2024 Barstool Pick Em Week 1

The episode blends deep football analysis with personal storytelling, focusing on the Michigan-Ohio State rivalry and its transformation under the new playoff system. The host argues that Michigan’s dominance—especially after defeating top teams like Penn State and Alabama—has redefined the rivalry, making it largely irrelevant in the modern era. A major theme is the perceived injustice of Connor Sallion’s dismissal, with the host criticizing Ohio State’s behavior as driven by jealousy and misinformation. The episode also includes detailed college football betting picks, with the hosts debating games like Georgia vs. Clemson, Penn State vs. West Virginia, and LSU vs. USC, citing team performance, coaching, and recent trends. Humor and personal anecdotes surface in the discussion of new content formats, such as a "boob" debate show involving Rico, Titz McGee, and a fictional "Men of Honor" concept. The hosts highlight the emotional stakes of loyalty and program identity, particularly in how underdog teams like Colorado State and Hawaii are seen as overlooked value. Throughout, the tone balances serious commentary with levity, showcasing their commitment to transparency and viewer engagement. The episode reaffirms Michigan’s status as a national powerhouse while poking fun at rival programs, ultimately celebrating both football excellence and the personal passion behind the picks.

The second I make them on Traffking's, we're getting graphics up before I even press publish. I'm like, how they even know I did that pick. Yeah, you like, we were at Saratoga and we'll talk about that. You were like, wait, how, like I didn't even realize I put this in yet and it was like Georgia Tech in India and Fever. So yeah, follow us on Traffking's. Bar stool pick 'em, week one, we are, we are back with a full slate. I know people were like, oh, there's only 30 minute episode last week. Well, guess what? There was four games. I hate week zero. We have a lot to discuss. We've got, I don't know where we want to start. Rico is a superstar now. Dave is a rat snitch. Which one you guys like to do first? I'm a rat snitch. I saw that clip, Dave. That looked bad. I watched the documentary. It was outstanding. It was the Connor Sallion documentary for anyone who missed it. It was outstanding. And it, it, again, on a serious note, as a Michigan man, Michigan has to welcome this guy back. He basically died on the sword for the team. He's done nothing wrong. Everybody does wait. The whole thing's crazy. The clip you're talking about, again, you edited it. I love it. I've been, I didn't edit it. No, no. Oh, it, it, it, it, it's a production that's trying to get eyeballs. So the question, the questions were, you know, was Connor Sallion's present when JFK was shot? Well, yeah, Connor Sallion's told me was Kanye to Connor Sallion's land on the moon. Yeah, Connor Sallion's what I said. He's Kaiser So say he is the boogeyman. He is what keeps other teams up at night. We want everybody thinking Kaiser So say it's bell check is everywhere. So yeah, they, and they took that one part, but I was answering, yes, everything. Wait, so they asked you about JFK, everything. So, so, so Dave, so, the clip we're in question, we can put it in. We can put in the audio. Connor Sallion essentially was like laughing at the thought that it was him on the central Michigan sideline, and then it goes right today, being like, yeah, that was Connor. He told me, correct, correct, which I was, was he on the land moaning morning was he there? D day everything on the moon, the, the moon, the moon landing, everything. I'm like, yeah, it was, yeah, it was Connor. Yeah, Connor told me, yeah, Connor's in the locker room. Yeah, Connor knows the plays. That's what everyone's so scared. And then you have, which I don't even know the bigger story that you're glossing over is that Buckeye Brandon was, was wearing a ski mask. So nobody would know who he was. We just lost the video, but we can keep going because the audio is fine. Wait, Buckeye Brandon, I got to watch this. I didn't owe her back to be, I got to watch it. So Buckeye, there was an anonymous Ohio State fan. He was telling me to tell me who that is. That, that looks like Brandon. Yeah. Yeah. So when you walk away from this tape, do you think they cheated? No, the whole thing, they, they have a, Dan, they have a throw away line at the end of the, what's happening? Nothing. I'm sitting on a cord. They have a throw away line at the end of the show where like, oh, by the way, everybody was doing it. Like, we like, Dan, that's not what I asked. They didn't cheat. No. I think the Michigan cheated. I don't think Jim Harbaugh knew. I don't think Harbaugh knew in Michigan and cheat. That's my, that's my line. I'm using. It's very bellicucky and like, like Connor Sallion's never advanced scouted himself. What do you mean? He never advanced scouted himself. He never was at games advanced scouted. Oh, yeah, I did see that one clip where he was like, they're like, you sent other people. He's like, well, I, I had tickets that I resold. I don't know who I resold them to. His mother loves football. His mother went to a game. You think his mother was advanced scouting? He was like, yeah, I resold tickets to all kind types of games. And they're like, did any of the people you, that you don't know that you resold tickets to send you anything back? They're like, yeah, some people sent me videos. Yeah, right. Because they, they, they know how much he loves football. He's like, he's like, I already have it. Yeah, you just send things. He's like, I think he literally said, like at Christmas, you send gifts. But it, it, the whole thing. And I'm loving it. Like, yeah, you can just play this role again. It's, it's, I mean, I'm jealous that you get to do this because you won the title. If you didn't win the title, this would have actually been painful because you would have cheated and then also not won it. But now you get to just, damn, you get to do what you're doing. That Buckeye Brandon, they had an old high, his name is Bro, Ohio, Buckeye Brandon, bro, Ohio, bro, Ohio, he, he looked like he was going to an antifa protest. That is how in their own head, the Buckeye, I, I can't go a minute without the Buckeye's worrying about Michigan and Connor's stallions. The only thing I'll say is Michigan, the people of Michigan, the program, everything. We have to welcome Connor back. And I say this dead serious. Connor's nobody has been fucked more than Connor status. Connor's stallions only, I won't say crime, only flaw was being too good at his job better than everybody else. This guy, as I've said from day one, a US Marine who from the second he came out of the womb wanted to bring Michigan, a national title into prominence. And he was dedicated to that. Other teams have it. The fact that this guy lost his job and can't coach for doing nothing wrong is insane. It because you have jealous Ohio state people breaking into computers and commuting fraud because you can't beat Michigan. This guy every team has a guy stealing signals in doing what he was doing. He was just better. And by the way, the part that I love and again, we beat Penn State, Ohio State, Alabama, Washington, Michigan state after the signal thing was done. It's like, what are we talking about? It's so it's so dumb, but I love it. Hey, so you love the doc. You thought the doc was great. I thought it. I thought it should be up for an Oscar. I thought I should be up for an Oscar. So it was spectacular credit to Lebron. Well, Lebron tried to do a hit. He was the executive producer. I know, I knew that going in. Yeah. So credit to him. He did it spectacular. I know he had nothing to do with his name on it. That's like, do I have to credit if the Red Sox and when the World Series, do I have to like congratulate Lebron? Yeah, that's why he's part of Fenway Sports Group. It was a great documentary. It was well