The hosts of The Read celebrate their 13th anniversary in Atlanta with a lively, unapologetic discussion on Black excellence, culture, and accountability. They spotlight controversies involving public figures like Gloria Hallelujah and Meg, criticizing their online behavior, emotional betrayal, and lack of accountability, especially in the context of personal relationships and public image. The segment also dives into a critical examination of Snoop Dogg’s performance featuring a five-year-old dancer, calling it inappropriate and highlighting broader concerns about parental responsibility and cultural norms in entertainment. Additionally, the conversation touches on deeper social issues, including child development, the impact of parental behavior on mental health, and the need for emotional maturity in relationships. The hosts also engage with audience questions, such as a friend’s conflict with a partner’s abusive behavior and a financial dispute over shared travel expenses, emphasizing honesty, boundaries, and personal integrity. The episode blends humor, sharp social commentary, and personal stories to explore the intersection of identity, power, and accountability in modern Black life. While ridiculing certain celebrity stunts and internet culture, the hosts reaffirm their commitment to truth, resilience, and community-driven values. The show concludes with a celebration of its legacy, acknowledging its impact on fans over 13 years and inviting continued dialogue on Black empowerment and self-awareness.
[MUSIC] >> Look at y'all. Hello. Thank you so much. [APPLAUSE] >> Hey, slurs. [LAUGHTER] >> Well, welcome to the 13th anniversary of the read. We are live in Atlanta, Georgia. So excited to spend an evening with y'all having a good old black ass time. [APPLAUSE] >> Thank you. >> You're welcome. >> Thank you. >> You're welcome. >> You're welcome. >> You're welcome. >> They're being testing. There she is. First, I'd like to introduce myself. I am Neo Sha-King of Girl Group Cherish. [LAUGHTER] >> And I am Coretta Scott-King. [APPLAUSE] >> Thank you for joining us here tonight. We are so excited to have y'all. >> Yes, so first of all, you guys know that we start with black excellence. >> We can. >> Black excellence. [LAUGHTER] >> Tonight, black excellence is Atlanta. [APPLAUSE] >> From your groundbreaking-- >> Above Ground Railroad. >> Well, they're playing in the ring. >> They finna swap it out. They finna. >> They have a little bit of playing in it. >> Listen, I am yet a professional and I'm doing the best. And I'm loud. [LAUGHTER] >> From your groundbreaking above ground railroads to the black mecha that you are today. [APPLAUSE] >> Your black arts, your black businesses, your black legislators. >> Yes. >> Your black ass food. [APPLAUSE] >> This is an excellent black town and you should be proud of yourselves. >> Amen. Amen. Always have a good time in Atlanta. I did not know Bruno Mars was here this weekend, child. Oh, wait. That traffic was disgusting. >> Bruno Mars? >> Yes. And I know how you feel about him so we don't even have to go there. >> To wait. Does he have new music out right now? >> He was. >> Yeah. He put an album out like a month or two ago. >> Look at you. >> My algorithm is algorithmic. She knew I didn't care. Listen. [LAUGHTER] All right, let's get into some festivities. You guys already know how this shit go, don't you? >> Yes. >> Yes. >> Let's start with our hot tops of the week. What are we going to do about this Clay Thompson issue? [APPLAUSE] >> Oh, they're pissed. He's not here. >> He's not here. Right. I actually, I think we should save her for the very end of the show. >> [APPLAUSE] >> I think. >> Say less. >> Because that bitch got the cussing out of a lifetime. And let me just say I have seen y'all, okay, online. With your TikToks against the grams, y'all have been going in. But you know we're going to have to tear that ass up. So let's just give it a minute. [LAUGHTER] Because I know I'm a wait, I'm a wait. But y'all know I've been pissed. But I'm a wait. But I'm a wait. >> I say we just mace her. All right, all right. We're saving it. >> Right, we're going to wait. We're going to wait. >> So what I will do is I will switch, I will jump over to what would have been my transition. And I would like to say, to Gloria, hallelujah, Sam Wills, or whatever the fuck her last name is. Keep it cute, niece, and keep your eyes. Get on the Lord. >> Yeah. >> Your name is Gloria, hallelujah. How are you so far away from God? >> I still want to know exactly what happened. But I'm telling you, every time some new shit come out, I just look at her more and more sideways. Like, I really don't get it. And I feel like your man was just doing an interview after the game, talking about he got to go to bed to get away from you annoying ass. And maybe you should be more worried about that than putting these shady ass little emojis that shit on Instagram stories. Like, you got your own issues. So maybe just worry about yourself, your stud ass, sister hopping on live. Every other business day trying to squeeze an extra 15 minutes of fame out of that whole fucking situation. But Daddy is lightsaying on, like, you know, pick a struggle in your own fucking life. Now, I don't like all this coming. Like, that's already my girl. You know how I feel about Meg, I'm very protective. I care a lot because she's been through too much and she don't deserve the bullshit she keep getting. So like, why are you a bitch who is allegedly happy and got your own shit going on? Even worried about being online, being shady and messy, important salt in the goddamn wound, I grow the fuck up bitch. See, what is it really, Gloria? What is it? I couldn't agree more. I could not agree more. When I saw those little emojis or whatever, two things came to mind. Exactly what you just said. At this point, you got to evolve that shade into a full read, sit with both of your titties and let us know what the fuck is going on because you look crazy. This black woman says, "Shit to you." And every opportunity you get to throw some jabs that way you take it. Second thing. Just what you said about this thing is interviews. Like, simultaneously you got a new song out with a lot of pregnancy too or whatever the album is. On the song, talking about first of all, she said something her stud sister. You just a stud that's laced or something? No, you know I did not press play on this song. Another thing that she said on the verse really was the only portion of the song that stuck out to me or her part of the song. Is what she said something like, "I'm gonna give a brand in the sun next time he leave it in." Yuck. First of all, incredibly graphic. Please don't. Furthermore, the way that God works, so you sit up here with another basketball player. We don't even know who this bitch is. I damn sure don't. I have no room, no opportunity to believe in y'all. I don't believe in none of these niggas. So you doing all this when you are just around fuck nigga Boulevard? It's crazy to me. And you talking about you want to have this nigga's son? Like that's up to you. Right. You been to pay for that? Because you got to pay a lot of money for that. Otherwise, girl, it's kind of look at a draw. But yeah, we supposed to act like that nigga not probably also cheating on you. Like, he literally just told the whole world that he go to bed to not hear your mouth. You think he not at these role games, fucking on whatever he wants to, whatever? I'm not even going. I want to know what it is that Meg did other than put you on. Brought you on tour. Gave your career a boost. And I saying you was a flapper nothing because glow got plenty of songs that I like. But she didn't, as far as we know, she didn't do nothing but help you out. She didn't do nothing but be a girl's girl. So what is it that she did? So terrible that you been sending little shots and being a messy ass bitch online for months? What is it? 'Cause it doesn't make a sense. I don't know them. So I'm not going to make any assumptions about anything but I agree. It gets to a point where you just go ahead and hit medium.com, up bitch or whatever. And just go and write your essay. Slipstack. Right. 'Cause all of this random shenanigans laughing emoji. So I'm like, oh, she must be dating like Colin Pat. Like she must be like this nigga must be. And you know. Gloria Hallelujah. Not acting right. So the girls are saying that this ice-spice McDonald's thing is a stunt. A stunt. A stunt. Stunt. Stunt. Like. publicity stunt. Because she has a new deal with Wendy's. Wait. It took me a minute. Yeah. I'm like, why the fuck would you, um, is it, uh, but, uh, I, I probably would not have, I think I would have came up with a better idea than that to promote a junior bacon cheeseburger. Like, I think I would have, why would I have some bitch walk up on me and then smack me across the table and be like, hey, y'all. You know. When she does called Meg for them deal pickles, them deal pickle chick. They had nickel back in a commercial and shot Avengers endgame. Why would I get jumped at McDonald's to sell you a chicken sandwich?
