130 - AI Basics Masterclass | The Corey Ganim Show
71m 58s
This podcast episode features Cory as a guest speaker delivering an AI masterclass within a mastermind group for entrepreneurs and small business owners. He begins by acknowledging common challenges: many feel they lack time to learn AI, are unsure where to begin, or fear competitors will outpace them. Cory structures the session around a four-level AI literacy framework, starting with basic prompting of large language models (LLMs) like ChatGPT, advancing to workflow automation with tools such as Zapier, and ultimately progressing to designing intelligent systems. He emphasizes practical, actionable takeaways, including an overview of eight key, affordable AI tools and specific prompts that attendees can implement immediately. The goal is to empower participants to transition from casual AI users to effectively leveraging automation to enhance business efficiency and overcome operational pain points. Cory encourages interaction, addressing questions about tool differences (e.g., ChatGPT vs. Claude) and tailoring content to benefit both beginners and more experienced users.
Hey, guys. Welcome back to the podcast. So this week we've got a master class on the basics of AI So this one's a lot different from one that we've done in the past This was actually a snippet of my friend Carl's mastermind so he had me as a guest speaker inside his mastermind to go over some of the basics of AI Some tools that you can use some prompts that you can deploy right away and a lot of value over about an hour and ten minutes so I'm gonna jump right into the Call in the conversation with Carl's group if you want these slides that I used or this presentation They're super helpful and they include all the information that I break down over the course of this episode You can get that at the link in the description if you're watching on YouTube or in the show notes If you're listening on Apple or Spotify so with that we'll jump right into the AI basics master class This is a brand new type of content haven't talked about this type of stuff before so if you guys enjoy it and you have feedback Feel free to leave a comment or shoot me at the end and subscribe for more podcasts just like this. Thank you Welcome to another week of the Such a syndicate or extension leadership call so Today we get the wonderful pleasure of being joined by Cory and those of you don't know Cory I met him in person. He's actually a real person. I'm in him live Not this past year of the year before at AMZ United and handed chance to shake his hand and join us show a couple times But most in creatimate from wrong Cory, but most of your entrepreneurial journey has been in any commerce like the most of us here selling Amazon and And really this jayman in that world and you recently announced that You've decided to to pursue other dreams and hopes and aspirations, which is very admirable man. It really is so Cory first off man. I just want to say it's incredible to have you here. Appreciate you To share your knowledge and things that you're now jamming into And you've been in trenches just like founders like us man and Hammer things out and I've noticed that your passion is now You know leveraging AI to help founders entrepreneurs. So man, I just kind of leave the floor to you man Carry it carry it from here. Yeah. Well, no car. I'll appreciate it man. That was a great intro Really appreciate you and very similar to your journey, right? I know that you Built a pretty solid e-commerce business a few different three PLs had a lot going on in the e-commerce space and you know similar to you With my journey decided to take another path recently and again, I think it's for the better. I still think there's So much there will always be so much opportunity in e-commerce So don't think this is me raining on anybody here's parade but For me and this is kind of what I explained in my video. It was just a matter of preference, right? It was just hey Done this for eight and a half years and I'm interested in other things now and that's the direction I'm going in one of those things Of which there are many but the main one is in AI and The coming literate in AI learning how to use it and I mean empowering small business owners like all the folks on this call to learn it and to use it because There's a couple main pain points that I think affect most people and that's actually part of the presentation We'll get into it here shortly That I think that I think we can resolve with just you know simple knowledge and some simple tips so before I jump in and share my screen guys Quick just pull in formal and actually I'd encourage any of you guys if you have an opinion unmute and just kind of talk it through with me for a couple of seconds What is the level of AI literacy here, right? I'm assuming everybody uses a chat gbt or uses a quad but is there anybody here that's That thinks there may be more advanced or is there anybody here on the other end that's like shoot. I don't even use chat gbt yet Anybody want to unmute and kind of share their experience? Well, I treat AI as my smart best friend and it's helped me a lot with cash flow issues um Just just really thinking through issues and obviously it's How you prompt it is like how do right? Who do you want you cook and dinner Gordon Ramsey or your wife? So you have to make it you know, you know, you know, you're Gordon Ramsey-ish That's right. Don't don't tell her that yeah Andrew said just starting to use chat gbt. Okay, so again my guess or my theory is seems like it's pretty accurate right we've got people from Beginners to just starting to use chat gbt all the way up to you know folks who are maybe using it on a more regular basis or It's becoming more of an integrated part of their lives So I think that what I'm going to go over here is going to benefit all of you guys regardless of skill level and my goal with this Presentation the hour that we have together Is to leave you guys with some something that you can actually use right? I think a lot of A lot of what I see at least in this space is either it's like super technical and super advanced where unless you're already an expert It's not going to do you a whole lot of good and then you've got the other end of the spectrum where it's so basic and it's so Unhelpful that again unless you're like literally have never used chat gbt before it's not going to help you So I I tried to tailor mine to be right there in the middle where it is actionable, but it's also approachable at the same time so And my see Michael said same really just starting to use. Okay, perfect. So yeah, I think this will benefit all of you guys quite a bit And I will share my screen here and we will jump right in and also guys So this the slides here that I'm sharing I'll give you guys all access to this at the end so no need to Take a ton of notes if you don't feel like it will you know I'll circulate these at the end. So The name of the presentation simple things like an AI operator right the goal here is to leverage modern tools tools that now we all have access to that maybe two or three years ago We're still kind of up and coming and only if you were in the know did you know they exist? But now they're available to everyone and we want to leverage them to automate and amplify some of our workflows right make the things that we're already doing a little more efficient So and this is here again where I want to kind of gauge the room because this has been my theory for the last couple of months around the three biggest pain points when it comes to AI for small business owners And this is kind of what I gathered from talking to people in my network and just talking to people online right the three main pain points one being They feel like the small business owners feel like they have no time to learn it right they're busy They've got you know employees that run it around with their heads cut off all day they simply don't have the time To sit down and say all right. I'm going to learn how to use this tool. I'm going to learn how to Like deliberately implement AI into my business right so time constraints the biggest pain point from what I've understood second When this might even be bigger is that a lot of operators just don't know where to start right maybe they have the bandwidth maybe they have the desire of like hey I know I need to implement AI But I don't even know where to start right maybe I'm using chat gbt But as far as getting more integrated and using it deeper where do I start do I start here do I start there Do I start with this tool do I start with this workflow to get overwhelmed and therefore they never start