done. Connor really has been screwed. Everybody wishes they would have a Connor. And it's sad. Ohio State is a sad pathetic group of people. I did, I did think I love the tape stayed up till 2 a.m. to live watch it. He's like, yeah, he's a psychopath. He has nothing. And by the way, he's a like, you have to earn my knowledgement as a rival. He doesn't have it. Like big F and and Buckeye Brandon, those are my Ohio State people. Like, Tate is a nothing. Tate, Tate, Tate doesn't even have the right to speak to me. He's got a Tate has a list of teams that he thinks are a threat to Ohio State. Concerned. Crosses them off as the season goes. It's pretty funny. Well, I mean, this season's going to be hilarious because Ohio State people are just giving them the championship saying this is the best team. This is the best that I'm going to tell you something. The quarterback, the kid from Houston, right? What's his name? Stay. We'll have no no no no no no no. CJ Stroud. CJ Stroud. Pretty good player. Pretty fucking good. player had a pretty good wide receiving core. Couldn't beat Michigan. I think this big glute rushing guy. I heard a guy say they will miss Marvin Harrison. That's what you're going to be. That's the difference though, Dave. They are, listen, we'll see what happens or how stayed on paper. They've been the paper champions for a few years in row. I'll say, the only thing I'll say about them this year, Dave is they are different in the fact that it looks like they will be more like Michigan last year in bullying teams because they got, they were soft and they don't look soft. I don't look soft is soft Ohio State is soft. All right, and it goes back to that quote from Brian Hart line, what we do in the darkness will come out in the light and we just punch them in the mouth and we run it down the throat. I'm not worried about Ohio's in first of all, the Michigan Ohio State game is devalued by nature now because of the new playoff. It's like in the last real one. Yeah, like the loser of that game, the loser of that game, most likely nine out of 10 years is going to go to the playoffs. You're both undefeated, even one loss you're going to playoffs. So you got to, this is like I'm Jewish, I know our Christian friend who brings pork on young keep poor. There's like before Christ after Christ, right? Like for this, you have to look Michigan Ohio State rivalry. We closed the book. We won that rivalry. It's over. We won the last big game. We won the last national championship. We humiliated them on every level. They're afraid to show their face. You're up all time on wins. That wins everything. They're Ohio State fans are afraid to show their faces in public. They have to mask up. So this new era, they like, honestly, does it really matter if Ohio State beats Michigan this year in the final game, but we both go to the playoffs. Not really. It's just totally changed this dynamic. We'll beat them anyways, but they can, and I said it in real time, they can never make up for what happened last year ever. They had a chance if they could have beaten us to invalidate the past three seasons. They could have been cheating this. That none of it matters. Instead, we beat them like a drum. Like we always beat them like a drum. We said it has nothing to do with the playbook. We're tougher, bigger, stronger, meaner than you pussies. And that's it. And then we rolled through Alabama. And we rolled through Washington. We brought the national championship back where it belonged to Ann Arbor with the most winning program of all time, the defending national champions. It's all over. I don't even consider I hand to God. I consider Georgia a rival now where the two premier pro Ohio State is just Penn State, Wisconsin. I don't think about it. We play for national championships at Michigan. We don't play for just big 10. We play on a national level. Something Ohio State hasn't snipped in decades. We're a national program, which I've said from the beginning. This is where I'm jealous of you just because the spin zones are just all time. It's true. I can tell right now that someone's listening to this getting so upset, saying that the rivalry will never, it's never going to be the same in you won the last, the last one. That's not, I mean, the playoff totally changes. Yeah, right. So it's basically not even, so you went out on top. The last winner take all the last three winner take all games. We won. And by the way, you're never going to get Harbaugh. He left on top. He's making fun of you from San Diego. The SAA. Well, them issuing fines to Harbaugh. That's like me issuing a fine to McAfee right now. Like McAfee is suspended. It's like, well, you don't work for me. Like what? It's insane. Oh, man, I can't wait. People are going to be so mad. This is you've got it, Dave. And you are. You are. But you're rat, but I rat. Did you see the smirk I was having the time in my life? I call, I called Connor. I go, we got him again, Connor. Oh, man, all right. Let's talk. Bro, that guy broke James Sarka off, the guy who went to show his face. It was so mad that we were doing content with Connor. He's like, he is trolling us for Dave Portner. I think this is a joke. As he's masked up, they can't, I, they're so, it's so stupid that they're falling for what you're like laying out for them. Power sweep. It's crazy. It's crazy. Before we talk about Sarah, hey, pick them listeners. Well, I made back some with Jerry. So yeah, the little syndicate Jerry. I thought you won. We I owed Jerry some money. So we, we cleared that debt. But let me wait, but you won, right? Yeah, we won. I lost everything. Myself, but splitting it. I did okay. Well, so you didn't lose. I didn't lose. I lost. So so when you say I lost everything, you won, though. You lost the way up. Yeah, it was up. I was up. I was up. I was up. So it's kind of tough. This is so you didn't lose everything. No, I didn't lose everything. It's pretty tough for me to hear that when I lost 25. Yeah, right. Yeah, right. I heard Dan go, I lost everything. You I lost everything too. And then but you're up. Little syndicate. Dave, you got hot at the end. I mean, I still had this thing. Like I I did poorly. I still had a great time, even though I probably didn't seem like I had a great time at the end of the stream. I had a couple of people like to I felt like a girl being like sexually harassed because I had a bunch of people tweeting me like, we smile a little on the stream. I was like, I'm trying, but it's hard right now. Yeah, it's hard when you're getting killed. I was up going into it and then like before the weekend because I've been hot and we lost LA when I lost most of it. We're down to kind of like, I have 400 grand, I think in the account or down in in DK horse. We're down to about 60 or maybe 80. And I put 50 on fierceness and that basically at one point and then LA one on that too because we do our syndicate. So he had to include fierceness. He liked the girl, Thorpedo, but he had to keep box it with fierceness because he wasn't going to root against my bet. So that ended up working. And we ended then he won one at Delmara and we were up for a little bit, but we ended up down. It saved us. That's the biggest single horse bet I've ever hit. I've never hit like one of those big big boy bets. So that was great. And it was it was smart too because I was debating. I was in the point of the day where it's like, I need to I have one bullet left. I'm going to go for the 10 to 1, whatever. Three horse. I should have bet fierceness not only because you bet it, but because what happened like two hours later was what I was dreading when Ripoli texted me. It was like, what a race told you fierceness. And I was like, God fucking dammit. This is why you have to bet it. And I have a long history of Ripoli being on the wrong side. And he fucked us early in the day. So I saw it being like, well, if I jump off his picks, this is when fierceness will win. He