#170 Stop Hedging Your Bets: Focus on One Thing

The transcript from the Grantment Podcast emphasizes the critical importance of eliminating scattered energy to achieve one's highest destiny. The speaker argues that when mental and physical energy are dispersed across multiple pursuits, diminishing returns occur, unlike the extreme focus of top performers like Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, or Elon Musk, who concentrate their forces to dominate their fields. Success—whether in business, relationships, or personal growth—attracts certainty, while uncertainty repels it. The speaker uses an analogy of a shower losing hot water when other taps are turned on to illustrate how dispersed energy weakens outcomes. To concentrate energy, one must first identify where they are hedging their bets, as this signals a lack of confidence to the world. Decisions should be made from a state of wholeness, not fear or lack, by pausing and recentering. The speaker advises doubling down on natural strengths and eliminating ventures that do not serve one's highest purpose, as seen in Warren Buffett's simple, focused approach. Finally, an affirmation is provided to reinforce daily focus and certainty: "I am concentrating my forces. I move each day in a state of certainty and wholeness. I am removing my energy from anything that doesn't align with my highest version self or my destiny." This practice helps eliminate reactive behavior and attract success.

Hey everyone, welcome back to the Grantment Podcast, episode number 170. In this episode, I'm going to be breaking down the elimination of scattered energy and why it's so essential for us to concentrate our forces so we can achieve our highest destiny and accomplish what we want. When your mind and energy are in multiple places, you do not have a direct flowing current. What's interesting is when you spend multiple amounts of energy on multiple things, you don't actually have an equal allocation across the board. You actually start to get diminishing returns. The thing is, we think about this in terms of performance in any sport, business, or skill. There's a massive difference between what the top 1% in the field does versus the top 25. And it's not incremental. It's usually such a magnitude of difference of performance that the top 1% if not higher out produces more than 80% of the entire field themselves. Think about when Tiger Woods was the best golfer in the world and he would never enter a tournament unless he knew that he was going to win. Or think about LeBron James or Michael Jordan. In their peaks, they were so good that they completely changed the dynamic of the game. When you look at Elon Musk, we all are closer to being the second richest person in the world than the second richest person in the world compared to Elon Musk. The best of the best are extremely focused. And I Musk, if I said I was reading it recently, he goes, "He hates taking vacations because every time he's taken a vacation, something bad has happened. He got fired as CEO at PayPal when he was on his honeymoon. He got sick when he was in Africa at some point. So he basically has committed to a complete life of working." So the most successful people are dialed in with what they want. We can apply this method to anything. And what's so interesting about the world is success, abundance, sustenance, financial success, and incredible flourishing relationships and friendships come from certainty. Certainty actually attracts those things to us. Have you ever been with a friend or maybe had an employee or some situation you're dealing with another person? And then suddenly, let's say you have one shower on, you have the water on hot. And it's falling on you, it's great, it feels amazing. But someone turns on the other shower and the sink in the kitchen. What happens to the water? Does it stay as hot as you had it or does it suddenly get cold? It's cold. Why did the water get cold? Because other people started using it. There was dispersed energy. So when you have that friend that used to see every day and then suddenly they're distracted or they went and got a girlfriend or boyfriend, now they don't want anything to do with you, or that employee was so focused and now their volume and effort has just taint. Does that make you certain that they're the right person for your business? Of course not. Who do you want to invest in? Who do you want to promote? The person on your team that delivers and solves problems before you even think about. Where you can go to sleep, sleep like a baby and know that that person's not only going to be on time, but they're going to execute. Let's say that everyone listening had a million dollars to deploy right now and you had to find a financial advisor to invest in. And there was two different ones. It was down to these two. And one of them, the second you have a question or you reach out, they reply within a two, three minutes. Even though they have all these clients, they immediately reply. The other person takes six, seven, eight hours to get a response. And by the time they reply, you Google did or asked AI or whatever the kids may be. Where do you want to put your money? But the guy that's going to reply in three minutes. Why? Because that person has dialed it. With whatever we want to accomplish in life. The first thing that we have to do is pull our energy and focus away from people, things, environments, and potential ventures that don't give us the highest return or serve our highest purpose. Now, there's a couple of ways to tell if someone, someone, something, whatever the case may be is for your higher purpose or not. And timing is everything. So there's not a one-off situation. You could have a great employee that's distracted now but locks in and 2x is not our center. The first thing is noticing how your body feels around these people or around the things that you're working on. When you are doing what you are truly called to do, it's going to feel natural. You're still going to have problems. You're still going to have to fire people. You're still going to deal with some negativity. But more times than not, it's going to feel natural. Think about all the sports. We've all played sports, I think, and I would say most of us have played some type of sports in our life. And certain ones are bodies naturally responded to. Hey, for me, I was great at golf, I was great at football, baseball, I was okay, basketball was never great. And tennis, like something doesn't work on me. Like I just can't play tennis. Okay, certain people are better at certain things. And the key is to double down in those areas. If you're fantastic with your words and your confidence, then sales or entrepreneurship is probably great for you. If you're behind the scenes, engineer and technical and very detailed type person, then be in an engineer or project manager or someone in finance might be great for you. You have to do what is natural and eliminate all of the ventures and ideas and potential things that you can do and just focus on the one thing. Think about Warren Buffett, how simple his operation is and how few decisions he really ever makes in a day. But all he focuses on is what he's good at. And all great entrepreneurs, husbands, wives, friends, when they're with, who they're with, they are present. They're not on their phone, they're not replying to emails. They focus on what they're doing. I've met a few successful politicians over the last two or three years of both sides of the aisle. And one of the things I noticed, whether