Right and then the third which is kind of a mix of the first two but there seems to be a big fear of falling behind So again, AI is the buzz word everybody's talking about it everybody knows they need it But when it comes down to it a lot of people are afraid that we'll shoot my competitor is going to master this technology before I am And that's going to put me out of business or they're going to use it to have a better cost structure than me or they're going to use it to Coach some of my best employees right there's a million things that your competitors can and will do to get a leg up on you when it comes to AI And a lot of business owners just bury their head in the sand and think while I learned it eventually when meanwhile their competitors are running laps Around them right so again, I'm just going to pause there and kind of gauge the room guys to these three pain points Do they resonate is there any one of these three that you're just like hey, this is like that is me Because again, this is my theory if I'm off I want to know Right, so anybody have any feedback on those Yeah, so I don't know if you're watching the comments, but a lot of responses. Oh, yeah, let me pull those up here Don't know where to start, you know, Steve's saying don't know where to start. Andrew's saying don't know where to start Luke don't know where to start Okay, well good at least I kind of learn Yeah, if anything, I mean I'm that's it's good in the sense that it validates my theory because again talking to a lot of people I've kind of condensed their concerns down to one of these three buckets And so yeah, that's again very reassuring for me as I take this direction to Start learning the stuff deeper myself, right? But also create content that's going to help people in the like really everybody on this call is my Ideal audience for lack of a better term, right? They're small business owners that I like to say are AI curious So they're either using it a little better. They want to learn how to use it, but they fall into one of these three buckets, right? So this is very very reassuring for me. So guys, I appreciate that and again, I think the opportunity here for everybody on this call any small business owner Is making the move from just someone who dabbles and chat chvt or they maybe they even know how to structure a prompt to get a desired outcome from like a chat chvt Acplod going from that into the spectrum to the other end Which is starting to design systems that are intelligent that utilize AI that'll actually work for you, right? Eliminate some of the inefficiencies in your business and then also make you more efficient in some of the stuff that you're already doing So that's kind of my vision or where I think the biggest opportunity lies And we'll go into some of that During this call so Guys, what you'll learn today from super high level. There's just three things that I want you to take away One is the four levels of AI literacy. So we'll start with that and this is kind of my framework for Determining where you are on the AI totem pole, right? So there's four levels We'll go into that first and I think it's going to really give you a good benchmark of like hey Maybe I'm at level one or maybe I'm at zero and my goal by the end of the year my goal within six months is to be at level three Right for an example, so we'll go into that first and foremost and I think that'll help conceptualize Really the the ladder if you will to learning the stuff second we'll go into What I think are the eight most important AI or AI assisted tools on the market right now and we'll go into use cases for each of those So these are the eight tools that I use pretty much daily in some way shape or form Most of them are free or at the very most they're very low cost So I didn't include any like $200 a month tools because I don't use any tools like that all the ones I use are free Or they're super cheap and we'll go into those and how you can use them and that'll probably be Some of the most actionable part of the presentation you'll leave with like all right I'm going to get these three tools today and they're going to help me fix xyz right And then lastly we'll go into a few prompts that you guys can copy and paste These are super simple. They're not groundbreaking But I guarantee you they're ones that you guys have probably never thought about and I swear when it comes to this AI stuff so much of it is We're limited by our imagination and when we see a prompt or we see a concept That clicks it's like well, that's actually the easiest thing in the world But it's like I didn't think to think of it right so hopefully some of these prompts will give you that inside of like Wow, this is actually so simple, but I didn't even know what was the thing right and then you can go and implement it right away And guys feel free to stop me at any time of course. I've got the chat up now So if you guys have any questions you can either raise your hand or put them in the chat And we will we'll keep on rolling that way so Like I said guys first section being on the four levels of AI literacy and I guys I hate slides like this with a ton of text on them So please forgive me I just felt like with this particular section it'd be pretty hard to get the point across without Putting a little more text on this screen that I would normally like to so again any questions or you want me to go deeper on any of these Raise your hand or put something in the chat and we'll talk through it So when it comes to the four levels to have AI literacy at least the way that I see it level one Is prompting an LLM literacy all right and I hate using jargon I hate using buzzwords but LLM in this case stands for large language model Think of an LLM as your chat gbt's of the world your clods of the world Which some of you might not have even heard of clawed, but it is a competitor to chat gpt right And then think of your Google Gemini's of the world these are your Again, they're called a large language model It's essentially your chatbot that can answer your questions and search the internet right perplexity is another example So level one on the ladder of AI literacy is simply learning how to prompt these LLMs right Thinking in prompts thinking of well, hey if this is the problem that I need to solve I'm not as focused on the problem itself. I'm more focused on what is the prompt that I need to engineer To have a tool solve this problem for me Right that is level one. That's where you're going to understand the context of what you're looking to solve The role that you want your chat gbt to play for example Do you need it to be a copywriter? Do you need it to act like an attorney? Do you need it to act like a doctor? Right so again, understanding context is huge when it comes to level one and engineering these prompts So like I mentioned the tools in this case are going to be your Chat gbt's your clawed your Google Gemini really those are the big three And I'm assuming again based on the feedback earlier Everybody here probably uses chat gbt most of you probably haven't even heard of clawed And you might not have heard of Gemini either, but they're specific use cases for these two which I'll go into later But again level level one is basically your chat gbt right And an example of literacy at this stage is when you can take Something like an unstructured document right your messy ideas your brain dump and turn it into a structured SOP So it's something I like to do is take a transcript of An SOP maybe that I created for my assistant dump that into chat gbt and have chat gbt turn it into a structured checklist SOP Right, that's an example of exercising level one literacy All right, so I mean show of hands again based on where we are so far or you can put it in the chat If you feel like you're at level one which I assume most of us probably are Put a one in the chat or raise your hand because again I'm assuming that's where most people are and that's fine if you're at level one you're still farther ahead at 90% of the population And if you're at level two or level three then you're like crushing it all right So yeah, I see a lot of ones again that was my that was my thought and that's a great place to be Like I said, you're ahead of 90% of the populations so you're not in a bad spot at all Now level two guys is workflow automation All right, so I'm sure a lot of you guys I mean you're an e-com, right? So you're familiar with technology and some of these tools that exist out there you probably heard of Tools like Zapier tools like make.com, which is a basically a Zapier competitor. It's the same thing And maybe if you've done a little more research you've