now. Micropoly loves using his own product like he is high on his own product at all times. So he's always gung ho about virtually every horse he owns and he has 300 of them. So it's sometimes hard to tell. But he really loved fierceness. He really loved fierceness. Well, yeah, we were victims of that because he told us when he came on the set with us, he said, Oh, I have a horse named yellow in Monmouth Park. Bet it. It's he's a monster. And we bet it. And that was that was basically the end of my day because I said it. But when you go to the track, you are mentally prepared to lose money at the track you're at. Yeah, not accidentally prepared to lose at random tracks. Rico, did you have fun? Yeah, I thought it was a blast. Thank you for having us, Dave. I thought it was awesome. It was a great time. I had a great time. Great. And that was a great race, or Pito Anna. I really was. The only thing everybody in the world rooting for her except people who bet against her. But that was she put on quite an effort. Yeah. All right. So the other thing I had was Rico's a star, walking back. Yeah, with Titz McGee. He went. So for since last week, we recorded he went from healthy debate like a show that was bad and losing in like just didn't have any viewers to starting a world war of boobs online. And now we get him. Yeah. Now he no longer has healthy debate, but he now has what do we call it? Rico walks. Rico walks. Yeah, I saw that. I saw that. We did it because she does walking bets. That's not the new pre-break. That's why you did it. Yes, that's why we did it. That's why we walked. We're not - I'm not still on Frank's thing of walking. - I didn't put that together. - Okay. (laughing) - We go on, Bariko, you can't stop going over a million every week. - I know, yeah, we're going to every, we're running out of products, we're going to every Saturday now for game days. - So what do you mean? We're running out of products for the walks. - Boob's? - Yeah, running out. - You're running out of, you're only getting a cruelly-- - We're starting to cruelly-- - We're starting to cruelly-- - We're still recruiting, but-- - One of these videos a week now? - I'm running out. - Can't you repurpose? - Yeah, you can repurpose. I didn't think that was-- - Am I hearing this correctly? You haven't been-- - Okay, going. - You have a hit success and you're only doing it once a week. - That's what you guys did to healthy debate though, too, Rico. Don't let 'em, don't let 'em keep going, that's it. - Yeah, I will say, it can't be the same thing. I'll run it into the ground. - Right. - That's why I know what this is. - What about the third combination of-- - Now we met her, like the whole thing was building up of like I'm doing it, you're doing it, I'm doing it, and then we do it together. - How was she? How was she? - I thought she was nice. So there's a show that has been talked about that Rico has agreed to discuss. A debate show featuring Rico on one side, Nadu on the other, and Titz McGee is the ref. And you've agreed, Rico. - It seems like it's an idea, yeah. Nadu would never go to New York for that though. - Well, Rico wants move to Chicago. - That's better. - The long-talking camp about it. Zoom is better, Hank, I can't be in the same room. Zoom is better. - No, no, no, no, no, you're already putting in a half. - Zoom is not better, yeah. - It would have to be in the same room. - Yeah. - Would have to be in the same room? - Yes. - Of course. - You have to not only see Nadu, but you gotta see Boots. - But it like is, I don't consider my people say, I'm a sexist, man. I don't consider myself a sexist, man. It's like Titz McGee, okay, being called Titz McGee. - I don't know. I don't know. - No, she didn't really blink at that, but I don't know if we broke that name. - Because she's so in your face with them, like that's where. - I don't even, I honestly, I tune in for the picks. So you are a sexist. I'd even notice she had- - I- - What is Boots? - What's her first name? - Taylor. - Taylor, Taylor Mathis. - Oh, that works too. Taylor. Taylor, Taylor, Titties. - I mean, she knows what you do. So I think she's probably in on it. Titz McGee may be not, but something along those lines. - Yeah, and there was another girl who was fighting you Rico or no fighting the other. - No, you see, yeah, she was saying she created it. - Like what a name. - Like Men of Honor featuring Titz McGee. (laughs) - Time with Boots. - Yeah, like the two men. - Oh, poster with the Boots, just in the middle, or it's even the two O's in honor. Are Boots. - Yeah. - There it is. So I mean, Rico, congrats. You have a, we've pivoted, right? I'm gonna get in contact with them. They do actually DM me days. Like, we'll Rico do it. I'm like, I think he will. So I gotta find out where Taylor is at. I think that, yeah, Men of Honor. - Yeah, it's gonna work. - The two O's being Boots. You're saying what Nidu would also move to Chicago? - Oh, I don't know about that. Well, Rico also told me, again, that he wants to move to Chicago. I want him to, but I don't think he will, but we'll have to maybe do it in New York first. - Why, you know what I mean? - Is everything all right? - Rico, you're kind of like petting the couch. - Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's just my nervous tics. - It's one. - I can see he's getting a little bit riled up. - Why are you getting riled up, Rico? - It could be a hit show. - Could be. - Is it, is it-- - It doesn't have to be daily. - No. - Like once a week. - Yeah, you list like the topics of the week for debate style. She's the ref, she awards the winner. - Okay. - Like your motor boater for whoever can't like that side. - She's like, "Hey, Jesus, come on, Dave." - Come on, Dave, that's sexist, disgusting. - That would be how you declare the winner. Respect the ring. - What? - Oh. - Well Rico, you're in the boobs business now. - Yeah. - I don't know if you know that, but you're in the boobs business. You can't be like, "Oh shit, I don't want to do this. You're a boobs guy now." - Right, yeah. - That's what we're doing. - Yeah, you lost all the rest of it. - So what do you think? - Do it daily or do it every week with the walking bets? 'Cause I am running out of products. - I was just saying like, I was thinking more like the NFL schedule like, why wouldn't you do a Thursday night pick a Monday night pick? - Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. - But you could do it weekly. - All right. - I mean, it's a great idea. So why would you, why would you? - I had a chance to get old. You're really gonna have to keep it like, interesting. - Yeah. - Jack, you wanted to say something? - Yeah, Rico, how did you come up with that idea? How did I come up with that idea? - How did I come up with that idea? - That came from your brain, right? - Well, while I was on a plane, Dan and Gazz were texting me, "Yeah, you should go do this." So yes, we're all three, we're new, I knew I had to do a walking bet, they were also texting him as well. Jack, yes, the credit, the Jackie commenter of, yes, Rico has no original ideas. There you go, Jackie, you win another point, you're fucking Coke bag. Rico, do you think you would have just got back, Jack? Like, we just got back. - Rico, I thought I did check, right in my bag. - Rico, do you think you would have done that without us pushing you? - Yes, yes. - I do not. - A thousand percent. - Oh, shit. - Oh, fuck you, shit. - You want to see the text of fun, Anthony? Like, when, yeah, when did you text fun, Anthony? - I'll tell you right now. - Okay. When did you get Taylor on board? - Yesterday. But the original thing that happened was when, when this whole thing, like we DMed her and she got right in. - When this week? - All right, my team. Doug's, me, the whole, they have the access to the social. All right, Thursday at, Thursday at 5.38 p.m. Need your help ASAP to fun, Anthony. Now let's see. - What, what are you, what are you talking about? - I'm