the most in this game is when we jumped off side at the start of the second quarter. We had a third and 12 for Alabama. And I think the boy, I already had his mind who is gonna throw it to coach, we jumped off side and gave him basically a free play, but if we don't jump off side, I thought in this game, Matt, if we could ever guide up by 14 points, we had a great chance to really make your quarterback uncomfortable, but that was a scenario we could have got the ball back. - I totally agree with you, you're exactly right. That first drive, I appreciate the call. If you, if you could have stopped them Ryan on that first drive and got in the ball and then done something. with it. Then it's a different game. And we had two different chances, both with accepting that penalty and the penalty he just talked about where we could have gotten them off the field and we didn't. And then when they scored, it was, it was all, you know, you know, so we'll take a break. Be right back. KSR TJ Smith personal injury attorney called TJ. He'll make them pay. Now more of Kentucky sports radio presented by Stockton mortgage. Matt Jones walking back. Conway in the red. Yeah. They would have some ugly kids. It's great to see the world kind of finally getting where I did on Conway, like I start to see people will play his songs and be like, I can't believe they let this happen. It's really just stop and listen. I mean, you gotta listen the words. The ladies in the 70's loved Conway. Tweety and that's fine. But I don't think they were paying attention either. Robby not. Yeah, but then you look at him. He's not that much to look at. It's a little different. It was. You don't think you don't think Conway was hot? No. Okay. Well, everybody's got their own, which which country singers did you think was hot? Back in the 70's. Yeah. Wayland. Kenny Rodgers. He was hot. You had a crush. You're really in the Kenny Rodgers. Dolley party. What made what made Kenny Rodgers hot? Great hair. I mean, he had awesome hair. You thought about this clear? No, I'm not. So when they sang together, that was probably big for you. Oh, get me up at night. I was in the stream. That's right. That's what we are. Ryan. Ryan would lay in bed and have his own islands in the stream. You know, we talked about the gospel. But we didn't mention John Pelfrey played yesterday in the gospel show. Hang on just a second. John Pelfrey played net golf. He walked by at one point. Yes. Right. One of you said that looks like John Pelfrey. Ryan turned to me. Ryan, you said to us, man, that guy really looks like John Pelfrey. Did you not think there was any chance it was John Pelfrey? I didn't think he would be. I thought he's probably coaching somewhere. So when he made the turn and I got to talk to him, his son works at a bank in Somerset, but it was not John Pelfrey. It was because you said it looked like John Pelfrey, but the implication was it wasn't John Pelfrey. He was sure was. He was out there playing in our golf scram. Well, yesterday, it looked like it was John Pelfrey because it was John Pelfrey. Why didn't you say something? Come on. We could have had him on or something. Well, it wasn't for sure when he walked by there during the show. We are either because he didn't say anything to us either. He didn't say hello. Yeah. When I introduced myself to him, I think I'm Ryan with KSR. He didn't like acknowledge, like, oh, yeah. You know, man, you introduced yourself to him and he didn't say no. And I said, don't you know him? He was, you know, probably, you know, he had moved on by the time I got here. So you did say I'm Ryan Limon of KSR. And what did he say back to you? Like, okay, thanks. You know, hey, no, he didn't say my name's John. Well, I told him. I said, I'm Ryan Limon KSR because I'm John Pelfrey because like, yeah, I know who you are. But he clearly you didn't. Not when he walked by during the radio show. More than you guys did. Trying to knock me down. You guys didn't know he was like that you said, well, I know who you are. I know who you are. I know who you look like. He did walk. He was like three feet from us when he walked. I knew that for sure that John Pelfrey was there was when Mario posted UK legend John Pelfrey was there because I told him you didn't know who John Pelfrey was. Oh, that's right, man. Mario with some of our UK grades were still teaching him. So Pelfrey bought a house in Nicholasville and he's not coaching this year. So he lives in Nicholasville. Lives in Nicholasville. Okay. We had an open seat on the staff. Are we ever going to get a coach? I guess I'm taking crazy. I'm the only one that ever brings it up anymore. People are like, whatever. Guess you don't need a coach. So no GM too many cooks in the kitchen. No coach. Yeah. When I watch practice, there are 43 people. That's true. Remember Ryan's original scoop back in June is still still hanging out there. What's the scoop again? That Robin. He was going to just move Robinson into that spot. Coach Robinson. So are they going to announce it? I don't know. Well, he should ask John Pelfrey. Media madness is Thursday. Like yeah. Lara was very rock. So who else playing? Are you playing your playing, Mario, right? Are you playing Shannon? I'm at louder than life. Okay. Are you playing? I'm not playing. I'm going. I'm not playing. I've already signed my waiver and did my survey. There's a survey you're going to fill out. Okay. I'm not playing because I got to bat mine and it's during it. Can you do it from media madness? Well, I