heard of something like N8N or Lindy Which are more advanced automation platforms, right? So level two Is simply workflow automation. It's when you're connecting tools together To automate repetitive tasks. Okay, so a good example of an automation like this and one that I implemented recently is Every time I have a zoom call like this Zapier takes the transcript feeds it into chat GPT Emails me a call summary And then I can push that directly into notion, which is where I store a lot of my notes and a lot of my Files and then it will send an email recap to everybody on the call based on that summary Right, so that's an automation that happens after every call Without me having to think about it. I set it up once in Zapier You test it to make sure it works and then it happens every time on autopilot So again, it's taking those repetitive tasks that normally you do by hand or the input is almost always the same And the output is almost always the same But you as the human have no business doing that because when you as the human are doing it It's prone to error and why would you do it when a machine can do it for you right that is level two Now I do see a question here from Trevor. So he said what really makes a difference between chat GPT and clawed I figure they're scraping the same info off the web right so Trevor very good question We're actually going to go into at least my opinion on when to use chat GPT versus when to use clawed when we go over the eight tools that I recommend But just a quick high-level summary I use chat GPT for 90% of the time 90% of the use cases chat GPT is going to get the the job done just fine Where I like to use clawed is any sort of creative or writing work right clawed is really good at writing in your voice if you give it a lot of examples And on the other end chat GPT is not very good at writing even if you give it examples because we've all seen the LinkedIn posts and the comments that are so Clearly chat GPT generated That's the main difference of when I would use clawed versus chat GPT right And I use clawed for you know any any like random stuff all the time It's more a matter of personal preference, but where clawed really shines is creativity writing and strategizing All right, and so before we jump to level three guys again talking about level two workflow automation any experience here using like a zapp here or a make.com These are no code tools right so these are tools that you don't have to be a developer you don't have to know how to code In order to use because I have no like I am Anti-developer. I I literally got a D minus and computer science one freshman year of college and I actually failed But I beg my teacher to pass me so she passed me with the D minus. That's how bad I am at coding All right, so if I can use a zapp here or make.com Anybody can use it right Steve says not yet, but want to learn Steve there are a ton of really good really user-friendly tutorials on YouTube or how to use zapp here How to use make.com. I'm happy to point you in the direction of some people that I've learned quite a bit from right Brandon said use app here for my real estate business. Yeah, I mean dude zapp here. There are I think it has 6,000 integrations Across every different tool you could think of so there's really just like with AI You're only limited by your imagination as far as what these hot workflow automation tools like a zapp here like a make or like an in it and can do And again, I'll give you some really concrete examples of stuff that I've done and actually Automations that I packaged and sold to people will go over some of those later, but there's a lot of opportunity just in level two So really if you're at level two you're ahead of like 95% of the pack right if you're at level one you're you're in the you know I had a 90% of people if you're at level two you're ahead of 95 and if you're at level three you're in the top 0.1% right and I'll go into level three here in a second Ryan said Using related transfer data between spreadsheets. Yeah, I mean, I assume that you probably got a zapp here Integration setup to do that does if relay has like native automation inside the tool that would be really cool But that's a really good example of when to use something like a zapp here. It's like hey, we've got Data here and we need it to go here So let's just automate that flow instead of me or my VA having to go in and copy and paste Right that is one of the best use cases for these no code automation tools Now level three right is a level that we'll call the vibe coding now If you guys again if you've been paying attention to the AI space at all you probably heard this term vibe coding It's turned into somewhat of a buzzword in and of itself The guy that coined it. I think his name is swix. He's like some AI dev out in Silicon Valley He coined that term earlier this year and like March of this year And really all vibe coding means is that you are not coding right you're not a developer, but you're using these Code and these AI enabled coding tools To build these lightweight AI power tools without traditional coding right without knowing how to code So if any of you guys have ever heard of something like lovable or bolt or replete These are tools that allow you to you go into the tool and you can type with natural language and say hey Build me a website for my personal brand that includes these five bullet points And it will literally build you that website just based on your text prompt So you are technically coding but you're not actually coding right so that's what vibe coding is and again for the non-developers out there like me who are have no business coding anything vibe coding is a massive massive unlock so I personally consider myself to be at like Lower level three on this on this pyramid here. I'm absolutely not at level four But I have been experimenting with some vibe coding projects and a couple of which I'll go into later in this presentation But guys if you can get to level three which by the way it only took me like a month and a half of pretty you know Casual learning on my own just exploring my own interest To get to level three Right if you can get to level three like I said you're at point one percent of the population in terms of AI literacy And your value to the marketplace When it comes to your business To you know being able to package up and sell these as products to if you ever wanted to go and get a traditional job Which I'm sure most people here don't but if you wanted to if you're at level three You're you're starting salary should be 250 grand a year right at this point And that skill is only going to be more valuable as as this technology becomes more integrated into our daily life So Again show of hands. I'm assuming nobody's quite at the level three yet if you are put a three in the chat I definitely want to talk you further But like I said I'm at like super low level three and I've been spending a ton of time looking at this stuff Carl said he's 3.1 so yeah Carl then you know you and I are on the same page when it comes to this stuff but Again, I think it's really important to try to get to level three As best you can you know within the next year right if you can do that you'll be in a really really good spot And now level four right which I'm not here yet and this is like 0.001 percent of the population is probably at level four And that's where and most of the guys at level four are developers right these are guys that are technical They've been in a development role for a number of years They know how this stuff works not just from a code perspective But from a logic perspective and from an infrastructure perspective They understand the underlying technology and how it takes and because they already have that really Specialized really advanced skill set. They're able to essentially leap frog to level four Which is creating and deploying autonomous agents And think of an agent as an AI worker that operates within 10 right this is basically your AI employee That can research that can plan that can create that can execute that can do the work that normally a human would be doing Right, so they can actually perform and execute tasks not just give you information So if you guys have ever heard of a tool called 11 labs that is a voice agent tool where you can go in Talk to it for a couple of minutes It learns your voice and then you can turn that into basically a voice clone of yourself So there was a for example, there's a gutter company here in town where I called them to get a quote to come clean my gutters In the person that answered the other line wasn't a human it was a voice agent With 11 labs as the