It's really not making sense. I don't think so. Who said that? Not I-spice? No, of course not. Just the internet. Because she afterwards, I think maybe she worked at a Wendy's at one point before she was famous, but she also said afterwards, like she posted a clip from the fight and said, this would have never happened at Wendy's. Like, that was a joke. That's funny. I mean, but also, yes, the fucking would have. It just depends on which Wendy's. Thank you. That's all I thought of while you was like, yeah, actually. At that location, you will get your ass beat. So, here goes Wendy's tweet. Wendy's tweet. This would happen in Wendy's. Oh, with a chain. So, it's I-spice titties, and she has a chain that says, I-spicy. All right, that's-- They're trying. No, that's wack. Nobody who works at Wendy's can afford that fucking chain. That's not happening at Wendy's. I see a thing. I did see paparazzi pictures of her, though, walking on the street in New York with security. And I said, yeah, well, I guess it only take one time. It really only take one time for you to be like, you know what? Let me hire a big nigga to walk around with me. Because, yeah, not doing this should again. You should have been pseed when you were in California. Yeah. You should have had the armed guards when you was out in the city you not from. Right. But, you know, I guess the girls have to learn. But, yeah, saying that it was a publicity stunt that a random bitch smacked me in my face. I mean, don't know it's because I want to sell a burger is. God, can women just walk outside and open their eyes with a-- But Wendy's posting about her don't mean she got a deal. That's just-- all right, niggas just be saying shit. You're so right. Discus just be them. Wendy's post all kind of shit. It's an intern. I doubt it. But whoever it is, they just be coming up with shit. They want likes. They just like everybody else. Did you see this video of Snoop Dogg performing with a child up on stage where I was a stripper in a bat? Don't worry. I'll catch you up. OK. Immediately I don't like this. So, one Snoop Doggie dog was performing on Monday, April 20th at Red Rocks, amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado, couldn't point to it. Of course, because Snoop Dogg is Snoop Dogg, even though this thing is what, 82? He had a stripper in a bag. I wanna know a little portable stripper pose. And then at some point-- and I mean, this lady is getting her money. She's working out. And I support the naked hustle. So what the issue was that Snoop Dogg allowed a young girl who looked like all of five. Oh, no. Up on this stage to dance alongside him with the stripper bitch in the background. So, even without the stripper, why is a five-year-old girl on stage with Snoop? Why is a five-year-old girl on stage with Snoop? Why is-- he got like some graces corner songs. He got some songs for little young niggas. He does, doesn't he? Yeah. So what's she doing? What's she performing? I don't know with a stripper in a bag. That's what I was saying. Was it age appropriate at all? Oh, no, there was a stripper on stage. I mean, you might have just had a stripper get down anything, really. You got a trap blu-y of something. She's like, I can make some shit work. But-- I see it. You know, Snoop not really in his right mind. That nigga been gone. He lost. I'm not giving this bitch that excuse. How dare you-- no, let's say it. He said, under fire. Oh, is the blackest thumb down emoji. Her father let her get on stage. Then it's lighter skin thumbs up. Was the daddy light skin? Why did he do that? OK, that just made her daddy need his SB2. So she was dancing all night. I let a fan have fun. Her parents were there. Sorry, try again. Carry on. Dimension. Does nobody think about how shit looks? No. Is there nobody associated with you at-- I mean, through the whole planning of this event, backstage in the green room, nobody said, you know what we probably oughtn't I do? Have kindergartners on stage while host is poppy pussy. As Snoop is rapping about bitches and weed. I don't want a five-year-olds here, like a Snoop dog concert. Furthermore, oh, her parents were there. Let me tell you something. If I'm Snoop dog or whatever, I got some only fans, bitches in the back, or they pussy pop, or whatever. And he's like, oh, here's my infant. Can they come up on the stage? No. But thank you for coming. Would you like some-- what are you-- the mirror-- Right. And you share a problem, right? Some earplugs or something for your damn baby. Because why is he even here? All that tells me is that a lot of people make bad decisions when it comes to their kids. Because a Snoop dog concert on 4/20 in Colorado is the last fucking place I would bring a five-year-old. That's why she wanted to dance. She had a contact high. Right, that baby was higher shit. Sky. Sky zone. What is wrong with these niggas? You can't want to go somewhere that bad. You know, you're a parent. Sometimes you got to miss out. I'm so sorry. Sometimes you can't find a baby city. You just got to stay home. I'm so sorry, bitch. This is not the place for your damn baby. Because you thought babies were cute, but you didn't think, oh, these niggas will become toddlers. And they will also listen to key glock because I do. And then I'm down to the concert. And this bitch want to come too, and then also see walk on stage. Oh, right. Talking about she wanted to come. Because you asked her. Because you gave her the option. And then you agreed that she made her. If you don't take that baby, buy her me my house. Ain't any uncle somebody. Somebody. Or stay your ass at home. We have to come up with, like, a uncti app. Where-- I mean, not us, but like, you know, spiritual uncles and aunties out there that are willing to just babysit and stuff like that. You could be like, oh, I'm going to go, all right, well, fuck y'all too, shit, I'm trying. This way I ain't got no goddamn Jetsonite. We'll never attempt. This is a job problem. Baby probably at home eating wood chips at the moment. I won't even find a babysitter for Laney on the app. I'm for damn sure and not getting one for my human child. I'm not doing it. Ciao. These children in Toronto trying to sell the Drake Ice for $6,000 a month. The ice? Yeah. The frozen water. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. For $6,000? Look, then Jetsonite said, I'm leaving you here with something. No, you not. Because I know about it in the past $6,000 for frozen. Drake didn't even touch it. It's not even-- [LAUGHTER] They will-- The last check is probably cashed. Listen, come on. Drake is a pop star of a magnitude that, yes, see? I believe that it will not even be difficult for them to sell this chunk of ice. However big or small, and I can't wait for the TikTok of the bitch you spent six bands on a soaking wet cardboard box. How was eBay going to ship ice? I mean, with dry ice, you go and pay $300 to ship a piece of ice that you can't even certify came from this installation. And for what? Again, I'm really not understanding. How they know they can just get the ice from the grocery store? Right. Or, like, you, anybody could just be like, oh, yeah, this is the ice from Drake. OK, Nick has just been saying shit. I understand times are hard. Y'all trying to make your money, but this is very stupid. Girl, ice man, ice blocked card by Instagram name. These children are so dead serious. He wants you to know, oh, yes, me, my blow torch, and all these acrylics, we pulled this chunk of ice out and you may buy it for $6,000. I mean, I know it's a lot of dumbass people in this world, but I just cannot see nobody actually paying that. I can see you as a fan taking it home and, like, wrapping it up all special and putting it in the far corner of the freezer, hoping don't nobody ever touch it. But nobody has spent $6,000 on this. Right, so then you buy the, you buy the, the Drake ice. And then you put it in your deep freezer, and then, like, have the other OVOs come over and be like.