pulling up what time you guys text me. - Yeah, I got it right here, 256. - Rico, you're not, that was the plane. - You're not a, you're not an ideas guy. It's not a big deal, but like we, I don't think you would, he just said he had it going. - No, he didn't. He said 5.36 p.m. - No, he said, I think he said a.m. Rico for, for fun, Anthony. - No, he's not texting the fun, Anthony. - No, I'm five. - Yeah, it's text me before. - It was three hours before that Gazz and I told him, we, Rico, you're, I don't think you, it's like two hours, there's a zero percent chance you would have done that if we didn't push you to this. - Okay, zero. Rico has never shown that type of creativity and like initiative ever. But to his credit, yes, he usually would have been like, I'm not doing it, correct. He was all in, I'll give him full credit for that. - My yes man now. - With the fact that Gazz and I, the fact that Gazz and I had to explain to him, like we had to basically, you know when they do top, but it was already calculating in there, like. - No, I know what's it. You know when they do top shaft and they're like, we need to deconstructed this. We, Gazz and I had to deconstruct Barstool Sports for Rico. We're like, all right, so we're gonna get some gambling picks and we're gonna get some boobs and we're gonna put them together and then put it on a newspaper. What do you think? And he was just like, I never thought about that, but he had a good idea. - That's a good idea. - Rico, don't you want me to have your million views? - Yeah, I'm happy you're doing it. - That's gonna be what, your biggest, is that the biggest one you've ever had? - No, I've had a couple like that. I think in that neighborhood. - Outside of violence? - Uh, violence and boobs. - Yeah, exactly. - You just are rated our movie, you, that's, I think that's actually what we're learning. When you try to make a PG-13 movie, you won't sell. - Right. - You need to be rated are, yeah, you need to be N-17, yeah. All right, so what's healthy debates, it's over? Tell us what's the update. - We're updating, I mean, we're changing it up to different videos outside of the office that I've been working, so we'll keep riding it out. - What is this cameo you made in hers? - You walk through, it's a little bit. - Yeah, walk through, it's a home and home. - This has been a great week to be a rider. - Great week. - What is, what are you doing, Jack? What are you doing, Hank? - Well, there's no more calling healthy debates. - None. What are you gonna say? Jack, you got something? - No, I just thought it was hilarious that you didn't realize you were in the back of that Mathis. - Yeah, I thought it was a tighter shot. - I thought it was a tighter shot. - That video's hilarious. - I should have walked, I should have just walked outward, but yeah, you looked really awkward back there. - I did look awkward back there, it was one take. - He's really, he's, tables is really hammering, hammering. (laughing) - All right, should we talk some football boys? - Yeah, yeah. - Why don't you do the FX and the Factor Read Recon, then we'll start talking football and do some picks. - All right, let's do Factor. Get your sub-fix on Game Day in order in store or the Jersey mics app. - All right, boys, it is week one. Do we have any futures or thoughts, season-long thoughts before we get into our games and the cards? - I'll give you the win totals, I bet. - Oh, love that. Virginia Tech over eight, SMU over eight, they look like shit. Texas Tech under seven and a half, Duke under five and a half, Oregon over 10 and a half, Oregon win the title plus 750. - You're back on the ducks. - Back on the duckies. - Okay, Dave, do you have any thoughts? - No, I think Colorado is gonna have a better season than people think, what is there total? - Let me find it on Draft Kings, hold on. I also have one that I wanted to talk to you guys. - I love Draft Kings. - We're Draft Kings people, unless someone tells me you can't organize, I've scrolled up and down there, win totals, no less than a thousand times, trying to find teams. - Yeah, we gotta get that fixed. I like, the only thing I like here I'm finding for you, Dave. You can also do search a lot of times, Dave. Like if you put in just Colorado, - Where? - There's a search on the top. - That's what I do for a lot of these. I'll just search Colorado. - All right, I search Colorado, Colorado Buffs, team odds, team props, team, no, this is all, but then it's just team futures. - This might not have the win totals yet. - No, team futures, call it football. - The one future I was thinking about that I would like to get your guys thoughts on. - Is five and a half for Colorado, Dave. - Five and a half. - So, yeah, I love that. Let me look at their schedule. - Is Utah 55 to one to win the title? And I know they're not gonna win the title. - But you're gonna get into Hedgeville? - Yeah, because I do think they're gonna be the best team in the big 12. - They can have a one to four seed yet. - Right, if they, the way the playoffs works, if they got the four seed, let's say, they would be playing maybe Notre Dame, or the five, the best team, the five ranked team, and they wouldn't have to play, or they would be already in the quarter final, right? And then Semi, so I'd have a hedge spot possibly. 55 to one, if they're in the quarter final, maybe they win that game, if you're in Semi's, I don't think they're gonna win at all, but you could maybe be in a spot where you could. It's all betting on cameraizing, though, staying healthy, which is not gonna happen. - Five and a half Colorado? - Yeah, let's, let me look at their schedule. - North Dakota state win, Nebraska win, Colorado state win. - Oh, I don't know, Nebraska might not be a win. - Fail or win, you're talking a little constant too much. UCF win, Kansas state at home win, there you go. There's six and a half. They could start six and a half. - You having beaten Kansas state at home, yeah. - Okay. - Actually, Dave, that reminds me, next week we'll all beat together here in the office, 'cause we're gonna do an awesome Draft King's stream on Wednesday night. I would invite you, I would like to invite you, cordially invite you to be the ribbon cutter for the Will Compton Museum. - Oh, I saw that. I'm happy to do that. - Okay, yeah. So it's in the handicap stall of the back bath room. - I saw that, I love that. - I have a whole thing that's gonna open next week. He's so mad at me. - I love it. - He's so mad at me. So you're gonna take over five and a half wins? - I like that. I don't like doing futures that ties my money up, but I do like that. - I got such, I like that. - What's Kansas? I think they're gonna be good. - Fine, Kansas for us, Jack. - I would say. - I think Kansas can be good to have nine wins. - Nine. - That's high for me. - No, it's eight, my whole line is 135 over eight. - The only problem with Kansas is they don't have the backup anymore. - Yeah, I know. But I don't want futures. I just bet national championships. Maybe I do it. I'm still the only future that I'm dead or lost was the Emmett and Oilers. I have the Phillies and Baseball in the end of fever and WMBA, but that's such a flyer. I won't consider that really. I mean, I may be able to get out. So I'll probably pick a football team, but I may see how it goes. I may take Michigan. I think people sleeping on Michigan. Sleep, sleep, sleep. - I agree with you just because of the new playoff. Like I think Michigan is going to be one of those teams that will make the playoff. They might have two, maybe three losses, but they'll be just a really difficult out once you get to the playoff. - I know. So, okay, so are you going any Heisman? - No, no Heisman. - Okay. Should we do some games? - Sure. - Let's talk some games. We actually have some pretty good games. I don't know where you guys stand on it. I hate week zero. I think it's always the time. I'm so sick of it. That Georgia Tech Florida