#175 - Inspiration in Leadership (Seminar)

This transcription from a live morning seminar on inspiration, hosted by Helm Haasht, explores leadership and personal transformation. The speaker begins by urging listeners to apply insights rather than just absorb them, using a member’s commitment to shift from being a savior to a leader as an example. He outlines two problem levels: first, overcoming stress, overwhelm, and meaninglessness; second, moving beyond relief to expand freedom and achieve genuine desires. The core theme is inspiration—being called forward by something compelling rather than relying on willpower or duty. The speaker shares his personal journey from a dull, uninspired period in 2020 to a transformed life through a methodology involving "impossible games" and multi-dimensional visioning. This led to achievements like ocean sailing, motorcycle riding, and working with top mentors. Fee’s story reinforces this: after being discouraged from writing as a teenager, she reconnected with her inspiration, published fiction, and became an Amazon bestseller. Key takeaways include shifting from a savior identity (rescuing others) to a leader identity (empowering them), recognizing stress as optional, and creating visions that inspire action. The seminar invites participants to identify where they are saving instead of leading and to pursue what they truly want, fostering ongoing personal growth and results.

Hello and welcome back to "Wimming the Game" with Helm Haasht here. Today's episode is a recording from a live morning seminar on the topic of inspiration, one of the core themes in the journey of becoming a better leader. Enjoy. So I had a wonderful call with somebody who's in our membership group, lovely, lovely person. And we were having the conversation about how did she enjoy the conversation yesterday, yesterday morning. And she said, "Oh, it was great, and yeah, I recognized myself." And I said, "So I have a question for you. What is your intention for the week?" And she kind of looked at me a little puzzled and went, and I said, "Well, what I would love is that you take on to change an action or change a behavior as a result of what you've learned, not simply just absorb the information." And I went, "Yeah, you're right. That would be really cool if something actually shifted as a result of what we're sharing today and exploring, rather than just going, "Yeah, that's a good idea." So she really kind of took it on and said, "Okay, I'm going to take this on." And she was very excited to take it on and see what would shift and change. If she actually enacted what we talked about yesterday, which is, how can I be a leader and not a savior? And I thought that was really cool of them. We take something we learn, something we have an insight about, and we take it into the world, and we start to, and things start to shift around us because we take it on. Cool. So today's invitation for you all to listen to hear something beyond what you heard before. And if you heard the same content before, we can suddenly wake up to an insight about it. That can alter not only your week, but your future for a long time. I'm absolutely convinced that one insight can alter the experience of life for the rest of your life. Insights are very, very powerful. Now yesterday we shared four keywords. That's the keywords of the first part of the journey to being a leader in power. It's based on truth, thinking, time, and tools, and many of you are very familiar with some of the material behind us forwards. Now this week we're exploring the problems that occur once we had the first relief from stress and overwhelm. It sounds maybe weird. It's like I was stressed. I was overwhelmed. I was out of control and I wasn't present with my family. Now I am. And you're saying, now I'm getting new problems to work on? Absolutely. But more inspiring problems than searching for relief. The next set of problems have to do with how can I expand my experience on freedom now? And how can I achieve results that I truly want? That is my harsh desire, not only what I have obligations to do because I have a job to do. And this week and beyond, for instance, I spend every week, most days exploring identity. It's really the question, who am I? And there actually is valid responses to those that hold up. It's not an impossible question to answer at all. I'm really curious. Inspiration, how can we live not from motivation and willpower and duty, but actually be called forward by something that's truly inspiring? Speak more about that today. That's the word for today. Then how to take your inspiration and bring intention to it, to start moving towards results? It's these great ideas. I know many people are speaking for years about things they wish they want to do some way, but they don't find intention and actions. There is no progress. And then the influence that has on your life and the life of others or the impact it has. These are the four keywords for the year. Sorry, for this morning. And it's also what we work on for a year and longer in our year-long program. So, what are those problems I spoke about? Well, the first problems to solve on the journey for many people, not all, some are beyond them already, is that you are stressed more than you want. You are out of control. You know what to do, but you don't do it. So we end up working long hours, evenings, weekends, and you struggle a bit. Or you struggle more than you know you need to. And then it also is sense of meaninglessness. Like, is this