thought I could. They invited me, but now they're saying that no media can film anything, which I don't. I have to tell you, I don't really understand why we're doing this. If the media can't film it. Media can't film media. The media. They said yesterday, the media is not allowed to film media, Matt. Then why are we doing this media? That's what we do. That's what I was confused. I was talking to someone this morning. They're like, you're going to go out and buy basketball shoes. I was like, I didn't know what we're what the point of this is. So no one can see it. Why are we doing it? Well, Mario hit the nail in the head. It's probably their media people are going to do some sort of piece on it. Well, okay. They buy my basketball shoes. So Billy has no bat. Billy wanted to wear his hocus. And I was like, you cannot wear hocus. I'm wearing my monarchs. You're not wearing that. Are you? I don't have basketball shoes. I'm not going to buy any. So you're going to wear air monarchs. I guess. And Billy's going to wear hocus. I guess this is what we're going on the court with. I got the cons denim's, but they kind of hurt. They're uncomfortable. Yeah. You wouldn't want to play basketball. It's right wearing crocs. What are you guys doing? Are you going? I'm going to go and just yell at the other players like be a coach. I thought I thought I was going to get to do Matt and Marin there. And I was going to like give it national pub. But I don't think I'm allowed to do it. They seem like they would want you to do your radio show there. They know what people to film this. I mean, I would think that would be the thing that would be like the great thing. Yeah. Especially all the TV guys from Lexington and Louisville. They're going to want to show them. Everybody. Everybody. Like who wouldn't pay to watch Billy play basketball Keith Taylor. Exactly. And we do our that. That's our color playing. Someone told me he said he was going to play. He's not playing. He and I were going to sit together and yell at everybody. Okay. I don't know. That was an option. Yeah. I really wanted to see Mario back down Mark's story. I've heard that other outlets have matching uniforms and we don't because they're like, did KSR get uniforms? People have gotten uniform and this goes back to the, if we're not filming it, what are we doing in what do we need uniforms? If no one's going to see it. Yeah. Because our group chat this morning is like, apparently we're the ones that don't have our own team uniform. But I was in my youth basketball and we were the Lakers, but they wouldn't pay for the Jersey. So we just each had different yellow t-shirts. So Billy's going to have focus. I'm going to have on Monarchs and we're not going to match and everyone else is going to come out. Mario's going to be so embarrassed at our team. Well, I can't go. And I really want to go. Yeah, I should want you to go. They're yellow. But I thought I was going to get to do the show from there watching it. And now I can't. So I can't go. I hurt 75 media members are going to be there. And how's that going to work? In an hour, an hour on the court and what an hour. 32 on 33. Sounds like a big layup line. Well, again, it's cool they're doing it, but I wish they would let people film it. Now, apparently they're only allowing two tickets to big blue man. That is hard for me. I had one other, what are we doing? There's a fan fest, but it's the next day. So if you go to madness, you have to go home and come back to go to fan fest. Okay. Well, I don't know. I like the idea of I love that I don't. Hi, can you not take your kids? I can't believe I'm the person out here advocating for children, but like what family is going to want to go and not take their child or take one child or pick a child pick a child? I'm not for an hubby. He's going to be like, all right, Katie Clay Max. We love you more than you. Paper rockers. Or if you have two kids, you just drop them off and pick them up. Yeah. So this is a room full of kids. All the parents are white and outside like the movie theater. They got to get creative and have like grandma sign up for. But I just got confirmed. That's the way they're doing it. Wow. Per household. I don't know if that's a good idea. I will be deleted. Apparently according to the stage layout, given the stage layout, there's less availability. How big is this stage? I don't know. I mean, they already do a big stage and there's plenty room. What's going on? We got two stages. I don't know. Interesting. We'll figure out some. Let's go to Wayne. Go ahead, Wayne. Hey, you all remember back in when all nature our representative was in a hospital bed giving votes in the House of Representatives. I think it was around 97. You're allowed to do that. You're allowed to give votes from the hospital bed. They play rowding into the House of Representatives in a hospital bed. You all don't remember that? No, no, no, no. Mario. Do you remember that? 97? You remember you remember Mario wasn't born yet. So no, we don't remember it. But hey, but what I'm just saying is that's just a mark on. Okay, Tuckies, you know, representatives and senators and everything like. Yes. Here we got. Oh, Mitch McConnell. All right. Why don't want to just. I mean, I understand. Yeah. I appreciate the call, I don't like it, but it's not just about him. It's just in general. It's like, I don't like the idea of having an age limit because I don't think you should discriminate against older people, but I also think there needs to be