State game was great, but the fact that there was no game after that, like immediately after that was a big game. If you give me four big games on the first week zero Saturday, I'm in, but giving us one and then just being like, "Oh, we're gonna get into this." - Yeah, because you're not ready to commit. It's like this Saturday, you can commit to football. Like what are you doing, Seth? It's like football. This past still horse racing. That's why I thought I was done with Saratoga, 'cause it's very difficult to juggle a full day of Saratoga and a full day of football. - Actually, close to impossible. - Yeah, it's really hard. - Yeah. Okay, so we have five great games. There's obviously other games we'll get into our cards. If this is your first year listening to Pickham, we're gonna, there's five games every week that we all have to give a pick on then we add with our cards and we have a mortal lock. Rico and I are both O and two on the season, Dave. I think you're one and O. - One and O. - That is the strategy to fade Rico. That is, there are times where that has been good. - It's been positive. - I'm a rider, so I will not be fading Rico this year. - Finish second last year, but. - But I will say, you finished second. You were down 40. - You were down 40 at a half and like, you never got within 10, really. It was like a fake second, you know? - Yeah, I think I ended up losing by like three percentage points. - I mean, they don't give, they don't give trophies. - They don't give second half trophies. - Right, there's two names on the Pat Hill trophy. It's, it's Dave Portino and Dan Katz. - Yep. - And we both have it on and they're twice. - Yep. - And it is tough to, only three percentage point. That's a lot. - We're at the end of the season. Like it's hard. - It's hard. - Yeah. - You're acting like it was three picks. - That is a shit load. Oh, okay. First stop, Clemson and Georgia. Kicking off early on Saturday. Georgia number one team in the country, Clemson. I think they're like 13 or 14. - Georgia's minus 13 and a half over under is 48 and a half. Recall, start with you. - Two stats to consider here. Teams who are number one in the AP poll in 1988 and won against the spread and season openers and 10 and two against the spread. If they've won 13 or more games the previous year. But dabbo is 12 and one against the spread as an underdog catching five or more. With that said, I'm going with Georgia. 'Cause I don't wanna be against Georgia. - You should give us two conflicting stats. - Two totally conflicting stats. - Just don't even say the Clemson said that. - Oh, don't say either stat then. - Or say just the Georgia stat. - All right, you can find a stat for everything. Why would you say post stats? - 'Cause I mean, there's two sides of the bet. You could be on either side. If you love one of this, everyone knows that's how to skate. - Yeah, exactly, exactly. But with that said, I wanna be on Georgia. I wanna be on Georgia. I do not wanna be sitting there, praying to God, Clemson stays within it. Give me Georgia. I'll die with Georgia. - All right, I'm also taking Georgia and I'm doing it just based on vibes. I'm not doing it on stats or anything like that. It just feels like, and I know Clemson, people have him, that them is like kind of a bounce back year for dabbo and Kate Columbus, a good quarterback. I just feel like these games always go one way. It's either Alabama or Georgia opening the season and just absolutely throttling someone. And everyone being like, holy shit, this team looks like incredible. They'll obviously, Georgia will be in some, they have a ridiculously hard schedule. I think they have to go to Texas and Alabama. But I'll take Georgia in this game. - Dave. - It's a clean sweep, which makes me nervous. I do think there's a rust factor sometimes at the first. And it's crazy is I still give a lot of weight to the name Clemson, even though they haven't been good now for a couple of years. But I mean, when they were good, as good as Georgia, Michigan. in the top of the top teams. So, but I'm gonna go to Georgia here. - I also have a stat. This actually is a real stat. So, well, two stats. One is there are three coaches right now. Coaching and Assembly Football who have won a national title. Can you name all three? - Obviously those two. - Yup. - And Mac Brown. - Yup. - That's crazy to think about. That's it. Those are the only three. - We lost everybody. - I think also there's a stat. So, I bring that stat up because Nick Sabin obviously has a shitload of national titles. He's no longer coaching. I'm pretty sure it's been since-- - Harbor. - Yeah, yeah, in Urban Meyer, but they're not coaching. - Harbor. - Yeah, Harbor. I'm pretty sure it's been since 2020. 2020, so that's what? Three seasons going on to the fourth season. That Georgia has not lost to a single opponent besides Nick Sabin. - What? - That's it. That's all. 'Cause yeah, 2021, they lost in the SEC championship to Alabama then won the title. 2022, they went undefeated. Last year, they lost in the SEC championship which is still one of the weirdest game plans I've ever seen by Georgia. And yeah, so they have two losses in the last three years and they're both to Nick Sabin. - Did the years they lose to Alabama? Did Alabama go on to win the title? - No, they did not because Georgia won one and Michigan won one. Good question, Dave. - Good job, yeah. - Okay, yeah, it's been forever. And I think it's probably even been longer that they've lost a non-conference game. I don't even, I would have to let me look real quick. It's probably been forever since they've lost a non-conference game. 20, I'm in 2018 now. They haven't lost a non-conference game in like probably eight years. This is crazy, their run is pretty insane. Ah, yeah, Georgia Tech in 2016. All right, next game, so clean sweep there, next game. We got Penn State at West Virginia, Penn State minus eight, over under 51 and a half. Drew Aller, do you believe? James Franklin is probably the luckiest guy in the world with the expanded playoff. Basically, he was never gonna make the playoff in 14 playoff 'cause he was never gonna beat Michigan Ohio State, now he doesn't have to. Now we'll just make it every year, not beating them. I'm gonna take Penn State here minus eight, though. - I got West Virginia. I think they keep this close, not a Drew Aller fan. And I still think West Virginia can be a tough place to play. I readily admit, people make fun. I watch football the entire season with all the change and everything. I just go on what is in my head is programs for week one. I don't have the books, I don't. I mean, I know the top programs, but eight points West Virginia at home, I could see them winning this game. I don't think Penn State has been good for a long time. - Well, they're good, they're very good against-- - Ish, non-Michigan in Ohio State teams. Like James Franklin's, I think he's like-- - It's one in nine wins every year, yeah, 10 wins. - He's like one in 14 against top 10 teams. - I guess I'm just so used to seeing them get pummeled by Michigan, that's like a downgrade him. I'm gonna take West Virginia. - No, Penn State season, basically every single year goes the same. They start hot, they'll beat like-- - Do they Iowa or Wisconsin, who is somehow ranked? They'll throttle those teams. Everyone will be like, Penn State's different this year. And then they'll either go to Columbus or in Arbor, one of them will come there and they'll lose. - And then make a new year at six bowl. - Right, and we didn't even throw a pass first them last year. - Yeah, yeah. Rico, your thoughts on this? - Yeah, West Virginia. I agree, it's a tough place to play. I'm obviously gonna always go against State Penn. I'm taking West Virginia plus the eight. - Okay. - Which could be a problem if State Penn starts to get things rolling and I'm just sitting there betting against them every time. But West Virginia. - Yeah, well, you got morals. - Yes. - You got morals. - All right, before we get to the next three games-- - Convenient morals. - Oh. - Hey, pick 'em listeners. - This episode is brought to you by State Farm. Football has a play for just about everything. You can go deep, keep it on the ground, or drop something nobody sees coming. And whether you want to run a flea flicker or the push push, you need a plan to fit your unique situation. That's why State Farm takes the time to get to know you so they can help personalize coverage for your life and budget. Now, that's a solid game plan. Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there. - Big one in Florida. Miami at Florida minus two and a half over under 53 and a half days, I'll start with you. - So, Cam Ward is obviously big news right at Miami. He's a game changer, but I'm still taking Florida at home. I just am not, I don't know, Miami. There's a hot seat. The coach is on the hot seat there. - Yeah. - On the Oregon guy. - That's the ball. - Oh, Miami. - Well, both guys are. - Both, Billy Napier's on a hot seat, too. - Yeah, I'm gonna take Florida. I hope Danny Boykain is tough to do. But yeah, I just, I have no faith. If this game was at Miami, I would have said Miami. It's at the swamp, right? - It is at the swamp. - Yeah. - That to me is the difference in taking Miami. - Yes, Rico. - The stats point to Dave Napier's four and one against the spread and straight up as a home dog and 11 and two as a dog fewer than five points. With that said, Cam Ward is a game changer. I am buying into the fact that Florida's schedule is that difficult. I think Napier doesn't make it through Halloween. I think Miami has to have this game. I like Crystal Ball coming from Oregon. I know it's, Miami's different, Miami's different. I love Cam Ward and I'm taking Miami. - Why does Miami have to have this game? - More than Florida, for example. - And why do they have to have this game in general? It's a non-conference game. There's a 12 team playoff. They could win the, it's not an ACC game. If you win the ACC, you're a top four seed. - It's a good point. - It's a good point. - Both teams need the game. - Well, no, I think that Dan's saying they don't. - Neither of them. - They literally do not need to win the, if they want to go, if they want to get a top four seed. - They don't need to win the game. - They, this game means nothing. - It would be nice to have it. - Yes, of course they want to win the game. - I would disagree with that then, because this could come down, couldn't it? - There's out large bids. - Oh, yeah. - Yeah, so, I mean, this is Miami's rank. Miami's rank, this would be like a fall on your face type of spot. You're supposed to win this game. Like, yeah, both teams know about that. - I don't know, it's a two point spread. - It's a two point spread in Florida. - Okay. - You're just using cliches that don't fall on. - He's the cliché man. He gets going and he just says cliches that don't apply. I do think it's a big game and of course, it could mean a lot getting into the playoff, but that he's a cliché guy like, you know. - Again though, it could mean literally nothing because it's not an ACC game. If Miami wins all their ACC games and wins the ACC, there are top four seed no matter what. This game means nothing. I don't, I'm not saying they don't want to win it. They obviously do, but this game means nothing in terms of Miami getting into the playoff. - Well, again, if they don't win the ACC, right. - Well, they don't win the ACC, they're, I mean, they're probably working to get in, like if they lose two games in the ACC, they're not getting into playoff, whether they win this game or not. - Well, yeah, but what if they just lose the ACC championship? - Depends on how many losses they have, I guess. - Is it fair to say, crystal ball needs the game? - Uh, again, a little bit warmer. - No, I think it's, I think he's got to win the ACC. Like, of course, he wants to win this game. There's no doubt, but I think if Miami loses this game and then wins the ACC, like crystal ball's fine, nothing, this game didn't matter. I'm going to take Florida just simply again off vibes. I hate early season football because it's like, you don't know what these teams are, especially the transfer portal. I like Kim Ward, but I just think everyone's been shooting on Florida, everyone's been hyping up Miami, and you're going to Florida. I max effort, I'm taking Florida. Grandmertz, my guy. - And it is one of those things, I don't know, the portal is so early. I'm from the school, like, quarterbacks. I guess one total camp, like the more you're there, is it plug and play? You just get a new guy and you go, I don't know. I don't know, time will tell as the portal continues. - Yeah, I agree. The portal, it's hard to judge the portal this early in the season. It's a totally different game than what it used to be where it's like, oh, they built something. You know, you know what to expect. - We're turning starters, yeah. - Yeah. Okay, next game, Notre Dame at Texas A&M. Texas A&M is minus three. Rico. - I'm going to take Notre Dame. I think they got two really good defensive tackles. A&M was 94th in past blocking last year and returned three starters on that offensive line. So that same core is there. I think Notre Dame disrupts it. I'm going to take Notre Dame as hard as it is to go to Texas A&M. I'll take Notre Dame. - Wait, what was the first thing you said? - Notre Dame got two really good defensive tackles. - Got it. - That's true. - I think you said two, they're bringing back their offensive line A&M and you see as a down thing because they weren't good last year. They were 94th in past blocking and three of those guys are back. - See, I think that's good that they bring back they're starting linemen even if they weren't good last year. I would think they, you, they were 94th in past blocking. But, right. But I'd still rather have an intact. I don't care what they are. If they're intact, I think they'd be much better. - Yeah. I also like Elko. Yeah, I'm taking A&M as well. This is the same game as the Florida Miami game in my mind where it's like, I think they're gonna have a, Last year they fired my brains going last year is when is when jimbo got fired right correct So I think I think A&M will have a much better mindset coming into this game There was all the talk and I don't know I don't know the stats in front of me of how Well they did in the portal when Jimbo is there and paying I aren't aren't these guys still there don't they have a super talented roster Yeah, they do and Here's the here's why I'm taking text and it's partially because of what I was saying with Miami and Florida You have one team that's been getting getting hyped up one team is kind of being forgotten more than anything though Mike Elko is the coach text A&M His former quarterback is the quarterback at Notre Dame I he knows how how this guy plays like that's that's a I feel like that's a pretty big advantage for a good coach in Mike Elko knowing exactly what Riley Leonard is and what he can and can't do Especially in a tough tough environment. He's a good player. He's a good player. He's good But wouldn't you agree like I mean no one knows no one knows why the Riley Leonard better than Mike Elko Yeah, he's a good player and Mike and Mike Elko I actually like the hire for text A&M because they didn't go with the splashy hour They went with a good football coach the guy won games at Duke, which is really hard to do it possible Yeah All right last game. Yeah, I mean the guy before a hot cliff or whatever. It's pretty good there. Yeah Cuckliff Cuckliff Cuckliff Cuckliff Cuckliff Cuckliff Cuckliff Cuckliff Peyton Manning Whisperer. Yeah last game Sunday night Which I love that they gave us something on Sunday and Monday LSU at USC. This game is being played at Vegas USC is plus four and a half over under is 64 and a half I'm Hi, I'm sorry. I'm high on USC this year. I think getting