I mean, again, this is not even ice that Drake had anything to do with, like, it wasn't in his cut. You didn't take it from, like, his green room backstage or nothing. This is okay. You all just be coming up with shit. I'm just praying for the children. That's it. Okay. So, look. I want to read Chris Brown's reaction to our latest episode of The Read. So. I'm joking. I'm kidding. Okay. Because all of us was goofed and gagged. Like, what? We're not being kind. Me too, y'all. I said the same thing. Growing up. Started with that. Child, please. No. But I'm joking that he must listen to the podcast because he has reacted to people with the sentiment, such as the young person who wrote in and said, my millennial mama won us the byticket. Oh, right, right, right. Yeah. So, the bumps and bruises, a concert, and we said hell no. So, bumps and bruises, as we were receiving a lot of criticism for our views reasons. And if it's one thing, Christopher Maurice, Brown can't stand its criticism. Hello. Here's this Instagram story message. Oh, God. The funniest and weirdest shit ever to me is the fact that people, oh, Pope, have the option to come to my tour and the option not to. Amazing. Yeah. That's how life works. Brown life works. They're Christopher. I know everyone who is a fan of me and usher will definitely be in the building and it will be all caps packed just like last year. But I'm scrolling through the Insta and TikTok and I come across rage-bait pages and or these fake woke stand-up for nothing pages, bashing people for wanted to come have a good time. Yeah. Self-awareness is not in the room. The dude's hating. I can understand that thinking we don't steal your girl and shit. Bitch. Oh, my God. But the carons and the self-hating holes be making me laugh. I can't wait to rub this shit in y'all face. Mama, you are tip-tapping on the door 40. You got about six kids. What's the giving? What are you talking about? We the self-hating holes? Not the bitches spinning their heart on money to go see niggas that would beat their ass or give them an STI without thinking twice about it. I'm the one self-hating. And they're in the comments like, don't worry. We will be in the building king. Like, who are you trying to floss for, both y'all's look crazy, each and every one of y'all's look wild. Right. Chris would hold up a paper bag and tell all you bitches to turn around and go back from whence you came. Take your black ass back to your seat because who the fuck do you think you are? And you're tripping over yourself to--and you know most of that statement is actually correct. The show will be packed the way it has been before. People do have the option to go or to not. So while you are letting people that you describe as rage baiting, bait you into rage, what's not clicking Christopher? You're right. You're going to make your money. It's going to be plenty of holes. No doubt about that. Right. So what are you so upset about? You know, I think back to what was in 2009. And I remember most of us going sweet cheeks. This is a forever thing, like for the rest of your living in dead days. We are going to talk about this tough. And all he has done since then is be more women's asses and bicker and then get mad that people are like, well fuck him in the boat that he plans on sailing by on because we're not supporting abusers. Right. Self-hating? It's really not. And I'm struggling to make sense of it. No, we hate you. Plus, and then you're going to bring Usher and he's like, he's also getting ready. Right. Maybe he's going to go on tour by himself and they would have called it. Usher presents the bumps experience or whatever, like, right. Neither one of you are really in good PR standing with a fuck person. That's true. So I just, okay, okay. So we're the problem. That's what I'm hearing. And that Christopher somehow expects for people to just not talk about how much they don't like him. Like, do you really, you've been famous for 15 years or so now and you still have the expectation that people who don't like you not going to run their fucking mouth? You know how barely famous you have to be for people to talk about how much they don't like you. Bitches who are only famous online get talked about. You think you're not going to get talked about like, the expectations are off because we're dragging a man to have this summer house reunion. See, you don't even know what the fuck I'm talking about. They are dog walking this white woman. So Chris Brown with the fuck time you think this is. What is that lady wearing a name out there was like two women right here knew what I was talking about. White woman completely, friends with this gorgeous black girl named Sierra. Right. Okay. Like, beautiful black girl. Okay. But the reason she was dating this white man, black woman, no, not that one. Summer house. But it's like love Island. Sure. I mean, it's not, people in a house together fucking on each other, but it's not a dating show. It's not a dating show. It's like, oh, we share this time show or whatever. Okay. Beautiful black girl been tried on this program. White woman named Amanda who just ain't even divorced yet. Who a man that she married that this woman, Sierra, and every other woman around her was saying, maybe don't marry this bitch because he sucks. And you're miserable. And you just threw all of his shit out on the front porch because he was slizzered off a Yagermeister and didn't come in the house until 6.30 a.m. Maybe don't marry him, bitch. And then you're, you ain't even divorced yet. And now you stole Sierra. It's like, not even stole. She's secretly behind Sierra's back. But she's been dating her ex and this supposed to be her best friend and a best friend. Best friend. Best friend. Yes. Yes. And you know a problem in the house. Presspin in the house. I would like. Okay. I believe they're actually, they really are friends, but I would say they're their best friends in real life. In real life. I don't buy it. That's my friends in real life too. She, she said that enthusiastically, bitch like this. I've always don't fear it and buy it to be genuinely close. Either way, a man's a played a game, has not taken any accountability for a disrespecting her best friend. And you know what Bravo is trying to do? Spread around this. Oh, her mental health. Okay. Okay. Because they're dragging her. All right. Right. Girl, fuck you and fuck West, West, whatever the fuck his name is. And oh, good luck to you and lover boy and whatever that wack ass sparkling water business is. You're a flop, cows a drunk flop, West is a country flop. Yeah. I don't want to hear it about your mental health when your mental health is bad because people are rightfully chewing your ass up because you did something fucked up. Hey. Don't tell me about Russell Simmons mental health, bitch, I don't care. He deserves it. If you want to go into an even deeper Bravo rabbit hole, why nobody say nothing about them, Ruth or whatever the fuck that girl name is that fuck Tom Sandoval, Rachel Robinson, Raquel, whatever, it was an R name. You are too scared of all, okay, well, let's go back to love island. The host of love islands are on a matter. She got that job because white women were like not again. Tom Sandoval is her boyfriend of many, many years on Vanderpump rules. We had a whole relationship with Ariana's best friend on the show. Okay. So this is like some of house. Very much like it, but the difference is, one nobody worried about that skisers mental health because the one on the other side, blonde white woman, next thing you know the bitch is our ABC sitcoms and hosting love island, for the fuck what, what do you know about love you failed? No. Why aren't you, you should be a contestant bitch. Yeah, I feel like her job is to just be pretty, like she just supposed to be pretty and that's it. But okay, well, what else you know about white people? Let me think. This is so much. Not to raise your hand, not somebody brought that white boy for it, he was like I do have some things to share. I think that's enough for that hot, yeah, yeah, yeah, with the show. We talking about white women on Broadway, you ain't never heard of, but summer house, look up that Sierra Miller shit, how dare they disrespect this black queen. It is anti black and I don't even know what happened, but it is. They are calling me girl, let's jump in, okay, so it's time for some audience.
- Oh, Lordy. - Listener, question. Listeners live. (laughing) I believe there's-- - Okay. - Let's segue into the audience questions. If anyone has a question to ask us, I believe we have a microphone set up right over here in this aisle. - I'll take it down. - Not take it down. - Oh, look at that. - Ooh, Anna Spotlight. (audience laughing) Oh, amen, thank you. Somebody gotta be brave. 'Cause y'all know this is part of the show. (audience cheering) Hello. - Hi. It's so-- - Hi, lovely. - Y'all, oh my gosh. - Bring it down, girl. - What's your name? - What's your name? - Hi, it's so good to meet y'all. My sister told me about y'all when I was a freshman in college. Now I'm almost 30, and y'all have literally shaped my twilight. - Oh my God, I love that. (audience cheering) Thank you, baby. I love being old. (audience laughing) - The first one. (audience laughing) - I didn't, I meant it in a positive way. - Yeah, y'all always do. We know. (audience laughing) - Okay, so I'm debating. I'm celebrating my 29 and a half birthday. And I'm-- - Yeah. 'Cause why not? - No. - And I've been debating whether to invite my brother because he's kind of a hoe on court. - Okay, many brothers are. - But like, it seems like he has chosen to exclusively mess with my friends. (audience cheering) - Raggedy. (laughs) Other than his girlfriend, that's in Kenya. (audience laughing) - So he has a girlfriend, but he has slept with how many of your friends? - He's only fingered one and the rest-- (audience laughing) - All right, well. - Girl! (audience laughing) - Oh Lord, okay, and how old is your brother? - He's 29. - 20? - No. - He's 28. - He's 28. - 28, okay. So you trying to have like a sleepover party? You trying to rent like an Airbnb and have everybody come over and spend a night? - Not definitely not spend a night. It's just like a get together, but the thing is like, whenever I link up with my friends is when I find out that he's hooked up with someone. So it's never, like he's never telling me-- - Of course not. (audience laughing) - Because then you would stop bringing him around. - But he's exclusively, you feel like fucking with your friends. - He will talk to girls at the club, but in terms of actually pursuing longer term stuff, it's always with my friends. - Okay. - Because he's around our friend group a lot. Like, I've adopted him into my friend group. - Why? (audience laughing) It was before he was in that phase. - Right. - Yeah. - But now that he's in it, why would you invite him? This is my question. - First, say less. (audience laughing) - She said, period. - Yeah. Don't bring your brother unless you want one of your friends to be the mother of your niece or nephew. Leave his ass at home. - Okay. - Yeah. - Yeah, I agree. Leave him at home. It's not helping that, you know, niggas all have friends. Do they at all? - That's not your problem. - But it's definitely not your problem, right? - And then, okay. So I was just kind of gonna have my party. Anyways, and let him find out, but I did get, my man told me I should at least talk to him and tell him why he's not invited. I wasn't going to. - Yo, what do yo' man know, though? For real. (audience laughing) - I don't want him to catch a straight, but I was like, okay, maybe I should communicate to my brother like why he's not invited, but I don't know if it'll help. - Why? - I mean, you can, but I don't see what difference is. - Right. - You're not coming regardless of the reason. So, okay, I mean, I, - I mean, shout out to your man for trying to, you know, be positive, man, fences or whatever, for sure, oh, niggas, shut birthday. Do what you want. - Right. A girl only turns 29 and a half once. - Once. (audience cheering) - One time, just once. Nice meeting you, lovely. - All right, thank you, baby. - Happy birthday, ish. (audience laughing) - Oh my gosh, very similar to her. I turned 30 in like two weeks. - Wow. - Congratulations. - Oh no, it's May 14th, I'm a tourist. (audience cheering) I'm 14. Okay, hi y'all. - Hey. - So, first off, I've been listening to the reasons I was in college. - And now you're 14. (audience laughing) - I also was a skater in a commercial for y'all, so that was really cool. - Oh wow, nice. - It was a merch commercial. - Right. - It was a sparkle. - Oh, that's like