backend because I talked to the owner because I was like dude Like how did you make that voice agent? It's really cool. I want to learn and he's like oh Well, I just recorded myself talking to 11 labs and we deploy that as a voice agent right so that's a you know A customer service person quote unquote that can take requests that can understand context that can forward you to the right person And that is an example of an autonomous agent right another example is again, if we're talking in an e-commerce context Very soon right and this is already doable but sooner than later there's going to be like out of the box solutions that do this for you Imagine having an AI bot that can manage supplier outreach Track all of your conversations with your suppliers whether they're domestic overseas if they're overseas it can translate for you Right and actually book calls with interested vendors whether you're doing Outreach to brands or whether you're doing you know research for private label ideas A bot that can do all that for you and that's not very far away Steve said if you have websites or podcasts you recommend to start learning yes, Steve absolutely So that's actually I think slide eight or nine. There's only 10 total But on slide I think nine I give a couple recommendations of people to follow and podcast to listen to the ones that I That I listen to and follow and and ones that I think you can learn from as well All right, so those are the four levels of AI literacy again I know that was kind of a long-winded explanation But this really sets the tone for the whole rest of the conversation and it's the framework that I want you guys thinking through As you start to build these skills and as you start to implement some of the stuff into your own business All right, now this is the fun part. This is the the AI tools stack So these are all the different tools That I recommend that I use and I'll go into each specific use case when you should use one versus the other and what makes it actually a good tool so First is Claude right we talked about Claude earlier. Let's see who was it that the question about Claude Trevor so you had the question about Claude right and you're you're welcome to unmute if you want to talk this through with me But like I was saying earlier I think Claude is great for creative work and for writing right so anytime I'm doing like brainstorming or strategizing or I like to sometimes brain dump all my thoughts into a clawed chat and have it summarized or have it analyzed and give me insights Claude is really good for that type of work right Whereas on the other hand chat gvt Anything that isn't writing or creative I will use chat gvt for right Now it's not to say that chat gvt can't write or isn't creative But I found that Claude gives you an edge with these types of tasks So again, I don't think we need to go too deep into chat gvt because that's probably the thing that everybody here has experienced with But those are that's kind of the main difference between the two there All right, all right, the third And I reiterate this tool in my in my takeaway slide at the end, but guys Trust me and I'm not an affiliate. I'm not getting paid for this. I don't even pay for this tool. This is a free tool But if you take away nothing from this call If you're on your computer or if you're on your phone right now go to the app store or go to whisperflow.com Download whisper flow immediately What it is is it is a voice to text tool that actually works all right so Imagine if Siri right on your iPhone actually worked because I don't know about you guys, but Siri just doesn't work for me I will try to voice a text And it's you know, it's spelling things wrong. It's capitalizing stuff weird. It doesn't know how to format It's crazy. Whereas whisperflow I mean again, imagine if that just worked and worked really well and worked in terms of formatting, right? I'll even show you guys about that. So let's like open up Google All right, so this is how you use whisperflow and I would use it in the following way one I would use it the type voice message is two. I would use it to type text messages in three I would use it any time I'm talking to chat gbt All right, so boom it'll give you You're what you just said in text and it knows how to format right so notice how I said One this to this three this it actually puts it into the list Right now the thing about whisper flows. It's going to take you a week to get used to But I promise you you will type type I say in quotes because all you're doing is talking Five times faster within a week If you take nothing else away from this presentation, please for the love of god go download whisperflow on your computer and on your phone It's completely free. You don't have to pay for it. All right Next is notion which in my opinion is one of my favorite tools out there For a number of reasons right, but really the main use cases are is it gives you a the power of AI think about like the power of chat gbt But inside your documentation and dashboards as well So I will use notion to create things like Well, I can even show you guys actually let me just show you guys My favorite use case for notion Is creating dashboards right. I'm a big dashboard guy. I'm a big tracking guy And let me share my screen here and show you guys Essentially my personal CRM. Okay, this is just one example of The power of notion Awesome. Yeah, you guys just downloaded whisper flow. It's sweet All right, so this is notion right and might look like a lot's going on But the concept is simple here, right? I created a personal CRM because I wanted to be able to follow up With all the people in my network efficiently, right? We all know the power of a network We all know how important it is to know people, but this is an actual systematized way to do that so The thing is is I didn't build this this little notion dashboard myself. I Pulled up notions AI tool, which I don't have any AI credits left so I can't actually show you right now But just like you wouldn't chat gbt. I went into notions AI and said hey build me a dashboard for tracking a personal CRM And include these data points right include their name their company their industry the group the email all that And it literally builds you this template right so then all you have to do is go fill in your data So now what I can do is I have it set to where if I haven't talked to a person in my network within the last 30 days I can just click this do for follow up and here's all the people that I need to follow up with That I haven't talked to in 30 days right so every Friday I have a task on my calendar to go in and follow up with my network So for example in in two days I'll go in I'll shoot a steve of text. I'll call my cousin. I'll shoot a text that can I'll you know, maybe DM hunter right I'll just literally go down the list and that's how you stay on top of people and that's how you build a network So notion is a really good tool for being able to on a fly right with a couple of sentences a text prompt use AI to build a dashboard just like that All right, so I'm gonna jump back into my slides here guys Yeah, super powerful for relationships. Carly's spot on And so guys before we proceed again, I want to make sure that That this is valuable so so far guys if you're liking what you're hearing give me a one or a thumbs up into the chat Give me something in the chat. I just want to make sure that this is valuable Because this is I mean to me, it's the most exciting stuff in the world But so a lot of people it's probably super boring. So excuse me some feedback Cool Awesome awesome. Okay, great guys. So we'll keep you on so Next and we kind of alluded to this earlier right when we talked about level two of the AI pyramid Being workflow automation right I mentioned make.com. I mentioned Zapier Now I have those included here. So yes, they're technically a workflow automation tool But they have AI capabilities included They also have the ability for you to Basically use chat gbt or even create your own AI agent Within your automated workflow right so without getting too complicated or too into the weeds The example that I gave earlier is a really good way to think about this right Imagine if you can create automations that use chat gbt as part of the automation. So for example We're on this zoom call when the zoom call is done Zapier is going to go into the zoom call. It's going to pull the transcript It's going to automatically feed that transcript into chat gbt Chat gbt is going to spit out a summary and then based on that summary My it's going to automatically send an email to the people on the call right in this case just Carl