I agreed or disagreed with them, because I like to just see things as they are. And don't go into any situation going, why they do this, why that doesn't matter, right? I just want to meet them and see, why are they great? Why are they elected? Why are they running a state? And every single time on both sides of the aisle, when I met them within 60 seconds to two minutes, I go, no one did they got elected. I just saw a clip of a former president and his wife that ran for president. And the body language was so different between the two. The former president was waving at everyone, was saying hello, was taking pictures with people, was smiling ear to ear, was so excited to talk to people. And his wife, who lost, looked like she didn't want to be there. She didn't want to talk to these people. She wanted to go do her thing. And that's something small, but one became president and one didn't. Why? The other person that didn't want to do those little things, while it meant it seemed small, their own vacation, their retirement. It doesn't matter, right? The former president, whether you agree or didn't agree, doesn't matter, it's beside the point, was engaging with everyone naturally, because that's who he was. And so it's the little things that matter. People can feel when you actually care. They can truly feel. They can feel it when you're present. They can feel it when you're looking in the eye and you actually care what they're saying. That is when a relationship flourishes. That's when a relationship grows and becomes more successful in any single capacity. And so I want you to start now. I'm going to give you guys kind of a step by step on how to stop dispersing your energy and concentrating it. But I want you to think about it right now. First question, where are you hedging right now? When you hedge your bets, you are telling the universe, you're telling the world that you are not confident in what you do. And what's so interesting, humans are so smart and they can pick up and feel energy just like animals can. The world can feel when you're second guessing yourself and you could say the exact same lines you could wear, suit, you could be smooth as can be. But you can tell when someone is not all in. And this affects who works for you, who invest in you, who buys from you, what people say about you when you're not there. And this is why we've all had this experience. You've met someone and you're like, damn, yeah, they're going to make it. You didn't respond to that based on anything other than their certainty. They didn't hesitate, they didn't overcompensate. They knew that they were going to do it. And that is the difference, the world responds to certainty. So, if you are trying to accomplish anything, you're trying to grow relationships, you're trying to do something new, maybe lose weight, bulk up, meditate, go on a spiritual journey, build a successful business, whatever that is. Where are you hedging your bets around this goal? Remove it and go all out. Okay, the second thing is, are you making decisions in a state of lack, in fear, or certainty? This is so important. And I would actually make a rule, it's something I've been really, really working on personally, to never make a reactive or flustered decision in a state of fear. And if you do, because we're all going to have these moments of doubts, of insecurity, of worry, whatever the case may be, put in a simple process that the second you feel that you go pause, you go, I'm thankful for this moment. This is a gift, this is amazing. And just stop. Almost like all the energy is coming at you and you just, you put a shield to it, you resist it. The second you do this, you now are recentering yourself to operate from wholeness. This is being so confident in who you are, your vision, that you don't need anything or anybody to make you feel whole. And if we look at this from a spiritual level, even just logically, if you have to have something in order to be confident, the only way to actually build true confidence is for you to not get that thing. It's for it to be removed. So you're broken down and you have to build up your confidence from who you are and set a utilizing a crutch from someone else. It's almost impossible to truly be able to handle and hold something that we need. That's why when you see the most successful in anything, yeah, they wanted it, but it kind of just made sense. They weren't losing their minds when they got it, they were ready. They were prepared. It might have looked like this big dream when they were nothing, but when they became who they needed to become and they accomplished it, they just operated. They handled the role. They handled the position. Life is about becoming who you need to become in order to handle and receive what already exists. And we can go through this process through stress, loss, and any capacity. Some people experience death around them, sickness, loss of money, wealth, friendships, relationships, because that is a force to allow us to change and grow so we can receive our highest lesson. But we don't have to go through all that. We can choose to eliminate the reactive and needy and fearful behavior and start pausing and operating and making decisions from a place of wholeness. In the second, you start doing this and you're certain. It's the most beautiful thing in history. People will start calling. Emails will start being sent. You'll run into someone and all of a sudden, it's almost as if the world starts reorganizing. In your favor. To help you reach this destiny. We have to be careful what we allow in our minds. And this is why the right people, the right content, you listen to something positive and that's fantastic, right? This is priming your brain. It's teaching you what to believe and who you're going to become slowly but surely it's shaping your subconscious mind. Okay. Number three. Where can you double down? What can you do right now? What vision? What goal can you focus on right now? That if you double down and put all of your energy focused towards this thing, could it bring compounding and unbelievable results that you can't even imagine? Okay. Sometimes, you know, whether it's a business, whether it's content, whether it's cold calling, whether it's connecting with these certain types of people or investing in yourself, doesn't give 20% returns. It gets 100,000 x returns that alter the course of your life and family's life. Where can you stop hedging your bets and double down? We all know this. We all can find out. And when we do this, it'll alter the course of your life, right? So I want to leave you with an affirmation and write this down. If you need to rewind it, pause it, whatever, that's fine. And the key is to utilize this affirmation when you wake up, when you go to sleep and at any moment of lack, fear or uncertainty. Remember I talked about the pause and gaining back your energy. This is a great time to pull out your phone or memorize this and say it and say it in a state of certainty. Because slowly but surely, what do we do when we do this? We've not only eliminated that reactive behavior, but we're then re making a decision in a state of wholeness. So I am concentrating my forces. I move each day in a state of certainty and wholeness. I am removing my energy from anything that doesn't align with my highest version self or my destiny. Okay, so I'll say it one more time. I am concentrating my forces. I am removing my energy from anything that does not align with my destiny, right? So I hope you guys enjoyed this podcast.