really good commercial. - Right. - So, Crystal, I'm sure you were tired of talking about Cardi B, but I'm not, I love it. - But my question for you, so when you had kind of addressed everybody about the rants and all, you had said that you had learned stuff in, when you were in school for psychology, about child development, and I was just really curious to know what was it about child development that you learned that made you kind of like, be like, I don't like this at all. - Um, well, it was, I mean, if you want like studies, I can, when I get back to my computer, I can pull up some links for you. - I'm a nerd, I love that. - Okay, well I can do that, but to not turn this into a lecture, there was one class in particular. It was actually the entire degree program, but there's a class you take in like your first semester called Life Stage Development, and every week you, okay, somebody else has taken it, oh, the girl's not. And so every week you go over a different stage of life development, this self-explanatory. But you learn about how children's attachment and the foundation for their mental health, their well-being, their self-regard, all of this stuff is really foundational and is formed at a pretty young age and being exposed to people who cannot do the things that children need to do in order to grow up healthily, means that they will be struggling with those same things. So like, if your father, for example, gets frustrated every time something doesn't go his way and he starts slamming cabinets and walking around being moody and making his problem, everybody else is problem. You as the child in the home end up, well, you could take that a few different ways, but a lot of people learn to start like people pleasing and that's where that starts, where it's like, you're trying to figure out what's going on with everybody and make sure everybody's good. And even if they don't want to talk about it, you going above and beyond, trying to blow a blow, that sort of thing. Or you learned that that's how you deal with anger or frustration or whatever else. So you start treating other people like that. And then as you grow older, you don't get out of that because nobody's modeling it for you. That's the thing. You can say whatever you want to say to your kids, but they see what you do. They hear what you say, but they see what you do. And parents are a child's first and most foundational teachers. And so, I mean, again, if you want to read research, if y'all actually want to read the research, I'm happy to share it, but-- This is-- This is Health Journalist. So I literally-- So you knew the answer to this. I did not go to the answer. Just a journalist, I didn't go to school. Yeah, well, I talk about the importance of being emotionally mature when you have children because the way you act will influence the way they act. And you just take a look around at the dating pool, for example, which everybody is fucking over. And we're all constantly bitching about how dating is terrible. That's because these people have been raised by people who have fasted or didn't know what they were doing or hadn't addressed their own fucking issues. And they bled that out onto their kids. And that's why the people who go to therapy or who do the inner work are called cycle breakers. Because you're literally breaking that cycle. It will continue to perpetuate until somebody steps in and says, enough is he fucking enough. So that's why I think it matters who you choose to reproduce with. Now, y'all may not agree. But I'm not-- I'm not backing down on that. Thank you. You welcome public health journalist asking me something. You already knew. [LAUGHTER] Oh. Hello, hello, hello. All right. So it's funny. So right now, the person about to ask questions about is text to me or calling me right now. All right. So-- Love that. All right. The story is, she's sitting outside because, all right, I don't-- not y'all shocked, he said she. [LAUGHTER] No, I-- no, no, no, no, no, so the story-- Y'all ain't she. Y'all are not shit. No, no, no, no, no. Make me a bird. We trying to hear the story, y'all, please. So the story is, is that I don't like-- my sister's dusty ass partner. OK. OK. So my sister's dusty ass partner, They are trans-nobliners.
binary. And so she tends to think that like, you know, understand the plight and it's a difficult time for people who are gender questioning and all those things right now. Right. However, I don't think that it excludes you from being a horrible person. Damn sure, don't. And so that person had a tendency to I call it abusive. There has to if there's if it's something that's not about them, they have to make it about them. Which is the reason why like me and my friends are here, I bought the ticket for her. She didn't make it. You can kind of get where I'm going right now. Okay. So but my question becomes we've had these conversations. I tend to be I struggle with being too overly for my opinions. But I've learned to let adults be adults. But when she comes to me when things happen and acts like nothing happened, and I'm supposed to act like nothing happened, I struggle with what do I do with that situation? Because I did see what I saw. Right. And I know what happened. However, you're acting like nothing happened, even though just a couple of hours ago, a bunch of shit happened. So when you say a bunch of shit, do you mean like verbal abuse, physical abuse, financial abuse? Like, can you give me an example of something the partner does? Okay. So that I've never seen verbal or physical abuse. Okay. However, like, for example, we have a good together at our house yesterday. And if it's a situation where she's not the focus, what they're not the focus, they will find some kind of issue to make it awkward and tensions when there's nothing there. And I see it because me and my sisters are very close. And I'm supposed to, and after it's all said and done, I saw her today, my sister today. And she act like nothing happened. And I'm supposed to be cool. And that person comes around me. And for the most part, I keep it cordial. However, I find it very difficult. Right. When they, when they have these outbursts or, you know, selfish moments, what does, does it switch the energy? Does it create tension? Can you feel like your, your sister is the mood shifts when this happens? Absolutely. Okay. I can tell that she cannot be herself around this person. Got it. But in that person, like, I feel like there are some resentment towards me because when she's around me, she can be herself. And well. So a lot of people, I'll go. I mean, it's a lot of me. So is the question is sort of like what to do with the complication of of being protective and witnessing these things? And then also being left with like, no one's really acknowledging this. And I'm no, the question more is is because again, I've gotten to the point where I've done the work where I can allow adults to be adults. But when I'm facing a situation, we're going to act like nothing happened. And I'm expected to act like nothing happened. So that's exactly where you stop. Right. Okay. Like you can live in your own delusions where you pretend that this person's behavior isn't trash and a mess and they don't need to grow the fuck up. But I'm not going to do it. I'm going to talk about it. We don't have to drag it on forever. But I'm not just going to come and meet up with you. And we're going to act like that person didn't come in the house of the day and throw a fucking tantrum and make the whole moment about them. Like, I'm just not going to act like that didn't happen. Okay. I'm not pushing you out of my life. I'm not saying that we can't hang out or nothing like that. But if we can't even be honest about what's actually going on, like, I'm not going to sit here and help perpetuate the lie in your mind that everything is okay. Right. It's not okay for it's not okay for your partner to act like this. Again, I'm not trying to isolate you because that sounds like it could turn into an abusive situation quickly. But I am going to acknowledge like, you only can do something fucked up. And that and it has an effect on me. I'm not going to pretend like it does bother me. Like, it is upsetting me. It does. And so, right. Of course it does. And so your sister may have to really sit with like, what is she willing to put up with for the sake of this relationship? But I definitely think that you should make your feelings clear. Like, I would not be going along with it. Like, did nothing happen, especially not after all this therapy. I'm not doing it. Oh, it's lovely. Thank you. Oh, hey, man. Whoo. All right. Who's next? Hi, great. How are you? First of all, I love y'all. I'm good. Just a quick question. This is mainly for Kate Fury, Chris. So I know you probably wouldn't go anywhere near this. That's fine. Have you watched the show from? And if so, what do you think about it? I'm still in season three. So no spoilers. Okay. I think I randomly, I must have been watching something scary on Amazon. And then it just popped up in like, users might also like whatever. And I saw, got it, remembers name. I saw the lead in the. Yes, I saw him in the graphic. And I was like, Oh, excellent, I'll look at this. I was not prepared for how good that show is. It's, it's horror lost. I don't understand how I'm so deep into the show so far. And I still don't know what the fuck is going on. It's just scary as shit, confusing as shit. Everybody fucked up. I love it. And I'm glad that this is supposed to be, it's supposed to be the last season. Wrap it up when it has an end. Yeah. That's all I wanted to know. I want to hear you talk about it. I know you love horror. Thank you. Yeah. It's good. I love that. We love that dress. Period. A fit. Yes. Labor flame. Who? Hobari Ghani. What's the? Oh, yes. Hobari Ghani, my nigga. Hey, all right. It's quads in this. Oh, two quick things. Number one, congratulations and salutations on you impacting niggas lives for 13 years. Hey, thank you. Thank you, brother. And allowing us to evolve into our final nigga Pokemon form. Period. Um, second thing is so we all know that Beyonce expertly covered Jolene on cowboy cutter at three with what's one rock cover rock song that you would like to hear be covered. And if I made a two part of what's your favorite unreleased Beyonce record? Favorite unreleased Creole when I look real good. That's real high. They don't know that. Maybe let's go crazy. Hmm. Prince. I'm trying to think of a rock song. Big to one. Um, smells like teen spirit. Did you try? I did try. I don't really know rock music that will. But also Delulu have y'all are doing a lot. Tina's Tina Turner has rock record. Shaka has a rock record or two. Oh, but I, but I wouldn't expect her to cover a black person's rock music. Why? I don't know why. That's just like that wasn't my first thought. You could put Jimmy Henry or you could put Jimmy Hendrix in there. It's like a lot of right. But I would, I could see her more of sampling or bringing those songs into a new song than covering this. Yeah. You know, Jolene is a white woman's song. So I just was, that was just my first thought that she would take like white rock and do something better with it. Anything by Paramore. Oh, yeah, Paramore. But ain't that girl by ratio? Beyonce would eat misery business. She would. Ooh, ooh, ooh, not everything. I don't know what's that. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, brother. They still think that's going to be a destiny's shadow of them to you as well. Huh? They still think that's going to be a destiny's shadow of them. Delulu Hype has convinced themselves of some real shit every day. Dressed. Oh, look. Oh, another fit. Hello. Hello. Hi, guys. So I got a couple of things I'm gonna go through real quick. First off, y'all, can we give them some noise for coming back to Atlanta? Oh, work. I had to put a little pressure on y'all because I'm an OG fan and like, I love 13 years, but y'all got to come back a little bit more. We love y'all, okay? We don't hear it right now. I know. She said, but again, but again. So my second thing, okay? So I'm clearly an extrovert, but I have a friend here that's with me as an introvert. She's from Florida. So I'm not going to say anything. But can my friend stand up? Girl, you got to stand up. Come on, friend. You asked the introvert. Make it an introvert. No, no. Diabolical. She's over there. Do not like extrovert. Girl. Okay. She over there. She's over there. But she's a big fan that's taking some great advice from you guys. And so I told her, I was like, if I get up here, girl, she already text me right now. I know you fucking lying.