summarizing our call summarizing what we've discussed and thanking him for his time All right, so that's a way that again It's an automation at the end of the day. All it is is a workflow automation But it integrates that AI component. It's using chat gbt to synthesize the information and provide a summary Right, so these automation platforms get really powerful really quickly when you start to basically integrate them with AI Which is all you can do all that on the platform itself. You don't need to do any crazy You know hooking up of systems or anything like that All right, next and this is this is probably so whisper flow is easily my favorite on this list Gamma has recently become my number two on this list gamma is awesome. So guys the presentation that you're seeing here This was made with gamma All right, so gamma and it's gamma dot app. All right, I'll show you the website gamma dot app This is this is my presentation you guys are seeing here, right? So what gamma allows you to do as you can create new You can literally copy and paste the block of text into gamma and it'll spill out a slideshow Or you can have it generate something based on a prompt or some photos you can import a pdf What I did guys is I took a pdf basically I went into chat gbt And I said hey chat. This is everything that I want to discuss on my call with Carl's group today, right? I kind of brain dumped into chat gbt and then I said organize these thoughts into a pdf right And so what it did is it organized it into a pdf. I saved that pdf. I uploaded that pdf to gamma And then gamma took that pdf and generated the exact presentation you're looking at I did not edit a single thing about this presentation Partially because I spend a lot of time editing the pdf itself and making sure the input was solid So if your input is solid gamma can create a beautiful presentation instantly All right, because I don't know about you guys, but PowerPoints are the bane of my existence. I hate PowerPoints I have no design skills at all like all my PowerPoints up until I started using gamma is just like Three bullet points on a white piece of paper is basically what it is and gamma So you can do slideshows and gamma, which is what this is you can also do Documents and gamma So think of like a google doc on steroids think of instead of a slide show presentation Think about what you're seeing here, but in document form with interactive charts and graphs and images and visually appealing It's like a visually appealing pdf So gamma allows you to do both of those and gamma is free if your slide show is 10 slides or less So that's why this one is exactly 10 slides because I don't pay for gamma right really really really good tool highly recommend Um Carl said yeah, use this for the last four to five conferences. I spoke at absolutely So when using gamma again the The hard part and I say hard part in quotes because it's not that hard It's just the only part that requires work is you got to make sure the input is solid. So that's why I spent 20 30 minutes Making sure that my brain dump into chat gbt was accurate and then when it gave me the pdf I still went in and edited a few things and Added a few things here and there remove things here and there but once I had that pdf The slide show is done. It's the one-click upload right so that's that's why I absolutely love gamma Ryan said sounds like I needed this for my vision board. Absolutely. It'd be great for that right and actually I never thought to do that because I haven't personally ever done the vision board exercise But Ryan now that you're saying this I actually think it probably would be easier and make more sense to instead of Maybe a physical vision board. It's like let's just find a bunch of images online or a bunch of Even like text snippets of what you would normally include And let's throw it into gamma and have it produce a document right maybe not a slide show with a document That's basically like your vision document or like your vision board document and it actually looks good It's not just like a word doc, right? So that's I think a really cool use case. I hadn't thought of Trevor said I saw a video this morning of two-pock and Mr. Rodgers sitting courts side of the Lakers game It wasn't Sora. What's a good video AI? So As far as video AI the so Sora is the go-to I think for most people because it's easily accessible But that one might have been is VO3 VEO3 Which is Google's version of Sora basically right so if you see a really good AI video today It was probably Sora or it was probably VO3 now. I don't have a ton of experience with the video models. I really don't But that's just kind of my gut Ryan said jgbt and gym and I are horrible from vision boards. Yeah, I can see that. I can see them not being very good I can see gamma being a lot better that All right, so next here we've got Lume right so loom is another tool. It's not an AI tool like a lot of you guys here are probably familiar with loom But what I like about loom is Well, if you're on the plot, I think the pro plan it actually does have an AI component or you can analyze your videos using AI natively inside loom But I don't even use it for that right what I use loom for And I'll show you guys I use loom To record myself Basically record myself Reacting to my daily AI practice right so for example every not every day but a lot of the days I will commit to performing one practice task using AI All right, so for example on November 3rd, which is two days ago I created an AI training course for my assistant which I'm going to actually give you the prompt for how I did that here later in this presentation But so what I did is I created that course for my assistant and then what I like to do is I like to fire up loom Camera only right not even recording the screen just talking to the camera and just brained up my thoughts So if you were to watch this video, which I won't bore you with it, but all I say and it is hey I used chat gbt to create this course for anger today This is kind of how I did it. This is what I learned. This is the roadblock side ran into whatever and then once I have that video What I like to do is like to go and take the transcript and download the transcript and then upload that to clawed Right because remember clawed tends to be better at like creative work and and um writing things like that Use that transcript for write an email to my email list I could use that transcript to generate a few different tweet ideas I could have clawed analyze that transcript and tell me what I could have done better or what I could have done differently There's a lot that you can do when you have a really easily accessible video and a really strong transcript So that's what I like to use loom for all right, it's not necessarily an AI tool in and of itself, but it assists A lot of my other AI tools All right, and then last but not least is note gbt So this is a really fun one now if you're not really in the content creation space It's probably not going to be as useful for you guys, but I'm Independent of what you want to use it for it might be right so I can even show you guys note gbt um Note gbt allows you to what I like to use it for is I will take a link to a youtube video So for example my podcast today right my podcast. That was to video. I paste it here to note gbt here it is right here And then what it does is it will one you can download the transcript to you can talk to You can have a chat and literally talk to the video and say hey What did they say about you know this blood marker or what were his thoughts on self storage and it's essentially like a custom Chat gbt instance for that but that's trained on that specific video you see what I mean so like If you were to let's say for example you guys find a Like a eight-hour zappier course on youtube. There's a million of them and they're super long You could take that link to that zappier youtube video Pasted into note gbt and instead of having to watch the eight-hour video You could just say hey give me the the ten bullet point summary of what I need to implement when I learn in this video Right and save yourself eight hours So that's what I like using note gbt for you can see they've got a the whole suite of tools You can pull Summaries of youtube videos you can pull transcripts of youtube videos you can You know convert pdf to different formats right image to pdf pdf to csv a bunch of different things you can do I don't want to overwhelm you guys but note gbt is a really good tool for Mainly interacting with youtube videos is what I use it for right super simple Okay, so those are the those are the eight tools again. I'm gonna pause here Guys