all there is? Is this all it's going to be for the next five, ten years? Or simply the experience that must be better way to work than this. This is, it's not fulfilling where I am. And that's something we solved in the Accelerator Power Program. Just follow the program and do the job. You need to do the job. Then you have a shift in that. And that's why so many of you are here. The next level problem are interesting. Because you get relief on the first year, but you don't have full freedom yet. So you're unfree in the terms of, and yes, joining fees, you want to add something here. You don't dare to take on something new sometimes, because you're so afraid to fall back into the stress in overwhelming. I've been there. It's like so you're trying to control and play self, play safe, sorry, and that doesn't work well and isn't fulfilling. You don't know how to hold a vision alive. You set goals, but that's very, very different. You don't know how to connect to yourself and explore what's the next version of myself here as an identity in terms of a vision I live into. So that's not a problem to solve. I was woken up to this realization that wow, something else was possible for real. And people around me didn't relate to that at all. They were in the same old world. How many can relate to this type? Me in the chat. If you've had a shift and then it's hard to share with other people around you, whether it's in our program or some other things, they don't get you and you try it, but the just not meet resistance and this belief of them, right? So we won't go deeper into all these problems. The thing is those problems resolved open up not only for better results, but actually for a new version of yourself that I'd say you love more. I for sure love myself more now than five, six years ago. It's a remarkable difference. And I wasn't happy with myself before, but life comes this explorative journey of what's possible, what's possible, what's possible, and not only what's possible this week, but what's possible long term. 2020, but six years ago, I find myself in an interesting place. I've had a time of a number of years where I truly lived into a vision and I was very, very inspired on so many levels. I dreamed about having a big, yacht, a big sailing boat for years and I took that animal to fulfill that and I've been sailing for summers and lived on the boat and worked on the boat. I learned to handle the 40 foot foot all by myself in a kind of weather conditions. Super inspiring. Then I had a heavy year or two in the Domino balance. We call it family. I divorced 2014-15 and that of course had some life questions involved. And then out of the blue, I met Fee in 2016. We married. And from 2015-2016 onwards, I was truly living into a vision of a future, right? We were going to move to the same country where we're going to live together. He was going to move to Sweden, create some new profession for himself. You moved here 2018. Super inspiring, of course. My sons were moving into university. I was inspiring and I saw them progress and grew up and we started to look for our dream home, like for real. Not a good one, our dream home. Let me create this something that looked impossible. We made the wish list for everything by the sea, no garden, no fireplace, so on as all the stuff we could dream. In 2019, we moved into that home. I'll expect a little bit. We live here. It's just amazing. Corona hit. And 85% of the business was gone over 10 days. But a year later, we moved after that too. We survived. We did good work. The team was awesome. So 2020 and then something started to look a little bleak. I've had this progress, progress, progress, progress. And it just was kind of okay. A little dream started to occur between Fee and me because it wasn't so easy to work together as we thought. And being an entrepreneur in a small business was so different from the thousands of people you've been managing, leaving hospitals in different countries, right? And it wasn't terrible, but life got dull. It was not boring, but I was not inspired as a good way to say it. I was beautifully pushing on with the things I'd done in the post. And it wasn't fulfilling anymore. Then I came across a methodology where you looked at life in a multi-dimensional approach. I've always been studying and having mentors since 1980. when I discovered what commitment structure and support did to my life. So I had that sense. And I started to explore this notion of creating impossible games in my life. Games that were not truly impossible, but they looked kind of impossible for this version of myself. I wouldn't fulfill it. And I remember being on vacation in France with Fee in the Champagne district, lovely. And I was sitting by the pool there. I pulled up my computer and I was finally going to create a vision for my life. And I followed the instructions in the really detailed and I could tell great material because I've spoken to people who used it for years. And they life transformed again and again and again. It was hard. I couldn't figure it out. I was just in my head and I didn't understand the words. And I spent hours that vacation trying to formulate the vision. And only to notice that wow, this takes more work than I knew how to do. And I didn't have a mentor personally at a time. I did it by instruction on an online program and in my computer. And it didn't click. Somewhere along the line after 2020, it clicked. And since it's been this journey of every year being surprised as a good word actually, or what