- Yeah, you got me live right now. - So my other thing just to kind of wrap it up and big shout out to y'all for 13 years is as you guys go through our stories, I gotta know what's your favorite. I'm a little biased 'cause smell and taste like. - Oh God. - The fact that that still comes up. - Did it kick in a smell and taste? So question for y'all. Okay, wait, my back, I like your purse though. So question y'all, what's your favorite favorite fan story? - Yeah. - I love the one where the nigga said it was a compilation. He was watching. - Oh my God. - He was watching his ex-girlfriend's porn and his new girl found down. He was like, oh, she just came up in a compilation. - Yeah. - Maybe you didn't even think that through. Get out of my house. - That was a good one. Smell and Taste is also a classic. - The cousin fucker. - Which one? - Headphones. - Oh, the candle one. - Oh. - Oh, candle, oh, you know what? - I stand by my perspective. - Yeah, candlegate is my favorite of all time because y'all were pissed. It was a two-part. - It was a two-part. We've never had a two-part in that way. - That might be the best one. - And y'all were split 50/50. - Bitch, you're a wild and bitched on by my man, no candle. Like, y'all were. - His day people still bring that up. - And there's not many letters that we've had where we have been on completely opposites. - Right. - It's just like I don't agree. - That was the first one I rate. - I still want to know. - Where did you come from? - I'm here to come from. - I came out of nowhere. It's okay. - This is my friend here. - But I know each other. - I was sad. - You know him? - That's what you get for having a dead boyfriend. I want him up there. - Oh, yes. The one where, where the girl tells her. - Beautiful pants, lovely pants, lovely pants. - He really just got up and got on the mic. - He sure did. - Y'all, it was like, what's the scene with RayJ where it's like every scene, the hat was changing. So I know I'm like, you cut your eyes like, oh, hey, friend. - Oh, I love your pants. - But let me respect your eyes. - That was a good one though, yes. - Y'all welcome back to Atlanta and happy 13 years. - Thank you so much. Thank you, thank you. - Thank you, introvert friend, wherever you are for bearing that. - This is why introverts don't like being friends with introverts. She gonna cut you out in a whisper when you get back to your seat. - Hi. - Hi. - Hi, I love y'all so much. I've listened to every single episode ever. - Oh, why? - I wait for this show every single week. But I don't have a lot of drama in my life, but I did want to ask a question. Crystal, I love you so much. - Thank you. - I think it's so beautiful. - I, for all the soundstakes, I wanted to know if Kifuri could give us an acronym. - Holy shit, I haven't done that in a long time. - The way I don't even know what you're talking about. - You don't remember where I used to do acronyms at the end of the episode? This is like the first two years of something. - Yeah, every week, we be getting acronyms. - You don't remember that? - No. - For years, we be getting acronyms for years. - It was like every week for maybe the first few years, I would admit. - No, you know what I remember? Bitch, you guessed it. (audience laughing) That's what I remember. 'Cause that actually hurt. And the way y'all kept cheering for that. - It was great, it was great. - It literally was painful to me. - It was great. - Okay, I got it. I got it. - Okay. - L-N-F-E. - Light skin niggas flopping everywhere. (audience laughing) - Well, thank you so much. I love y'all. - Love you too. - A real throwback. (laughs) - Light skin's down bad. Hi. - Hey y'all. - Hi. - So, my name is April. - Hey y'all. - Hey April. - Great name. - With a Y. Anyway, okay. So every time y'all get hyped about an album or a TV show or a movie, like most of the time I don't see it until later. And so, like I really, really, really try with the Steven Universe thing. And it's just like, I think it's because I don't smoke. - No, no, no, no, that ain't it. - I'm gonna try again though, I promise. - Baby, the audience is not on your side. - The audience saying it was bad, I just said I, you couldn't, yeah. - You know, I got it. - That's fair. But anyway, as a proud member of the end game, and as a licensed professional counselor, I would like to give Crystal a few reasons why she should watch Avatar the Last Airbender. (audience cheering) - First of all, not the notes, not the notes. - I worked hard on this, too. - Y'all some nerds. Look at you fucking nerds. - Let me start. - We're gonna start with a contextualized trauma. - No, ma'am. (audience cheering) But you don't wanna watch Steven Universe? - Let her cook. - You don't know what you're missing. - Saus it up, diva, whatcha got? - Okay, so we're set at the end of 100 years war, so we know that it's plenty of trauma, right? And the kids are not okay. But even though the kids are not okay, they got regular trauma just like kids do now. - Well, this is not happening to you now. (audience laughing) - The kids deal with perentification, abuse, grief, abandonment, and they explore these issues, but they don't forget that these kids-- - Steven, you not bad. - She is not finished. (audience laughing) - It's not finished, mama. - In tunnel family systems. - Well, I know all about parts why. - She is 1,000% cooking. (audience laughing) Everything she's saying is spot on. - Okay. - The juxtaposition. - Okay. - Work! - Of the father's son, dynamic. (audience cheering) Between Hacota and Saka versus Zuko and Ozai. (audience cheering) You can write a whole thesis on that. - Steven is literally, his mother literally died to bring him into the world. - I thought it was one of the magic girls. - He is carrying all of her shit within him. Both fathers, both fathers are heavily invested in their son's success. - So what is the point? - What is the point of encouraging and uplifting while the other is demanding, inflexible, and marcellous. But both of the boys are insecure, both of them are courageous, and both of them go on an identity journey to figure out who they are. (audience cheering) You want some more? (audience cheering) 'Cause I got attachment styles, I got emotional regulation, lessons on, things like that. - That's right. - Now we don't have time for all of that. - I told you the Vasula. - Y'all wanna talk about that? - No, we do not, thank you so much. (audience laughing) - But what I will say, sequel series, woman avatar, gay, gay. Oh, I guess it's kind of a spoiler, but. - You just said he had two daddy's, so I already heard the gay, but. You're, thank you so much. - Thank you. - LPC, your point has been made and received. - The last airbender is literally the world really living in, but less cool, 'cause it doesn't have, we don't have magic. - Person in the red and white stripes shirt, you gonna be the last letter, question. All right, hello, you ready to drag me to for not watching anime? - No, I'm not. I feel like you got enough, I feel like you got enough. But I just want to say that I love you guys. I discovered you guys recently in the past like, thank you. And I'm welcome. - I'm welcome. - Five years and I'm not gonna lie, I restarted the whole show. - Love that. - I'm from the 13th, probably like in the 2015, air right now. - Well, but I was all caught up. - Okay, anyways. Has something messy. - Okay, love that. - Show us the opinion on. (audience laughing) - So, I was in. - Pants turned 180 to what? (laughing) - Sent. - Exactly. - Okay, so I had this best friend since 2014, right? We were the best of friends. Literally, we fell out, but we came back together. And recently, she wanted to do a trip for her birthday this year. - It's always a fucking birthday trip. Always, always a goddamn group trip. - All the time. - So, my job, my job, my birthday, my birthday is May 6th. So it's coming up. (audience cheering) Okay, it smells very, very, very hard. Birthday is coming up, but last year, I did the drink around the world for Epcot last year. - Oh no. - I had my friend, you know, she was part of the group, she came, or whatever. So after the trip, she was like, "Oh, I wanna do something for my birthday." Her birthday was in January. I'm always gonna be there for my friends, so. She was like, "Oh, I wanna do Puerto Rico." Cool girl, let's do it, like what you mean. So I'm thinking she's gonna plan a trip, do her thing, you know, send information. She did not do any of that. She was sending it to me and was like, "Can you please help me plan this girl? "I'll just plan a trip." You need to plan your trip, right? So, time went on, it gets closer to like November. Mind you, my birthday was in May, she gave this idea in like September. So we started looking at playing, you know,