feel free to unmute feel free to put questions in the chat. I want to keep this interactive What is y'all's feedback on some of these tools? Are you guys using any of these tools already in your data? Did they work? I'll start so I Didn't use whisper it. That's the new one I learned for today. So that was massive. I appreciate it Um note gbt that was a big one for me is in terms of uh, you know the software stack you have here um, you know, just in that right there. I think that was that was massive for me And I can 100% agree with you in a sense of chat gbt and what their strengths is is like uh, you know coding or a heavy analytics and so forth versus Cliving and more career driven right and uh, yeah, definitely definitely agree on that gamma I mean, I don't forget. I don't remember who it was in this group. I talked to Uh, but gamma was a massive keychanger for me because like you do I hate PowerPoint presentations the worst Absolutely. In fact, I hated doing any kind of talks just because oh my god, I gotta do a presentation. Yeah, you don't want to put the power It's together. Yeah, I'm sorry. Yeah, man. So um, I learned for for one of my actual uh, for my coaches He said hey, man, they'll share this to anybody, but here's my hack to create presentations. He does Vomits on loom or some type of note taking tool In in dress and outline dumps it in in to gamma and magically appears this amazing presentation Yeah, so yeah, man. This is all good stuff. I appreciate it. Awesome. Yeah Absolutely guys anybody else want to unmute and kind of talk through any of these tools or any feedback you guys have on this slide in particular I know I just threw a ton at you, but I mean really every one of these tools is super useful for the exact thing that it does and just my implementing a few of these I mean, you're talking big time time savings and big time cost savings in some cases too I got something so under chat GPT you have anything that isn't writing or creative kind of dumb question, but Like what do you define creative that chat GPT can't take on Yeah, and good question and it's not that it can't take on creative or writing work, right? It's just that that's not its skill set So again, I define like writing or creative to be actual Generation of written content, right? So for me, I write a lot on Twitter on LinkedIn I send emails to my email list and I'm not saying that those are AI generated that I just you know rip that from cloud and send it But chat GPT is not as strong at even ideating around content and giving me ideas or instructuring my ideas in a certain way, right? So I mean for you guys again Even if you're not making content sometimes you just want to structure your thoughts or maybe you want feedback on the particular strategy that you're working on in your business And my experience I've just had better success with cloud for those types of tasks, right? Like Carl said if we need to do like a financial analysis or if we need to upload a spreadsheet or for example I took a blood test last week, right? And I wanted to know My results spoken to me as someone who's not a doctor. I don't like I don't understand the results So I that's a perfect chat GPT task, right? That's where something like a chat GPT is going to excel But if I want feedback on my you know my annual plan for my business I find that cloud a lot of times gives better insight than than chat GPT So does that make sense? Does that kind of like give distinction and it's kind of subjective? It does Um this cloud because I use agent mode on chat GPT a lot You know the gum I saw the central gum I quick pokes and kind of give me a cash flow plan for the month this cloud have something like that. I'm sure it does So I don't believe cloud has a native agent mode inside the app or on the website But cloud does have a chrome extension, right? So um I actually have an experience Experimented much with the cloud chrome extension yet, but it does have one so Again, it could be something where if you have the chrome extension on your your desktop and you log into a seller central Sometimes you don't even need to move that data from You know a seller central into chat GPT or even export it sometimes you can just You're on the screen and you have the cloud chrome extension You can just kind of query it right there. So it's looking at what you're looking at and it already has that context Yeah, that's why I like the agent mode so I don't bring it up on the screen Actually prompts of the m and then it just goes in there and does all the work itself Yep, which I like Yeah, so I you know cloud doesn't have that yet chat GPT is Farther ahead when it comes to the the actual agent use cases like natively within the app What cloud does have is cloud code which again is it's kind of outside the scope of this Of this talk and it's something that I'm just only recently starting to dabble in But that's where once you get into the vibe coding space and you get to kind of that level 3 in the hierarchy That's where cloud can be super powerful for Agente use cases kind of like you mentioned takes a little more, you know skill and expertise around Um those types of things chat GPT agent is going to work you know 99 times out of 100 for probably what you're going to need to use it for Great question. Yeah. Yeah, I saw that chat GPT released a new workflow automation similar to Zapier and make did you ever try that out yet? So I haven't tested it myself. They yeah, they released let's say I don't even remember what they're calling it but I mean base it's almost like a platform for these for these automations and for these workflows, right? I remember the day before it the day before it came out everybody was saying is like oh is this going to be what kills Zapier Is this going to be what kills make calm and what we found is that like yes, it's great and it works and it's it's getting there But it's not quite the Zapier killer that they thought it was going to be a on day of release I think what open AI is going towards is they're trying to be the platform That everybody else builds on top of right and so that was kind of a step in that direction and in the like workflow automation context But if you dig into that tool, it's still super I don't want to say buggy But it's just it's not intuitive right like unless you are a developer It's going to be really hard to build something on their platform as of today Versus a Zapier anybody myself included no Coding expertise can go into Zapier and spin up a simple automation quickly right you can't really say that for where We're open a eyes version of that is today. It's a lot more difficult to use Yeah, no great questions guys any any other ones before we keep moving on Yeah, I got a quick one. Yeah So so if you were going to recommend like One over the other you know, I've heard a lot about make And other things but would you say Zapier's better or makes better or do you have a stronger recommendation one or the other for those repetitive tasks Yeah, so they're pretty much the same But if I had to recommend one I'd go as Zapier only because I believe it's been around longer But it definitely has more integrations than make right there's a lot of tools out there where Like they have a Zapier integration, but they don't have a make integration and there's far fewer tools That have a make integration, but don't have a Zapier integration if that makes sense Yes, okay Yeah, and I mean you can get away with a Zapier free plan for a long time like you you probably won't need to pay for Zapier until like you're really getting in the weeds and And throw in some automations together, which I mean the pay plan starts at like it's like 30 a month something like that crazy crazy cheap Great. Thank you. Yeah, Carl, did you have something to Yeah, what if you're a toyed with notebook LM from Google So I haven't toyed with it yet myself when I have some familiar with it, but can I mean catch me up to speed what exactly What would be a use case for it? Yeah, so no book Experiencing with this as well. So basically you can Take a lot of source data and jump into what you'll call a notebook Similar to what cloud has for projects But it's not stores in any external information, right? So it's your bill you're basically building a project or a notebook and Where the really power comes in is say let's say for example You're you want to go to on a trip to Scotland or maybe to UK wherever and There's a lot of source information you could pull from like websites maybe a podcast or a couple of brochures You're again, you can dump all this information into this notebook and then you can ask it to summarize This information and