Hey hello, very welcome to another episode of my podcast. My name is Grenzke Mennen and I help you to live your full potential. Because we all have so much potential in us and at the same time we are also so scared often because we feel the potential to live. But it is so sad to let it pass us, that we let life pass by and then let our potential in the box. And that's why I am here, I have that podcast, I have my company. I coach one-on-one, I have my online programs and even have group coaching. Because I really like the strength of the group, of being able to lift each other up. And yes, there is a lot of beauty in being in a group and the one person coaching on a question and then the rest goes along because there is also a high awareness of self-reflection. So yes, and that's what I do in a very short time, but of course today there is also a podcast ready for you with a very nice subject. And of course you already have it in the title again. So of course it is never more such a surprise than I say it once. But anyway, let's get to it as a surprise because the subject today is "I live according to the rules, but my heart wants freedom." Yes, and yes, I even feel almost silent about this subject. This is really the essence of what I want to help people with. Because we are, and I also say that, we have all stumbled way too much into sleep. Because we are all actually, well, many people, and I say that you are that. If you listen to this podcast, you think that it's just the fact that you think, "No, I don't want to be so late, I want to change something." You may not know how, but you have at least decided that you are looking for it. But it is such a shame to change the rules according to your life, while your heart just says to you, "Listen to me." What you are now doing is that maybe it's okay for a moment, that it serves you somewhere, but for the long term, "Aa, a dike no go." We are not going to do this. Because we did not come up with the rules to think that we should. Better said, how others think that it should be. But how you yourself think that it is possible and can. And shouldn't be, because of course it all doesn't have to be. And we do have to let some rules loose. Because if you continue to live according to the rules, according to general rules, then you will not be able to break through the walls very quickly, which you should break through, to live according to the potential. Because the general rules in life, and with the rules, you can always take out the card and say, "What are the rules?" But those are the general things that do the most. For example, 9 to 5 lines. And if your heart tells you, "Listen, I don't want to work from 9 to 5 days for the rest of my life." "I want something different. I want more dynamic. I want more freedom in the choice." "I want more entrepreneurship. I want more self-discipline." "I want my pure essence, my little piece that is in me." "What do I want to let shine? What do I want to show? What do I want?" Then you have those rules, and with those rules I mean, among other rules, where we sometimes just go along with a kind of clacking. Because everyone does it. Then you do have to break through those rules. And I think that if you listen to my podcast more, it is now more clear that that is where I help people and also help them. Because that is where it is often put in. That you are allowed to do it differently. Because if you do it differently, there is often more to look at than just doing it differently. Because on the outside, someone who doesn't know you, might think, "Maybe I live here." But at the same time, if you are inside yourself, you think, "Oh, yeah, but I reflected on myself for example, when I stopped being a trend watcher." After my first education, I started looking for a job. I just didn't do it. My first reaction was, "I'm going as far away as possible in this world, so that I don't feel that I have to do obligations for the search of a job." So I left Australia. I had no idea what I was going to do there. And then finally, I went with Backpack, but a friend of mine, who I was, she also said very quickly, "What do you do here in Backpack?" Because I had my fashionable outfit on, all nice. And then I turned that grey-green-green-green-backpack on. We laughed a lot, but in the end, she just went on a trip to New Zealand, to see the nature. The first three months I was in Australia, I was in Sydney, went to all the meet-ups, business meet-ups. I found a workplace where all other start-up entrepreneurs were. And I still didn't know exactly what I was going to do, but the only thing I knew was that I wanted to work for myself. And I also had a lot of interest after that whole four-year education, to make something out of it. And I did know that I was writing this, and I also found the fashion and the beauty industry interesting. And of course I knew that I was a trend watcher, and now I also had my diploma for that. But I thought, in any case, after my education, I also found it interesting that I was inspired by the idea and now is the next step. So now I thought, I'm not going to look for a job, not to start, not to do any experience, and not to put something on my CV at all, where people say, well, you can put that on your CV. So I thought, I'm out of it. So I literally had the first flight ticket, after my diploma, which was the cheapest of that week. I was booked, and I was gone. And yes, first with the idea that I was going to stay in Australia for a while, actually with the idea that I probably couldn't come back anymore, but that didn't happen. I was also lucky. Well, if I had stayed, of course I would have wanted that. But I'm also very happy that I came back after that. Because that just brought me a lot and gave me. So yes, you never know how life has changed. I have actually been in Australia for seven months. From the first three months, which I have been very busy with. I want to put up my own business. I am also really going to add people on LinkedIn. Trendwatches from Sydney. But then I will talk to them. And I started to realize that it is already a whole challenge to be a trend watcher, as a solo trend watcher. So not as a company, but as a real entrepreneur. Just to do my job there. And secondly, to do it in a different country. Of course, I don't have a specific line for it. So maybe a person who tells me about it. But I don't know. I also think that it is probably still easy in the Netherlands because you have a big network. Because you know more about how the culture works. How we work together. Well, at least after the first three months in Australia, which I had already told you about, at some point I was going to travel a lot. Because I thought, yes, no, it is still... For now, at some point I have already seen