take it's around November because we just get that. So I was like, we're going to get our playing tickets around this time, but she had not given anybody any idea about it on our tenor area or anything. So I was like, oh, K-girl, I don't want to shed on your dreams, but hey girl, we know it. So I got our playing tickets, right? Not enough births in the air. They're all on the ground. So she was like, yeah, you know, I have a lot going on and my other friends, they were like, hey, what's going on girl? And I'm like, I don't know, you know, I'm not planning it. So I got our playing tickets because she was like, hey best friend, like if you're going to go ahead and get your tickets, can you get mine? I'll send you the money, right? Now mind you, we have done this plenty of times and she sent me my bread. Okay. Okay. So she had good credit right? She had good credit, right? So I bought the playing tickets, $1,600, right? You and her. Okay. We had her, right? Because yes, I did. I did. I bought her because it's my best friend. Right. It wasn't spirit because I didn't want to arrive in spirit. You know what I'm saying? It was Delta. So it was Delta. This is where America and the blooms. Hi, yes. Delta, yeah. Definitely went through after pay because I love a good payment plan. I've got to be on time. Yeah. So I put our tickets on there. They paid to Delta, right? But my other friends were like, hey girl, I don't think we should go. She's not giving us any information. I was like, you know what? I'm not going to lie. She's not. But I had already bought the tickets because then good faith. I was trying to be there for my best friend for her birthday. Okay. So long story short, they text her and said, girl, we're not going. Okay. And she was like, I guess I have to cancel it, right? So she canceled it. And she was like, oh, see if you can get your money back for the playing tickets. In what world? Baby, it's third party. They're not giving me my money back. Right. We had to pay them, right? And she was like, oh, what the fuck? Like, why the fuck do we have to pay it back? Like, hey, we should still go. Do you know that this girl told me that she would rather me be shorter on rent. So we can go all her trip. Wait. So. Okay. Okay. So the two of y'all, the two of y'all couldn't go because it would have been too expensive. Is that what I'm hearing? So it was supposed to be six of us originally. Okay. Two people, you know, they can go. So four. But then my two best friends, because I had the three best friends, her and then the other two. They were like, she's not giving us enough information. We can't go. Right. So she was like, oh, we can still go on. No, we can't. So wait, how did the UB short on rent is the preference here? How did that even come out? Because she still had not paid me back. Okay. Okay. There we go. Because she did not pay you back. But as she still has not paid you back, but he said, oh, do you know that I paid for the, but like it was on a payment plan. It was four payments. I gave her all of the like the scheduled time that after pay gave to us. And I gave it to her and the date of, I was like, hey girl, don't forget to send me your dadadada. Eight hours went by. And then I'm out doing something. And she says me, she's just like, hey girl, like I had like a seizure. And I didn't like, I'm using that. I'm using my money. And I was like, girl, none of that matters to me. You know when you were supposed to give me my money. Right. Give me my, you know, this is still before you had a seizure. Yeah. So. Right. So you want to know if you should hit her with a car. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, risk. Yes, but because I talked to my parents about it, right? Because I ended up paying the whole thing, the whole thing, right? Okay. And I asked my dad at first because he's a more level-headed one. I said, so should I be her asses? You are wrapped this up, babe. I said, should I be her asses? Should I take it or court? He said take it or court. But my, my, my mom told me not to take it or court. Like, you know, God knows my heart. He's gone 10 fold and this stuff like that. So I was wondering what y'all think I should do. If you're not willing to take it or spend more going to court, for $800. It was like $810, but it's the principal. Like, some like $800. It's the principal. Like I got rent to pay. Right. No. Take that to small claims. I think, I think you could take her to small claims for that, but isn't going to be worth the court cause. It's going to be like $200, but that's what my mom was saying. She was like, you're going to be shelling out more money than you. Well, I mean, why are y'all okay? Listen, all I want to say is sometimes you got to pop out and show niggas. Yeah. That's what I was thinking. I mean, I'm not opposed to it. Are y'all still friends? It sounds like no. Okay. Right. Okay. I mean, yeah. If you willing to risk $200 on this and you have it in writing, like, does she text you all this about my mom? And then supposedly she was asking people to go sit at Don to all of her concerts. That was cool. Okay. Yeah. No, girl. Wait. I mean, yeah. I mean, yeah. Fuck her. Small claims. Court is an option. Yeah. So nice meeting you. Your blush is on. Have a great night. Thank you, baby. All right. Hello. Hi. My name is Jasmine. I'm so grateful to me, y'all. Thank you for coming, Jasmine. I know. Yes. I've also been listening since college. Y'all started like my second year of college. Love that. You know, it's beautiful time. Right. Welcome. Yes. But yeah, I wanted to ask y'all because both of y'all have left y'all's hometowns, you know, Katy Perry. You left New York and went to LA. Like, you've moved twice. You know what I mean? So like, I know. I know. I know. I'm saying he's moved to I know. I know y'all. I've been here for 13 years. I'm oh, y'all. Um, anyway, I wanted to ask y'all I'm going to be moving to LA in the next year. Oh, and I'm really excited. I'm moving with my boyfriend. I've been going there for like, y'all don't know my nigga. Y'all are so ghetto. Yeah, I don't know my nigga. All right. What's your question, baby? My question is, yes, my question is, um, yeah, no. I wanted to ask y'all what is something that y'all would have told y'all selves, like, moving from your hometown to a new city. Like, what would you would have told yourself, like, yeah, anxiety around, you know, like starting a new life type shit. Sorry, y'all damn. Oh, Lord. Well, it's his mama white. No, no, both his parents black his hand. Okay. I was just asking to be messy. Um, well, you know, make sure you have your own first of foremost. Yes. Um, but something I would have told myself to ease my anxiety. I didn't really have anxiety about moving to New York thing. Anxiety was around, you know, staying where I was, but I was ready to go. I was ready to do something new. So, um, I feel the same way about I've been, I feel called to leave. I've been here my whole life. So I know that there's a lot from you there, but, you know, it's still leaving my hometown type shit. Right. Type shit. Yeah. I don't know. I guess if I off the top of my head, it would be like, this is a place. It's not like, uh, it's not an organ. It's not like a life and you're going to a place that has all of these, uh, opportunities and things for you to see. And again, you having lived in one place your whole life. Um, there is some anxiety. I get it's like, when I moved from Miami, I was like, how, and I've been, I have family in New York. I've been in New York a bunch of times, but it was like being on my own in a new city. What is that going to be like? It's a place. So I think overall, especially because you're moving with someone. Y'all please don't say nothing about my men. Y'all have like, uh, I sure well, baby. I will not say nothing about you. Man, I'm wishing you the best of luck. Thank you. Yeah. I like him be hard. Yeah, it feels that way when I go. Okay. Okay. So you know, I do know LA is a particular place. It is a particular place. There is a very, very solid and respectable black community there. Black natives, especially in LA, some of the solid niggas I've ever met in my life. But I would just say, like, this is an adventure. Let me go and make the best out of it. And, you know, worst case scenario. I'm a leaf. Like, and that's someone who live in LA, bitch, they do it every day. You don't have a good time and build up your patience because traffic is bad here and it's bad there. So, yes. And sometimes you lay down in the ground, just move. Oh, no. Ain't nothing's very good. Honestly, I slept through like two or three. The two that I felt it was just like, wait. It's something going on and then Link would come into the room and be like, where's the water?