then then I think where the really added benefit comes in especially if you try and learn something Rather than just reading information or whatever There's audio mode where you can basically engage into a podcast the live podcast with this information and have a back and forth conversation With the host I say host, but you know basically it's like a podcast style you can actually have a conversation So hey, you know, give me some top five places that will love to go to Scotland if I have three kids below the age of nine Right. Oh, yeah, that's a great question. You know, based on the information we have it will be this this and this Um, and uh, they would also generate a video as well So that again, that's like the mid well, that's kind of like dig where it sees my knowledge But that's where I found notebook and London to be helpful is really learning something right you know Or just you know could be developing content, but basically you're it's limited the information inside that hole Right, it's not coming from the internet to pull other information as well Right no, and that's there's a lot of use cases there right so it sounds to me like It's basically it's a custom gpt right which is something that's available in chat gpt But it's it's only that right and I think something like notebook lm's probably more accessible to the everyday person because To create a custom gpt you've got to go in you've got to upload all your documents You've got to give it a system prompt. You've got you've got to uncheck the box to search the internet It's like if you have a custom gpt Even if you give it a lot of those documents or data that you want it to only use It's still going to go out and try to get you answers from the internet unless you tell it not to right unless you don't check that box So sounds to me like notebook lm is is basically like a More easily accessible lightweight version of a custom gpt because with a custom gpt you can get super granular and in the weeds and you know Customize it to really what you need, but that I think that makes a lot of sense. I wasn't exactly sure the difference, but now Now I do No, that's a great insight. Well cool guys, but we'll shoot and I realize it's already one of the thought Carl Do we have a little more time? I've just got a couple more I can kind of breeze through these last ones Yeah, I just have a hard step about about 20 after but Okay, good one. Yeah. Yeah, well, and we'll be done before that. I'll keep going so And guys again, I'll I'm gonna share this with you guys So no need to I mean you can screenshot this if you want to but no need to kind of scurry to to get this down But these are just three super simple copy and pray paste prompts that you guys can use Immediately and I'll just kind of go into each of these why they're important. So It sounds weird, but having a prompt for creating prompts is actually really important right because Again, I can go in all day and say like hey and just prompt it with whatever I think is necessary Hey, write me this text or hey summarize this document or you know, give me Insights based on this transcript But what's a lot more effective maybe takes a few extra minutes, but it's gonna make your output so much more effective So what I like to say is hey, you're my AI prompt engineer help me craft the perfect prompt to achieve XYZ goal and now this is the important part is ask me as many clarifying questions as you need in order to get the full context first Then generate the final prompt formatted for maximum accuracy and creativity So one of the most underrated ways to use chat gbt is to have it to interview you To get context to then create a prompt that will laser focus solve whatever problem and as you need to solve right For example, I'm helping my friend Develop a playbook basically a collection of SOPs for one of the roles inside his company and instead of telling chat gbt hey help me you know develop a bunch of SOPs for this role. I said hey, here's the role that we're trying to Develop now interview me to get all the information you need to have an understanding of this role and then and only then Help me generate a prompt for accomplishing it and it asked me it was like 127 questions of context And you don't have to answer all of them, but the more of those questions I answered the more laser focus the prompt was going to be to then accomplish the problem that we set out to accomplish right So that's a huge unlock when you take the extra few minutes to have it interview you to then create a prompt to then solve your problem right Now second one and this this one. I think is super super powerful um is Using loom right using a tool like loom To record yourself doing a task and it could be anything it could be the simplest task all the way up to a one hour long You know slog of a task that you do maybe once a week or once a month right so the first thing you do you record yourself doing that task With loom ideally talking through the task as you're doing it So not only is it watching your screen, but you're also talking it out right so once you're done You take the video file and the transcript and you upload it to google gemini and the reason you upload it to google Gemini is because you can't upload videos to the closet or chat gvt But you can upload videos to google Gemini so you upload both the video file and the transcript To google Gemini and then you simply ask it For ideas on how to automate the task that you just did or at least for ideas on how to improve it, right? So you can use a prompt like analyze this transcript and video Identify every step that can be automated using AI or no code tools like make zappier and i did in a then Then outline an ideal future workflow with those automations implemented So I did this for my process of ordering groceries right every week I go on to instacart and I order all my groceries Maybe takes me five six minutes But like why am I doing that in an age that AI exists So I recorded myself on loom doing that task uploaded it to gemini and gemini said well Hey here all here all the ways that you can automate this or here's all the ways that you can use zappier to at least You know cut down the time by 50% for example So you'd be shocked at each um The suggestions that it will give you and a lot of times they're easy It's like oh why didn't I think of that right? Done so that's a really I think powerful one when it comes to process optimization And then lastly workflow mapping so This is a good one when you're looking at well, hey How is it that I'm doing this task kind of I make it more efficient so the prompt is hey I want to automate this workflow and then you describe the workflow that you want to automate List each step the tools best suited to automate it and what human oversight is still required Then summarize the ROI or time say from implementing it So this is similar to the second prompt that we looked at But it's just a more lightweight one where you can get an answer a little quicker Right you don't need to transcript you don't need a video file order to do this This is kind of just the first pass exercise then maybe give you an idea of what's possible And then if you get good results from this one Then maybe you take a step further and go back to this one here All right So again guys I'll pause like is this helpful again. I know I'm throwing a lot at you But these three prompts right here are super powerful especially the first one the prompt for creating prompts So again, if this is still valuable if you guys are finding value and let's throw some ones in the chat For give me some thumbs up on The camera just make sure on the right track Yeah, one thing I'll tell you in this for everybody else and you probably heard Damn Martell say this you know While AI can automate Most of well just about everything that has we have going on our lives The IP is becoming inside the prompts. Yep, right. You know, that's becoming more of your IP than anything, right? So Yes, you you know, we are probably going to be facing an age where jobs are going to be you know drastically reduced by the AI But to your point earlier today in a sense of skills and you know experience and expertise It's the IP inside your prompts or your prompts becoming your IP that's going to become like your major wins, right? So the more time and energy and focus you can put into developing your prompts and perfecting them Man, that's that's going to be the big difference in your in your work essentially So I love this man appreciate it Corp Yeah, of course and so let's see somebody made a cut Trevor made a comment earlier I find them where I chat with chat GBT it knows more and