rid of Alex Grinch I know he's now the badger safety coach is a huge plus that guy couldn't be a defensive coordinator He was bad everywhere. He went as defensive coordinator They got the guy from UCLA who UCLA had a great defense last year I think they're gonna be more sound they missed so many tackles last year They're not gonna do that this year and I just think this is a field goal game So I'm gonna take USC plus four and a half who are the quarterbacks in these teams? It's gonna be Miller Moss for USC and Nussmeyer for you at for LSU Miller Moss is the guy who came in He waited his turn. He came in the bowl game lit it up in the bowl game I I just never have a I'm never worried about a quarterback coach by Lincoln Riley That's the one thing the guy can do he coaches quarterbacks And then they it's tough to know who knows what those guys are doing the pros I'm gonna go because they put up video game numbers because that offense. I'm gonna go that's come on Relax Baker's had a pretty good career up and down Kyler Murray I want to say he's a good career To beat the town. I think there's some good quarterbacks that he's coached that are gonna be good pros I want to say either those guys just mentioned are like The franchise. Yeah, no, no, it's not the best quarterback. He's ever coached I'm gonna take USC in the over here Vegas points I agree with what you're saying Lincoln Riley always have points. They'll be ready to play I have known nothing about the LSU quarterback is I do think Daniels made big difference, but I'm you know, LSU is a talent factory So I'm gonna take you as seen the over LSU also does have two first round offensive lineman, so one of the best offensive lines in the country. Yeah, they got some big boys up front So I kind of you know what I'll add the over two cuz I think that would this will be like it's gonna be tough for USC to get negative plays Rico till I see the defenses. Yeah, I'm leading an over on this one as well over 64 and a half or okay 64 over 64 64 and a half 64 and a half Okay, let's Hey pick them listeners. That's b o m b a s calm slash audio code audio at checkout All right now back to the episode I already gave West Virginia plus eight Florida plus two and a half North Western minus three at home against Miami, Ohio uh I can't believe him put this on but Elio talked me into it Colorado state plus 32 against Texas taking that he he was Neaturing that Colorado state had guys who got offered money and didn't leave and stayed at Colorado state that resonates with me Uh you know that he watched a lot of Colorado state he was telling us last week. I watched a lot I watched a lot of Colorado state but then we dug into it and he he watched the Colorado Colorado state game I that I think what he was saying was that I don't know if he said guys got offered like 600 grand He doesn't leave he saw the same video as me and I will say in Elio's defense that video did Uh have a same effect on me. It was like two of their best players and they said they got offered 600 grand in the transfer portal But they're like why we came to Colorado state to to come to Colorado state. We're here. We're committed to the program Yeah, so that's good enough for me Colorado state. I got this is a team That I that is even gonna make me a lot of money or gonna lose a lot of money on this last year because I don't know why I've decided in my head and I decided this last year of the year before That I liked the Hawaii coach and I think he's bringing Hawaii back It's on the chain right Tommy Chang they were the worst football program ever before he arrived They hated the coach everyone transferred Tommy Chang's a Hawaii guy Loves a program getting guys to play so I'm taking Hawaii at home plus 14 against UCLA A&M might and I'm if Hawaii I'm gonna keep on betting on Hawaii FYI A&M minus three at home against Notre Dame gave that out Arizona minus 31 against New Mexico USC plus four over 64 and a half we gave that against USC And I don't think far as they losing was a fluke I like BC plus 15 and a half at far as state to keep that game close. You like the BC quarterback too, right Who's the BC quarterback? Well, isn't he oh, dude's like some never mind And I thought you liked him as well. I thought they had a bird. I don't know if he's still there actually You're thinking of Jerk of it. No, I'm not jerk of it. They had another kid that I felt like the guy who ran. Yeah, the kid who yeah, I don't know That's not why I took I know nothing about BC. That's an anti-flare state point. I do like I mean, I think O'Brien's a pretty good coach Yeah Rico all right, I got two plays that go together. I'm gonna buy the hype on Nebraska minus the 27 and a half against UTEP They have a UTEP they have a ton of all step to my crap. It's not UTEP It's basically Austin P the Austin P coach brought in a ton of transfers. They're an FCS team I think rule gets it going minus the 27 half with that said I'll take because Austin P got depleted I'll take Louisville minus the 36 and a half. I think they fucking run out of the building Sorry, Dan, but I'm gonna take western Michigan plus 23 because I just don't happy you we had a terrible season last year And I remember we won you said Wisconsin national champions. Yeah, so maybe I'm doing this might be the dumbest pick ever Yeah, it might be the first week. I don't take Wisconsin week one. I'm gonna take South Carolina over 37 and a half Wait, I want to hear your logic on Wisconsin. I just don't think they're as great as uh, I'll give you you the logic Because he picked them last year. He picked them last year Give me what he's like I don't want to take that was constant that that that is a window into his mind Wisconsin when the national title last year they lost a week one. They think let me reverse and do the opposite Give me Wisconsin this week, please. Dan. Did you or did you not say Wisconsin's probably in for a tough year this year That's not what I said. I said they're gonna be a better team But maybe not a better record because their schedule was really really tough. All right. This is not one of their tough schedule games They have to play Alabama. They play Oregon. They have to go to at USC. That's that's for a schedule. All right. Yeah, their schedule is very tough But I think they're gonna they're gonna look like a better team than they were last year I'll take Western Michigan. I'll roll the dice South Carolina over 37 and a half points O.D. You old dominion is 96th and returning production and they have a week off ends of line I think South Carolina goes up and down the field. Miami minus the two and a half A&M new Mexico over 58 and a half I think that's a track meet Okay, and I love how it sounds quarterback Okay, I am trying to do smaller cards this year So I have the five that I picked. I'm adding Houston UNLV over 54 so no thousands no thousands But is you an LV is gonna do it. You got to start you got to start hot. Well listen what everyone knows me by now I'm gonna give three picks right here. I'm gonna give four picks right here What happens on Saturday morning Between nine and eleven a.m. Central time. God only knows. That's a dream being God so We're going in with a good plan Everyone's got to plan till they get punched in the mouth Where you're gonna say Dave is UNLV's quarterback back I don't know I don't know either remember they were pretty good last year. Yeah, we got on them We were riding them for a while. - Yeah. - UNLV quarterback. Is it who is Doug Brumfield? - Yeah, it sounds familiar. - All right. - Lefty guy, Shifty, is that sound right? - No, no, no, no, no. - They brought in Matthew Sluka from Holy Cross as a transfer. - Thank you, Ebo. - Ebo is important here for that stuff. Okay, from Holy Cross. - Yeah, I think he had like 3,000 years passing - Yeah, that's interesting. - They don't have, you can't do my event. - So what I'm seeing is last year, they had a kid throw for 3,000. - Holy Cross, the