I don't know if she would be the reason I would realize, oh, there's an earthquake happening. - Yeah, yeah. - But I've never experienced the big one. - Right, right, right. - Right, okay. - I'll take our hurricane any day. - Enjoy it. - Yes! - Oh my gosh! - I smashed the fuck out my ear. - And Luna too small. - Everybody know each other. (laughing) Of course it is. - Hello. - Hi, I'm Alicia. So, I'm nervous, but I'm very excited. You guys have, thank you. (laughing) I've been listening to you guys for years. I couldn't even tell you how long it's been that I've been listening to you guys, but I'm very excited. And I know it's been everyone's birthday of my birthdays in two days, and so I can send it. - Happy birthday! (audience cheering) - Happy birthday. - But I want to ask you guys, so I'm trying to put myself out there this year, in terms of, I know dating is not it. I mean, but yeah, but now that I'm in my 30s, and this is a better year, I'm trying to definitely put myself out there more and actually try to date and do all these things, but I'm introverted and have some anxiety and a smidge of ADHD. So, it's all the laugh for me to come up here. (laughing) (audience cheering) - And you know the gag to be so sparklingly gorgeous, and just to be like, right. (audience cheering) - Thank you. - Yes. (audience laughing) - So you're a little bit anxious about putting yourself out there for a baby. - Yes, but in general, just like when I'm in spaces where I don't know a lot of people, I just tend to not make a ton of eye contacts and other things, and I realize eye contact is important for men to know that they can talk to me. - Well fuck that, like who cares what they want? - She just says she trying to date. - I'm trying. - But I mean, okay. (audience laughing) - Yeah. So I'm curious to know from you guys of like, what would you recommend like things that I can do to get more comfortable to put myself out there more? - Ooh, you talking to somebody who'd be at the house. (audience laughing) But I'm also not an introvert, so if I go out, I'm going out with the big smile, handshake, looking people in the eye type of thing. So, do you have extrovert friends who might drag you somewhere and then call you out and be like, hey, they're on your way to your hand? Or something like that and embarrass you in front of a room full of people? Do you have friends who can kind of like push you into their way of being? - So not, they wouldn't like push me into it, but 99% of my friends are extroverts. - Okay. - They just adopt me. - So can you maybe just go follow their lead? - I do do that. - Okay. - But they just won't overly push me. 'Cause they know me, so. - Right. Well, I mean, the more you do it, hopefully the more natural it becomes or the easier it feels. But I think copy and off of people who are behaving a way that we would like to behave is a great way to approach it. What about you, do you have advice for this? - Yeah, I would say that like, well, two things. One, being introverted isn't like unattractive. It's not a thing that is going to prevent you from meeting someone that is worth your time. In fact, someone who can see you before who you are and take that extra step of like, "Oh, I want to get that might actually just be weeding out "niggas that ain't worth their time anyway." That's one, two, dating is just dating. It's fun. Like, don't put too much expectation into dating, especially if you are dating cisgender heterosexual men. - Oh, yeah, yeah, no. - Just go have a time, find you an eater, and just-- - Yep. - And be safe. But you don't have to worry about impressing a man ever. - Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. - What has ever happened to be speaking to be an introvert? What if I have it in days where a lady would stand at the bar and just-- (audience laughing) - Not the baddie boo. (laughing) - You know, and a man would have to come over and be like, "Excuse me, miss, whatever the fuck." - Yeah. - You got to make eye contact with these niggas? - You're so pretty. Just go stand somewhere and wait. - I wish a nigga would not come speak to you. Are you-- - Well, I'll show up. - But I get it, it's just-- - Just put your phone in, put your phone in your bag. - Have some fun. - Yeah. - Thank you so much. - Good luck, baby. (audience applauding) - All right, what's up? - See, this is why I don't like doing shows or places that I have a bar. Because somebody all just take it a step further, like, "It's not deaf comedy, damn. "It's not an open mic." I mean, I guess it is. - Hello. - How y'all doing? How y'all doing? Okay, I'm a little nervous. I'm an introvert, like she is. (audience laughing) - Y'all should just exchange numbers. - Right. (audience laughing) - But, anyways, ooh, nervous. - It's 'cause she's fine, huh? - I was about to say, you got a-- - You got distracted. - I do have 80s, she is with me. - Yeah. - I just found out. (audience laughing) - I'm trying to get my bachelor's. So, you know, okay, congrats. - All right, so basically, oh my god. Oh, y'all attention is on me. All right, so I was dating this girl for about a year and a half. She is bad, but it didn't go nowhere. - Okay. - Right. - She had commitment issues. She had some, you know, trauma that she had to take care of. All right, so soon after that, (laughs) so after that, I decided to go my own separate way. I decided that I would go no contact. Cool, everything. Well, I'm a lesbian, honest. - Really? (audience laughing) - So I would have never got-- - I'm a lesbian, honest. - So, I decided that, hey, this is girl that I've been friends with. She wanted to link up, she wanted to chill. Everything was cool. Oh, girl, if you don't shut your ass, we have one more. - So, she wanted to chill, right? Cool, we linked up, had a great time for maybe about like a couple of months. So, don't do it too much, don't do it too much. Okay, so I decided that we weren't morally aligned, right? I'm sorry, I'm sorry. - Okay, it's gonna be one more. There's gonna be one more of you drunk ass miggers. (audience laughing) Shit, up. She's introverted. She up here talking about the fams driving her crazy. You talking about that? Oh, all the lesbians. Okay, so y'all weren't aligned morally. - We weren't morally aligned. - Okay, so I talked to my therapist and I'm trying to focus on myself, but I don't know where to start. Like I started, I actually brought a gym membership. I went back to school. Okay, like I'm trying, I'm trying. - Doing well. - I don't know where to start. - Well, you already started, what's your name? - I don't feel like I'm going anywhere. - Well, back to journey. But that's, it's the journey. - I knew you were going to do it. I knew you were going to do it. - So much of that process of getting back to ourselves feels like we're not doing anything. Keep going anyway. - Yeah. - New shit opens up the more you invest in yourself, the more you pour into yourself, the more you prioritize what you want and need. Other doors will start opening for you. Other things will start becoming clear. You'll start to develop hobbies and other interests and the more you invest in you and you become more yourself, you will invite the people who are attracted to the real genuine you into your life. But just keep going. Don't stop because you feel like you don't know where to start. You said you don't know where to start and then you told us two places you had started. - You know what it is? It's kind of like, like Bambi, when he's figuring out how to use his legs. Like, it takes a minute to be like, oh, this is, but then next to you know, you just get used to it, it takes time. - I had to duck off from Atlanta. I had to go back home. - Okay. - I needed a reset. I was home. Home is mortal beach. So you know. - I don't know where that is. - Anybody from South Carolina? - Okay. - All right. I had to duck off for a month and a half because it felt right to me. Like my family is my reset. - Okay. - I moved here probably about nine years ago. But still, like my community is my friend over there. - Okay. - Come on, friends. - Shout out to the friend. You're doing, you're doing amazing. Just keep going, okay? - Yeah. - Thank you. - Give yourself a break. Give yourself a break. - All right, we're running late. Less, less break. Oh. (audience laughing) Hey, beautiful. I don't know if you've heard. (audience laughing) But what's your name? - A. Jean Polly. - It's so nice to meet you, love. - It's so nice to meet you. (audience laughing) - Is it a quick question? 'Cause we're running late and she was supposed to be the last one. - I'll be quick, so I don't want to waste my time. I got up here for my friend, Kiana, to hold her spot. - Okay, but she was supposed to be the last one. So, y'all are-- - I know.