like an understanding of, okay, you know, like, why can't it be like baseball like sports? There comes a point where people go, you know what, I can't do it anymore. It's time I hang on. But politicians don't think like that. They hang on. They don't think there's ever a moment they can't do it. It's just my time. Well, the real answer is all getting too rich to leave. Yeah. Dennis and Richmond. Go ahead, Dennis. Hey, hey, you know, a couple of things are first, Tim Tivo, one of my top three all-time favorite college players, if not my, all-time favorite college player, but I tell you what, I was so, of all the people that were done, when he took a handful of cake to it out and on to the students, I was like, man, that's so disrespectful. I can't believe he did that. Yeah. I agree. He must do that. Yeah, I'm going to give him benefit of the doubt, Dennis. Like, I don't think he probably thought, because I agree with you. He doesn't seem like a guy who would do so, but he, I think these guys, I think Drew kind of hit it. There's like this since now where all these guys are like, we're, let's do something crazy. And I think like, yeah, we, baby, we, and then like the next thing you know, they're throwing cake on people. Right. I think you're right. That's that's what he was thinking, but the, I couldn't believe he did that. As far, I think this weekend, there are often, just going to, in my opinion, to keep optimism going. There are often, when I need to move football. Yeah, I agree. I agree. I think that's the key. The key is, I appreciate it. We got to move the football. I mean, with Will Stein coming, the one thing you think is going to happen is we're going to move the football. That was the, he came there. That was his MO, you know, our offense is going to be not only impressive. It's going to be an innovative. So we need to show our ability to do that. Plus our defensive coordinators came from Texas. Oh, you can get football seasons here. That means tailgates, Clark's pumping shop, easy stop along the way, fuel up, grab what you need, earn rewards while you're there. You can get qualifying purchase in store and at the pump, free coffee Friday. That's right. Starting now through October 30th every Friday, you can get free coffee if you're a Clark 's reward member. So go in there, grab some coffee, get some gas, do your thing. It's one more way. Clark's makes your stop. Quick and convenient. It's Clark's pumping shop, return, refresh, refuel at Clark's pumping shop. At Clark's by the way, they'll let you bring your kids. I mean, as you want, you don't have to leave them. One in the parking lot. No kid. No candy for you. Only two people in the store, you're right back. Lisa? We should tell them about our new show. Oh my god, Lexi. We have a new podcast. I'm Lexi, you want to wear two bus friends, 22 years apart, but so close at heart. I'm not gonna get any worse than fighting. That is wild. Now in my 30s, being the founder of New Shoes, good taste is my business. If men were just honest about this, there would be so much more peace in the world. Because you told us how accommodating you are. Obviously, I would do what I think I could do to fight the fight, but there's only so much fight I can fight. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Lier. Listen on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts, I don't really care. Hi, this is Kylie Braykman, Angel Jaretana, and we're the hosts of the Artists on Artists on Artists on Artists Podcasts. The Improvised Character Comedy Podcasts were each week a new panel of artists discuss their craft. What I try to do is foe journal, I don't know, I think you guys heard of foe journaling. Yeah, it's reading. It's called reading. Yeah. So we don't like to use that word anymore. Okay. Are you your cartoonists? No! I've been dying too! I'm so sorry. I'm seeing a reading of Sadako in the Thousand Paper Cranes by Audrement Donald at the Wonderland Bookstore, 14. That's crazy. I went to the Wonderland Bookstore yesterday, and I heard Nora Jones do a reading of Zero Dark Thirty. No way! We'll have to come to the last bookstore though. Kim Katrol is reading the guitar tabs of yesterday! I hear you get the elbows here, the eyelashes hate each other. You've never seen Italy so quiet as when the Pope gets up to wink on Halloween. Listen to artists on artists on artists on artists on the I heard Radio App, Apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. Welcome back. Techie Sports Radio. I can't keep putting this off. I mean, he has set for a while. I was wondering if you were going to just leave them in the day. Bobby James down. Go ahead, Bob. What's it going to take for people to wake up and push back against this? I don't call it artificial intelligence, it's artificial information. I mean, it's going to make Hitler and Nazi seem like a cake wall. What's it going to take for people to wake up? And there's a long fly ball to love, Phil. See, that's what the Redwood sound like. Yeah. See, I think you think I can do a baseball game with this. I can't live you waited 50 minutes to hear that. That's more. I can't. I can't. And I can't be calling. I would. I would tune into your all's broadcast to hear it. Would you tune into 162 of them? Yes. Absolutely. I would. Yeah. I don't think Bob. I would. I would. I hope you're doing well. Hey, Hey, Matt. Uh, Joseph Beth is just sold out the bar. You know, saw that. I don't love that. But let's, I appreciate to call. I'm actually on my list of topics. I