more about me and caches that info And you're right it does it starts to learn you and it there's a window a context window, right? So after a certain amount of time it's going to forget Older things that you talk to it about But one of the things I love about Claude is its new feature called Claude skills And so Claude skills think of a Claude skill as an SOP for Claude right so you can upload examples of your work or Basically guard rails that you want Claude to stay inside of and it will always reference those throughout all of your chat So that's a way to kind of give it more context and have it always Respond in a way that's appropriate to you right based on Based on kind of what you tell it Steve said I feel like I'm drinking from a fire hose. Yeah, again guys my goal was not to throw too much at you So I will you know, we'll keep on going But I wanted to give you guys as much value as I could here and we can always go deeper on this later You guys can always reach out to me directly and we can chat through it So here's a bonus prop for you guys. I told you earlier. I would leave you all with this one So I mentioned earlier that earlier this week and actually I did this a month ago I created a 30-day AI training course for my executive assistant right because the problem we were having Is again, there's all these AI tools like Steve said. It's like shoot. We're drinking through a fire hose out here So how do we really simplify it and focus on one simple AI related task each day So that we just get one person one percent better each day and after 30 days We're farther ahead when it comes to AI knowledge than 90% of people right So I use this prompt to create that course for her and it's simple my goal is to create a 30-day training course Then my executive assistant can follow step by step to learn AI and AI related tools Can you please help me craft a prompt that I can use to generate this type of course Ask me all the information that you would need to generate a high-quality course such as tools use types of projects etc So again, kind of like our prompt for creating prompts Then chat GVT started to interview me as far as well. Okay, what tools do you want her to learn? What do you want it to focus on right and you kind of give it some of that simple context and it put together a 30-day course For every day she had one simple task that took her 20 to 30 minutes to do to go in and learn an AI tool And at the end of 30 days She kind of presented to me what she learned and then two days ago I created an additional 30 days to go deeper on the first one Right, so you can use this for either your assistant if you have one or for yourself I recommend using this prompt for yourself to create a course for yourself To learn this stuff little by little today by day Right, especially if the pain point that we mentioned at the beginning of the call is Well, I don't know where to start. This is where to start right So we can talk through a couple of real world success stories I won't spend too much time here because again I don't think I'd have to sell you guys on the value of this stuff I think it's pretty clear cut but I have been doing some of these AI implementation and consulting projects on the side just for people in my network And one of them is a friend of mine who owns a wedding venue Right, they own a few different wedding venues and they host weddings there The problem he was having is they were taking over six hours to respond to new leads So people fill out a form on their website They say hey, we're interested in maybe booking our wedding at your space How many people can it fit or you know, what are your hours? Any number of questions They were taking six hours to respond on average So what we did is inside of make.com which is one of the automation platforms we mentioned earlier We built a super simple what we call speed to lead agent That is trained on his company's FAQs So it knows how many people it can fit it knows their hours it knows the location right And it will auto respond to those leads and get them booked for tours All right, so that was a super simple problem that we built with a simple or that we fixed with a simple solution Right another simple problem is For example my podcast when I Go on calls like this try to podcast interviews. I don't have a clear call to action for people to come and listen to my podcast Usually I just say like well, hey, go search word on Apple or go search for it on Spotify So what I did is I used cloud code Which is level three in our hierarchy right I use cloud code to build a simple landing page for my podcast So now when I do an interview, I can say well, hey go to Cory dot show right which is where I'm going to be hosting this landing page It's not live yet But it will be soon and again simple problem simple solution built using an AI tool at cloud code Now again, I know we're already super past times. We don't even need to go through the last few of these But again lots of real-world use cases that you can solve for yourself and you can package these as products And sell them to other small business owners, right or to enterprises. There's a lot of people doing that Yep, and then guys walk a couple last two slides here one accounts to follow So somebody asked earlier. It's like, well, hey, who should we learn from who else should we be following what podcast should we listen to Somebody I or two people I really like is Greg Eisenberg on twitter linkedin and youtube. He's got really good content And then a guy called boring marketer also on twitter and youtube really good Not very technical right so pretty accessible information about a lot of the stuff that we talked about today From those guys and they post all the time. So it's really good stuff Couple of podcasts that are useful start up ideas podcast Now this is Greg Eisenberg's podcast and Again, it's this sounds a little misleading because it's like well, I already have a business. I don't need startup ideas Really all he does is just interview big AI Company founders on hey, what does your company do and how can it benefit the everyday startup founder Right, so I've learned a ton about this stuff from this podcast as well as the AI daily brief Which is a six day week podcast 15 to 20 minutes More geared towards the enterprise so not super applicable to us But it'll keep you up to speed on everything that's happening at a very high level in the world of AI So for example the acquisitions the you know the the compute deals the who's Coaching from who right just a lot of like the enterprise AI news That's really good to know because it's the macro economic environment. It's going to eventually trickle down to us As small business owners and it's like 15 minutes a day. So that's what I like to listen to And then just key takeaways here guys this is my last slide and then I'll let you go But main takeaways is practice daily right use AI to perform one new task per day It doesn't matter how small it is the goal is to get one percent better every day kind of like I say down here And like I said at the beginning if you take nothing else away from this presentation Just start by downloading whisper flow download it use it for a week and thank me later It's going to save you a ton of time For it because now you can just talk to text instead of having to type everything out And then track your progress right like I said earlier I like to record a quick loom video Every day that I'm working inside AI explaining what I did brain dumping my thoughts So that I can use that to then analyze it inside a cloud or a chat gvt or just to have as a record Two years from now when AI isn't even bigger part of our lives It'll be fun to look back and say well two years ago. This is what I was doing and look how far The technology has come or look how far my knowledge has come since then So that's what I got guys and then I've got a link for you guys to download This this presentation if you guys want to I'm happy to share that or Carl if you want me to send that over to you and you can circulate it You were welcome to do so. Yeah, you feel free to drop in the chat And Cory how do people find you man if they want to interact more with you at all you know or It's more content or working with you and things you're doing and how do people find you how they contact you Yeah, no appreciate that so guys I'd say check out my podcast right the Coryganum show on all platforms I just had an interview We released episodes every Wednesday. We have for almost three years now But the one today I think is well, I know is my best interview by far I'm it was with a guy called Nick Hubert He's sweaty startup on X.