could get accomplished in the year. I don't reach all my visions and goals in all domains every year. But since my life is clearly taking leaps every year and I see results I couldn't expect. Nowadays, I know how to predictably sort out my identity, create a vision that's truly inspiring, not only motivating and then bring intention to that on a weekly basis. And results start to evolve and evolve and evolve and evolve. I could share so many things that happened over the few years from ocean sailing in Greece to taking motorcycle license, driving my decodium or to bike that I've thought of for 20 years. Staying on silent retreats for 10 days that I also thought of for 15 years. Traveling, working with mentors now that I did not work with three or four years ago. That are world leading in the field. There is a methodology to this. And everybody with a commitment to learn it can learn it. The first part of the year is also getting out of stress, overwhelmed, getting in control, stopping working outside work hours so much. And that's a relief that I wish everybody to get. Because being stressed is optional. I know that might sound provocative, but the experience of stress is optional. We have one of our clients now in the given program who said, I heard that statement online. The experience of stress is optional and it sounded unrealistic, but I knew. They've been side me that it's true. That's an individual who's highly successful in her field. Top level in this country, but working. I don't know how many hours on days when it was intense. Pulling all nighters, staying up, 40 minutes sleep, 30 minutes shower, and then off to work again when needed. And she heard. Stress is optional and got that experience just a few weeks in our program. She said it's really weird, I'm not stressed anymore. It's so weird. I've irritated sometimes. I'm frustrated on people. The experience of stress doesn't show up anymore. Stress is not a function of circumstance. Stress is the function of your thinking. And when you have the insight on how to relate to your thoughts when they are stressed. New more quality level thinking starts to occur. So she was quick and quicker than most, but that's available for people. And that relief is great. What opens up them is the possibility to create a future that is truly different than the past. Remember, that's what leadership is. Taking a stand for a future that inspires you if we speak about self-leadership. And that's the kind of challenge and wake up call for you this morning. Are you living with a stand for your own self-leadership? And for the leadership of others? Or are you being a savior? Not a leader. Are you being a rescuer and saver that's helping out all the time and playing small? But saver doesn't need to have big futures for themselves. Trust me, I explore the saver identity for so many years. And I know it's no fun. I've got some satisfaction from helping people, but it's not near the satisfaction you get. When you lead other people to show up as leader in their life. So. Fee, what would you say about the multi-dimensional approach to life and the impossible game? Thing for you when you took it on and then we'll speak a little bit more before we end today about that leader savior thing. And how you can take take what you learned these mornings into your life. But first fee, this inspiration domain. What's seemingly impossible becoming not only possible, but a reality? What have you learned about that last few years? Well, first of all, so much. So I was like most people every year in January, I would create my list of goals that I was going to achieve in whatever year. And like some people I achieved someone did not achieve a hell of a lot of them because it was really no inspiration. It was just an I should I should lose weight I should go to the gym. I should I should so a lot of I should in my life. And that's not inspiring. That's not even fun. It's just kind of like you're pushing yourself from behind the bill and or pushing a rock with your nose up to the top of the mountain. That's not fun. So let me tell you a story by inspiration because four years ago, well, I'm you and I were having a conversation in our kitchen. And the conversation went like this, I said you've changed in a good way. Yeah, he really had changed it a good way. Now he's always been great. He's always been gorgeous. I've always loved him. But he became kinder. He'd become more reflective, less reactive. And I noticed that and that was important for me as his wife, but also as a business partner. So I said, can I learn what you have learned and guess what I'm said. I said, I can watch those videos with you that you watch over Christmas or the days between Christmas. Now you don't need to see them. That's all good. I'll tell you if I see something that I think you'd be interested in. Not paternalistic at all going on here. Anyway, he changed his mind and I watched the videos. I got myself honestly. I got myself the same of am I stupid. I learned something that I feel shifted my life and feet says my wife and business and I shift and she said I want to be part of that and you go no I know better was best for you. So I came to say, of course, let's spend two days and watch those videos together and do some vision work because that was the start of your vision journey. This version. I was looking and I got for the first time in my life, not the shots went out the window. Like there was a big pile of shots at the bottom of our driveway and instead my heart