I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry. You've gotta come back to Atlanta. (audience laughing) - So what's the question? - I don't have a question. - Girl, sit your hands down. Sit down, sit down, sit down. Sit down, sit down, sit down, sit down. Sit down, boy, okay. - Wait, wait, wait, wait. - Keanu, girl. - Okay, okay, okay. So I had the question, but it was scared. Okay, you're right. - My name is Keanu. - We have five minutes. - We make six. - We got five minutes. - My question is this. I had a friend, right? The friend was fucking this nigga. Okay, however, comma, we, the friend was also messaging the wife. - Sit down, sit down. - No, listen, listen, listen. - Sit down, sit down, sit down, sit down. - Okay, no. - Okay, no. - Get a feelin', get a feelin', the fuck down. - No, no. - No. - No. - Sit down. - No. - Sit down. - No. - No. - No. - No. - Sit down. - No. - No. - No. - No. - No. - No. - No. - No. - What are you missing? - No, listen, listen, listen, listen. I told the girl to stop doing that shit. I just wonder what's wrong. What's wrong? Let's tell her to stop doing that shit. - Yes, okay, sit down. - You were not wrong. She was supposed to stop doing that shit. - Yeah, you were wrong, Sam. - Thank you for asking your question. All right, thank you, uh-uh, no. Do not give me a call, right? - I'm sorry, like that. (beep) - It's a difficult piece. - So, Clay Thompson, right? (audience cheering) I'm really, we said it on this show, and I'm not gonna accept on the re-be cursing everybody. No, niggas are curses, okay? We don't curse everybody, but we have tried to be nice about it, right? Yes, he do look like a beige version of the PBS logo. Yes, he do. - Oh shit. - Yes, he do. - That's true. - However, Meg was happy, so what did I say? Bitch, I'm happy. If Meg like it, I love it. Long as you're doing it right by my girl, everything is fine. Now all of a sudden, you got my bitch posting on Instagram stories. Talking about, you know, it's one thing for, right, actually. (audience laughing) Let me pull up the screenshot, because let me tell you something. When I saw this on Instagram, I thought, I said to myself, "When did I start following a fake Meg page?" (audience laughing) Like, these people buy in followers and shit, like, really pissing me off. I had to triple check to make sure it was really hard anyway. She posted, cheating, had me around your whole family playing house, got co-feet, holding you down through all your horrible mood swings and treatments towards me during your basketball season. Now you don't know if you can be monogamous. (audience laughing) Bitch, I need a real break after this one by y'all. She had an official statement come out for you. - Yeah, there was a, I didn't, I'm not. - It was, we broke up. - Right, the PR statement was something like, I am choosing to end my relationship, 'cause a niggin' off in a dog me, I'll not be damned. Something like that, but you know, dressed up in nice polite language. So. Here's my thing. You could have just left her the fuck alone. (audience cheering) Has Megan not been through enough? Mama dead, daddy dead, grandma dead. Got shot by a little Canadian nigga who played himself right into fucking prison. Like has she not been through enough? You could, if you wasn't gonna do right by her and this is a message to all of y'all, regardless of gender, if you was not gonna do right by that person, just leave them the fuck alone. You had her pulling out hug, or I'm all good recipes for Thanksgiving and shit, making baked beans with the meat in it for y'all, damn, daddy, had her glaze and ham and shit. Bought a house together, bought her that baby blue, pound her blue Bentley back in January. Nigga, that was January. Talk about, oh my God, my favorite car of all time, my man, my man, my man had her putting out that song. Talk about how you was dick and heard a fuck there, and I know y'all didn't like the song that don't matter. My bitch was happy. She was happy. (audience laughing) Why come around and fuck with her piece if you wasn't gonna do right by my girl? I don't understand. And what is this about horrible mood swings during your basketball season? Bitch, let's talk about that. So because you average in an 8.3 points per game, and one rebound, now all of a sudden, you gotta have a stink ass attitude, the whole house cold. She walking around on eggshells because your bitch ass is having a flop season. You taking your raggedy ass out, bullshit out on my girl? (audience laughing) See, and the light skin, I didn't got three deems from light skin niggas who said, please don't make it about being light skinned. I swear to God, I swear to God it's bad enough. I'm like, well, you gotta pick one. Is it light skinned about racial? Is it the white mama? Let me know. I'm finna say, 'cause I'm gonna, I'm gonna use a slur, 'cause I'm gonna use a slur. And of course, the point being, of course, we all know that niggas light skinned or not, we'll cheat on you. If that's what the fuck they wanna do, we'd have all been dogged out by somebody with four black grandparents. So, it's obviously not really about that. If a person wants to cheat on you, if they wanna disrespect you, they will do that. But I just don't understand why you would treat Megan that way. It's almost like you wanted to embarrass her. It's almost like you wanted to humiliate her. Why would, (laughing) she said, keep going, it's not enough. (laughing) It's just, when I saw this, I was at a bar. I saw this and I immediately was like, give me my tab, I have to go home. Like, I have to go home. I gotta go to my bitch house, we gotta, I gotta decompress and we gotta talk about this, 'cause what the fuck is going on? - I landed here. It was like five hours after she posted it. I landed here just naturally on Instagram, went through like two stories. - Yeah. - And then I see her page cheating. And I made like the divorce court lady face. I was like, I could, like, what? It's, oh see, this is why we can't do shows and venues with bars. - That's why I said, it's one thing to be cheated on, but by, I'm, I mean, let him use you. - Let him use you. - I just, you know what I really thought? I thought Clay Thompson was so grateful that a woman like Megan would even sneeze in his fucking direction. - I thought the same thing. - That surely he was gonna bend over backwards and do whatever he had to do in his bitch ass life to make her happy, accommodate her, keep a smile on her fucking face. Because the fact that Megan looked like that and you looked like that, you ever seen like a sugar cookie that come out the oven and somebody drop it before I get a chance to harden up? The fact that that's what you look like and you still have the nerve to step out on my bitch, with, at how we buy a house together, you over here cuddling my goddamn dog. Now that's when it's personal. - Yeah, yeah. - My dog is calling you daddy. We buying a house and shit together. And now you don't know if you can be monogamous. What the fuck are you talking bitch? I will beat your ass. We been monogamous, hold what the fuck is you talking about? You should have had this conversation with yourself and then me way before we got to the point of buying fucking property. You weird ass bitch. Why don't you just leave Megan the fuck alone? Just leave her alone, she been through enough. It's been hard enough. Period, right, literally women period. But especially, Meg, I feel a way about Meg. 'Cause it's been too much shit she'd gone through. With men and with women, you got glow really being weird. Hella people just act a strange about her. Like she already, if you watch the documentary, she already has very few close friends and family. For you knowing that you was going to dog her out to bring her around your family and she talking about how good it feels to be in a family and be around people and have this vibe and this energy with people again. Why the fuck would you play with her, nigga? I want to say something illegal. I was going to say it, but then it was like, I want to say something illegal. I do. I'm not going to go to prison.
prison behind that man, but I'm so tired of people who know that they don't have good intentions coming around just to fuck with your emotions and waste your goddamn time. Sit alone by your fucking self or just be honest about where you really at. Your clay Thompson plenty of holes will fuck you simply because you're clay Thompson. Why go through the bullshit of acting like you really wanted to build a life and have a real relationship and and grow something with me just to turn around and do some shit like this. Have my bitch on stage last night at the Moonlight Rouge fucking with tears in her goddamn eyes. Oh, I hate him. Oh, I hate him. She booked bone thugs in harmony to come perform at your Squidward tentacle looking as birthday function bitch. He named that fucking boat after her. Is this like a sociopathic thing? I don't know. Just don't allegedly be fucking with Lexi brown allegedly allegedly allegedly allegedly allegedly allegedly I thought audacity of these niggas it never ceases to amaze me and I'm I'm so I'm I'm sad for her but I'm also seeing a lot of people say like well this is why you shouldn't post niggas. This is why you shouldn't get excited. This is why you shouldn't fall in love. No fuck on that. You take your time, Meg. You take your time. Okay. You go cry. It's going hurt. You got to grieve. You going to heal. And then one day you're going to be ready again because let me tell you something. Clay Thompson not going to be the reason you don't find love in your life. I'll be damned. I'll be damned. So go on and sell that house. Keep your car if you want to. Take your time. Do your healing work. And then when you feel when the thought of niggas don't make you want to throw up then you get your ass back out there. But don't let one nigger who don't know how to keep you from living the life that you deserve. What you mean I'm not supposed to get excited. What you mean it's my bad for believing a niggas words. Hello. Hello. It's your bad for lying bitch. It's your bad for doing me wrong. So yeah, y'all probably from egg that the next nigger who come around will actually mean what he says and will treat hard with the kindness and respect that she deserves because I'm. I woke up. The first thing I thought about when I woke up was fucking Clay Thompson old bitch ass nigger. I can't believe that the first thing on my mind this morning I have a whole child. The first thing on my mind was Clay Thompson man fuck that nigger. I'm done I'm done. I was just going to read Jayde kiss a fad job for lying in Karisha's face. That's the long and short of it that song is awful and I don't know why they acted otherwise. You know I saw that song on tiktok and the comments said speed it up to 1.5 and then it's good. No and it really is you got to speed it up to 1.5 and then it's about but like how come the engineers in the studio didn't tell you that oh lord okay well all right. Well I think that's the read life all Atlanta y'all really acted out tonight but thank you so much for being here oh man another year still queer. Get home safe take care of yourselves and we'll see y'all the next time. Good night everybody.