and seen what I wanted to get out of it. And after that I have been in Melbourne for a few months. I came to the point that I went back. But then I came back. And then there was still no hair on my head that I would think about working in a company. In any case, not like you are looking for a job and then you are going to do the big people's job. So I am just doing all the additional jobs to get the basis of the income. And besides that, I am only going to work on the construction of how the company works at all. And that is all about coming back to my point of why I am telling this. It also has to do with the courage to choose what you want in life. Because I came from a family, I did not come from an entrepreneur's family. So it was a different choice than what my parents had expected from before. So it is except the choices to make what I want to do. It can also be that you have to break through the walls in a certain way. I am not saying that I have to go through a very high wall. But yes, that may just mean good things, but other expectations. And because then others can also do it yourself. So there is a lot to look at. And what I also had afterwards when I completely stopped working with trend watch, I thought yes. I did have an education of four years and five years worked at my own company. And then I decided to stop now. My decision was fixed, but then it went through my head that it really feels as if we had gone through time. So those are all feelings that can be a rule for yourself. Because I studied this. So I have to do something with it here, for example. And it is expected that I will, for example, attach to it, but I actually do not want to attach to it at all. And because of those sort of rules, because that has to do with the standard rules, because they do not filter out, they also see what the rules are, or maybe they think that I should do it. And what is it that I would like to do to attach it to each other. And then see what it is necessary to break through those rules. Because it is also not that every strategy works for everyone the same. Because you could sometimes say, for example, is that something that fits me? I actually think so. You know the "Burn your boats" term. So you go to an island, burn your boats, and then you just know that you can't go back, so you have to. And I am very good, always been. Throw away my old shoes before I was new. Despite the fact that the advice was often to find new shoes first. But for me, there was also a part of me that said if I am ready, then they are really old. And then it is also, I say now that it is always the best, but then I just want to throw away. But for some people, that strategy is not at all, because if you say "Burn your boats", you can also come in some kind of freezing mode, or the bridge where you actually have to go, it is still too big, so then you finally have a boat more, and you are there to look forward to how and now. So everyone also has their own strategy and what fits for that person, to let go of those rules. And therefore really be able to follow what the heart actually wants. That is of course where it is going today. And to feel that freedom, who wants to feel the heart. And what does freedom mean to you? I can actually go through this podcast endlessly with the question to make you aware of this, but of course it is a question of course. My heart wants freedom, but I live according to the rules. How are you going to do this? And there are just a few steps that can be taken into this, but I think that the first thing is the awareness of the rules at all, and of course also the awareness of freedom. What does that mean to you? Yes, there are just so many beautiful ways. For example, yes, Mindful Dreams program is now in week 9, and on Friday it will be published last week, on week 10. And the Mindful Dreams program also goes very seriously about what is in yourself for your Mindful Dreams life, but freedom, I know for sure, that it is a part of it for many participants. Well, maybe it's just a very big part of it. What is it that you feel again? I am in the lead, I decide. This is also what freedom is, so that you can make the choices in your life. And that you also dare to do things, to make sure that there is fear, doubt, concern, but that you dare to do it. And that is also a part of freedom, to dare to go over that threshold, where you first think it's way too high, and then after that you still dare to take that step. So that you create your freedom in that way. And as all, all, all, all, all most important, give an answer to the wishes of your heart. Because when you negate your heart, the fire will be extinguished. The more the fire is extinguished, the more difficult it is to get it back. The more difficult it is to see it burn. So the more the fire is extinguished, the less you are still in contact with what those wishes are now burning. And then there is also the question of the fire extinguishing. And the more the fire is extinguished again, and the more the fire is burning down, and then exactly the right size, also not that it burns everything off, because at the same time you have to be able to refer to the Chinese Chinese, that I studied. It doesn't have to be too big, it has to be exactly the right flame, so that you are completely in contact, completely passionate about it, but also not everything to burn you, the costs of the fire being able to only burn at that moment. I don't know if it makes sense, but just going back to the Chinese Chinese could mean, for example, that sometimes you can just take a little rest, that you need. If you have done that, then you can go there. You can go further with the life of the fire. But that rest, and then we call that water, and the Chinese Chinese can, is necessary, and it also controls each other. So too much water makes sure that the fire is extinguished, but too much fire makes sure that the water is extinguished. And that makes it the balance that you can still find with each other. But we are in a room again, and I hope that this will allow some fire to be extinguished, so that you feel, oh yeah, my heart wants freedom, and that you also feel the call from your heart, that I want freedom. And you also know, you don't have to know exactly how to do it. It is a work of step by step, and you can also do it step by step. So you also feel that time, and love for yourself, because it can also be a growth phase. I am happy that you were there again, that you listened again, that you came here with me to the end of this episode. Let me know if you want to know something, even if you have questions. I don't say it that often, but if you also have a specific question to handle in my podcast, of course, you can always let me know. And yes, I'll take that with me.