UNLV's gotta be the wildest transfer possible. - Yes, from my Catholic school to Las Vegas. - To Tarcanian. - That's crazy. Good for him. - Yeah, I see this two days ago, UNLV's starting corebacks, they'll mystery. So obviously the kid did that, I'm thinking of his not back. - Yeah. Okay, here's my, so Houston, UNLV over 54. You tapped Nebraska over 49. New Mexico, Arizona, over 58 and a half. And I also am going to, 'cause you have to bet this game because it's the first game to kick off. Let me just update the, make sure I have the right line. It's gonna be Minnesota minus two and a half, maybe. I feel like Minnesota, again, I'm going a lot on vibes. They always play that first game on Thursday night and they always do well. And everyone's like, wow, Minnesota. Oh, Minnesota's plus two. - Dan, can I give you something real quick? - Yeah. - The kid Maya Vega threw for 3,000 yards last year for UNLV Dave, he is the backup at USC. He did not win the starting job. - Oh. - They're going with Miller Moss. - Did you say that? Did you say Hank, can I give you something? - No, I said Dan. - Oh. - No, you said Hank. - All right, I apologize. - That's okay. You can give something. - You don't have to apologize. You just didn't say-- - I thought I said Dan. - He's in the middle of his picks. - All right. All right, so that's my card as of right now. As of right now. Locks, finish it off. By the way, scheduling-- - All mortals, mortals. - Mortals, sorry, scheduling. Next week, we are all in person. So that'll be great. We also have an all in person show scheduled for a surviving week. And then Dave, I don't know what your football schedule is going to be this year, but maybe you'll be back once or twice in the fall. So we will try to get all in person as many times as we can. Hopefully like three or four times. Mortals. Should we start, let's start with Hank and we'll go around the room one with me, Dave and Rico. - My moral is Georgia, minus 13/2. - Love it, love it. - What's up? - Zupi. - Zupi. - Yeah, I'm going Georgia as well. Although-- - Ooh. - Zupi. - Me and the King. - Zupi won Bob Diacocho if you last year. - By, like, technicality and percentage points. - I didn't get a weak zero pick. So, and if we lost that weak zero pick, I would have won. - That's correct. - Yeah. - True. - So Georgia for Zupi, Jack. - I'm taking Bamma minus 32. - Bamma minus 32. - Ebo. - USC plus four. - Okay. - Bubba. - The LSU USC over Sunday night, 64 and a half. - Love it. - All right, my mortal is going to be, is it four hours if four and a half? Ebo, because that's my mortal as well. - It's down to four. - All right, so I'll take USC plus four, Rico. - I'm gonna take Oklahoma State minus nine and a half. They got South Dakota State coming in and FCS, juggernaut. But they got the entire old lineback, Olly Gordon's running, Bowman's a seven year quarterback, reliable on offense, and Gundy in his last couple of openers has been playing with fire. Central Arkansas, they won by 14. Central Michigan, they won by 14. Missouri State, they won by seven. Tulsa, they won by nine. Those are the last four going back. I think he stops fucking around. I think he shows them the tape of an SCS champion coming in or an FCS runner up, whatever they were coming in, they could upset him. I think Gundy gets the program right. Olly Gordon dominates in the trenches. Oklahoma State minus nine and a half. - It could be a close game. It could be a close game. - You're so good at giving stats. - They're hurt. - Yeah, it's unbelievable actually. - You're like so. - I'm showing my hand. I know what Gundy has done in openers. I am showing my hand that way. But I also think he gets them going and I love Olly Gordon. - Okay. - I'll say this, Rick, in defense of your pick, when Gundy said that, "Oh yeah, I've driven drunk "like a thousand times." Part of that press conference also, they're like, what's the penalty for Olly Gordon getting a DUI? He's like, "I'm just gonna run 'em more." - Right. So. - Yeah, I think it could be a close game and they get a field goal to make it to 10 in the fourth quarter and hold on. Like, I'll be okay. I think that's not the most encouraging description of the model. - That's worst case scenario. - They kick a field goal late to win by 10. Isn't the spread like seven or eight? - Nine and a half. - Nine? - So that's worst case scenario. I think you all must say when you're in the game by 14. - You all must say you win the game by 14. - That even, that doesn't make me feel that great about your winner. - Winner's the winner. - You're best. - That's the winner. - Good the whole car. - A whole mistake minus nine and a half. - It is a game that's gonna come down to the gun on a field goal. - Great. - Great. (laughing) - Bill Biter. - Go folks. - All right. - Dave, what's yours? - I'm gonna take North Western minus the three. It's Miami, Ohio. - Oh, can you do a different one? - It's your car. - Illinois, can bet it? - It's your car. - Mother fuck. It's Illinois, Virginia, New Jersey. - Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. - All right, I'll go Hawaii. Hawaii plus 14 is UCLA. Setting a ride Hawaii. I really want to do that Northwestern picked because Northwestern, I was dead wrong about them the beginning of last year, if you're calling that coach, really coached them up. And I think they covered like the last six or seven weeks. - Yeah. - I can't do it. So Hawaii, fine. - They're also Dave, remember not that it matters for the pick because we're gonna use Hawaii, but we have no idea what this fucking Northwestern home field's gonna look like this year. They're playing a rinky dink. They're playing on the practice field. - Yeah, I'm gonna bet it, I'm not Chicago, so I'll be betting it, but that's tough. - Yeah, you can, by the way, bet it in Illinois, if you go in person. So the Draft King Sports Book at Riggly, which I've gone a bunch, you can bet all Illinois colleges in person with cash. - That's great info. - So I'm gonna probably do that team. - I'm gonna probably bet it in cash. - So you could do, you could create your own, it won't be on the app, but you can create your own partly if you go in there. - Correct. - Good to know, good to know. - All right, boys, good show in person next week. Very excited. We're also just get excited 'cause Wednesday evening, we're gonna be doing a stream, which we still gotta figure out Dave, the number, but we're gonna be doing a stream that will hopefully be similar to the 41 free throws. So get ready to kick off football with us, and then we're gonna stream. All of us will be here for Thursday night, right? - Yeah. - For NFL, and then college football show, week two will be live in Ann Arbor to celebrate the national champions, going up against Texas. - That's gonna be great. - Conquering Heroes. - Same place, we always do it right across stadium. Best place we got, probably of any campus. So come out if you're in Ann Arbor, will be there. I think the show is at 10.30 local times. It should be a celebration of life, basically. Like it really, festive atmosphere in Ann Arbor. - Is there any chance any Marines will be showing up? - I haven't talked to him, but I'd welcome back with open arms. He, again, I'm saying Michigan needs to bring Connor Stallions back. He, that guy, nobody loves Michigan more than Connor Stallions, nobody. You're gonna watch the documentary, didn't you? - I know, he should be celebrated for what he did. - It's on my list, I've been so busy playing Monopoly and shit, with Jerry. I watched Stephen Nairdock on Monday. I didn't think it was great. Although I had no idea that there was like, I guess his death is a little more mysterious than people let on, so. - Yeah, I didn't watch that one. - How many, is it just one part, the Connor Stallions? - Yep, hour and a half. - Love it, I'm gonna watch it probably tomorrow. - Okay, thanks everyone, we'll see you next week. - All right. - Bye. - All right, see ya.