love Joseph Beth. Joseph Beth is one of my favorite places in Kentucky. I go there once a week. Why is he calling back? Yeah. He wasn't finished. What? He didn't appreciate the call. You are a team now. Stop it. Don't disrespect your broadcast partner. Bob, Bob, why did you call back? Hey, Bob. Okay. Hang up. All right. So, uh, I'm, I'm, so I'm bummed about that now. I mean, if Barnes and Noble leaves Joseph Beth like it is, they claim they're going to keep it independent. Okay. I didn't know that part. That's good. If they do. I hope they do. I actually oddly went into Barnes and Noble last night, coincidentally. And it's better than it used to be in the way they do stuff. But still, Joseph Beth, I just, I understand why Joseph Beth sold like it's hard and Barnes and Noble's got. I mean, I, I get it. I get the financial reasons. I'm not bummed. I mean, they've, they've done a great service to the community for 35 years, probably. But I am bummed because I do love that place. So is Joseph Beth the one in Hamburg and Barnes and Noble's one in Lexington, green? I never, have you never, how long have you lived here 30 years? You don't know where Joseph Beth is? I get them confused, which is which Joseph Beth in Hamburg, Barnes and Noble in Lexington, green or is the other way around. So the cell doesn't impact him whatsoever. You have no impact. on the sale. Like for you, it's just like those are books and I don't go there. 100%. This actually shocks me as long as you've lived in Lexington. I am very surprised. Joseph Beth has been in Lexington green since the 80s. So Joseph Beth is a Lexington green, but you said the opposite. Right. I have fond memories of Joseph Beth too, man. So you, have you ever, have you ever been in Joseph Beth? Walk through it to get to the restaurant. The restaurant's good. It's up there on the second floor. So you've gone through Joseph Beth to go eat that sandwich pot? Yes. Good sandwiches. I can guarantee you. So yeah, this is not going to have a big impact on his life, isn't it? I'm not as into books as you are, but I have several fond Joseph Beth. I love Joseph Beth. I was in there two weeks ago getting football preview magazines. I'm probably in there once a month. Do you ever like contemplate going in there? 100% no. I've never bought a book at either one of those places and probably never will. I do remember a big moment in Lexington. Do you remember the day that both Hillary Clinton and Dick Vitow were signing books at the same time? Yeah, Joseph Beth. That was huge. I know who had the longer one. There were thousands of people. Hillary was the first lady at the time. Yeah, I think she was. And Dick Vitow was at his peak. And they both, they accidentally, if I remember the story, they accidentally scheduled them at the same time double book and they didn't want to cancel either one of them. So both of them were there. And I remember the picture, like thousands of people were in the parking lot. That was a huge story. And like they would come up and they go, are you in Hillary Clinton's line or Dick Vitow's line? They should have put them at the same table and one line that would have been, I would have loved to play the game. Are they here for Hillary or Dick? The same day, same time. That was a, that's a big Lexington day. That's a good memory because I forgot about that day. I remember even before I lived in Lexington, it was like a treat to go to Joseph Beth and I was little. The big escalator. I will tell you a moment. I will tell you a moment where a young Matt Jones grew up a little bit. Shannon. Yeah. I can't believe I'm telling this, especially I got to see my parents tonight. Of course, this happened in a bookstore. My mom loves, loves Joseph Beth and we went one time. And I would, she'd let me roam around and you remember when Madonna had that book called Sex? Oh yes. Yeah. And someone had opened it because it was like sealed. It was sealed. Someone had opened it and I found it and I may have set in one of the aisles. And I was like, whoa, did your mom bust you? No. I would, that would have been way too embarrassing. I would like look to see if anybody was coming and turn one more page. Whoa. Had in the self-help section. Exactly right. She hit the swimsuit edition. Oh my mom would never let me see the swimsuit. She always went to the mill before you did. Cause I knew Sports Illustrated came on Thursdays and there'd be one Thursday a year. I wouldn't have it. That was their company holiday to you. And to me, I go, what mom, where's the Sports Illustrated and she said it didn't come this week. And I believe that for a long time. And then one time my friend Trevor said, eh, did you see Yelp McPherson? And I was like, oh, mom, I'm caught me capy-ironed. Yeah. I love Sports Illustrated, but I never dig. And you know, it still put articles in the swimsuit edition. Yes. They did? Yes. Yes. That's why we bought it. Oh yeah. Wink. Draft kings. I don't know what to say about draft kings. Reds Dodgers. Who's picking the reds? Nobody. No, nobody. 150 dollars in bonus bits. No, no, no. Ellie. Ellie gets a home run. You're going to Ellie home run? Yeah. Ellie home run prop. What is Ellie's start playing better at the end of the season when they're out of the pinnacle race? He's been really good since he all start right. He's been awesome. Yeah. So, so nobody's taking the reds. No. All right. Fair enough. Thank you all very much. We will see you tomorrow. Go listen to the cover zero episode one of the new season.