was filled with inspiration. And that meant a lot to me because there were areas in my life that I had put down. I had closed down in my heart that I said, no, I'm not going to do that. But what the inspiration allowed me to do was reconnect with those dreams. Reconnect with my soul reconnected my heart reconnect with those desires that actually would bring me alive. I'll tell you a very short story when I was 14 years of age, my English teacher said, do you know what Fiona don't bother your terrible English don't write you're not funny. I was like, I'm not a big D in my phone. And I was like, oh, OK. And about a year later, I had been asked to write something in religious class. We did religion, religion class in Ireland. And I was called to the head non's office. Teaching right. Yeah, I showed up in my uniform a little bit, you know, wet under the armpits thinking, oh my god, what's happened here. So I had written this piece and she said, you could not have written this piece. She said, you're not holy enough or clever enough to have written this. And she tore it up in front of me. And I made a vow I would never write again. But actually to prove them wrong went on and I did two master's programs and I actually did a lot of academic writing in the end. And succeeded quite well enough in my heart. I wanted to write fiction. And what was really cool is when I took on this journey from an inspired place. Like in my heart, I let my heart open to it by the end. end of it was 2024 with him. By the end of 2024, I had eight stories, fiction stories published in a book that hit the Amazon number one. All that had happened was I allowed myself getting touched with my own inspiration and allowed that to flow through me. And it's not that it was an easier year or an easier year to do writing or anything like that. It was just, no, this is what I wanted to put into the world. And it may not be in the domain of leadership per se, but it is in the domain of self-leadership. What film I wanted, what brought me joy, what inspired me. And what is wonderful about it is I continue today. I had last week got word that I'm having two poems published in another compendium. And by the end of the year, I'm going to have another book written. And it's just what unleashes when we allow ourselves to be with our wanting, be with our inspiration, what we can unleash in the world. And whether that's taking care of people in Africa or whether that's driving an ambulance from, I don't know, from to Uganda, whether that is, you know, emigrating for your to Australia, whether it doesn't matter, it's your inspiration for you, your life, your way. Awesome. And if I told you six years ago that you're going to be Amazon number one bestseller, as part as it was in the anthology with the team of other writers, that's just it looked it would you would have said that that's impossible. It's an impossible game to play, right? It's absolutely impossible. And I would have taken you to the doctor because I thought you might have hit your head. Cool. The nice time for you to do some work in the chat here, everybody. First of all, what's present when Fin I share about struggles with that? Channagens we've had, problems we had. And then we share what became possible in terms of results, inspiration discoveries from some learnings we have. Just notice what's present for you right now, and type in the chat. What are you present to right now? We want all this to answer as always. Oh, inspiration, recognition, despair. Sometimes when you're other people evolving, you can get even more present to your own struggles, right? Some of you might think we're bragging. Some of you might think, oh, who did they think they are? It devotes all kinds of stuff when we're facing a bigger future than the one we're living into. The mentors I've had for years now, they are living in very different more powerful future than I'm able to, but choose to relate to it as some possibility for me, right? Cool. Two questions now or one reminder, one question. Yesterday we spoke about being a leader, not the savior, and either heard it for what it was, or you really heard it and you woke up to where in my life am I not leading? I'm saving and rescuing people too much. So, I invite you to look there because that's the start. The start of my vision journey was having the truth that I was no longer inspired. To admit to myself the problems and struggles I was living inside of 2020. And for you too, look at where are you not leading, but saving this week and shift that with even one person. And then the second invitation to you is to look at what you truly want for yourself. And you can look big picture, but I recommend also you as looking for today. If you were living from inspiration today, living from what you truly want at a higher level, what would you do today? Or this week that you otherwise wouldn't have stepped into, but would you start? Or what would you stop doing? So, typing a chat right now from pure inspiration. If you could do something this week from inspiration, what you want, what is one thing you could do? Or what's one thing you could stop doing? You won't go to these two meetings today because you don't see them valuable for anybody that you're there. What's inspiring for you today is weak that you would start doing and stop doing. Keep living in that question, what do I truly want? See you get in touch with some inspiration and then potentially choose when I do what. Thanks for listening and welcome back to the next episode.
